Went on Saturday with my husband to get his truck smog. The receptionist at the counter was super sweet and made us feel very welcomed. Awesome Awsome service. You need to get there early because they get busy but that doesn't effect what a great job they do. I got there at 10am And was out in 30 min. Micheal was my tech and he was handling the entire shop it was crazy busy but he was efficient, fast and friendly. They are a little hard to find kinda hidden behind Access Dental To top it off they offer $25 or $30 coupon(depending on the year of your car). Walked in and asked for a pre-test. According to the California state smog check program website, "A pre-test or pre-inspection is an unofficial test provided as an option to vehicle owners prior to having an official Smog Check performed on the vehicle." The young man at the desk said they don't do pre-tests. So I went somewhere else and got one. read more

Was a "walk-in" at 8:30A on a Saturday and there were a couple of cars ahead of me. Mentioned "Yelp" and received a discount which made the price competitive for the area. Very personable, efficient person working the counter - super fast check-in. Clean waiting area. My car was built after 2000 and only had to go through the OIS inspection, so I was done in 30 minutes. Competitive price, efficient and fast - works for me. Comment - don't know how they are with older vehicles that have to go through the tailpipe emissions test with the more stringent visual check, but they do offer that service. read more

Love it After going to another local smog shop and having bad luck I was sent to several other shops and places about fixing truck. Finally in was refered to Vallejo smog. Come to find out there was no issue and I successfully completed smog in a great time period given the older model car. Customer services and pricing was perfect. You know how every time you walk into an auto service facility you just feel like you're going to get ripped off. Well I felt that walking in and it went away as soon as the guy that helped me opened his mouth. He actually didn't think I needed a smog and was willing to send me away until he saw the out of state plates. I was out of there within 15 minutes at noon on a Friday. 25JAN2015: The business name is not Vallejo Tint Shop, I apologize for my mistake. The business name is "At Test Only Center" at the same address as Vallejo Tint Shop. I was contacted 2 months ago by the owner of Vallejo Smog Test, Richard M, about how Vallejo Tint Shop does not offer smog tests and that I should contact the owner as people are getting confused. Well, let me state that I made a mistake; it is the building right next to it; literally joined to it, just check google maps! The advertisement on google maps is still visible, just put in the address and go to streetview: 205 Couch St Vallejo, CA 94590. You can even still see the "Test Only Station" picture on their yelp page; $29.75 chainlink fence posted advertisement on google maps. Getting a car smogged isn't fun, but Vallejo Smog makes it far less terrible! I just had my BMW smogged here for the 3rd time. They always do a great job and Jessica (at the front desk) is always super friendly. They even provide a clean waiting area that's air conditioning. read more

Friendly establishment, but rather than inflate prices if you don't know the secret handshake for the $20 off friendly discount or the $30 Yelp mention 'coupon' - how about a reasonable price off the bat? This last weekend I paid $85 out the door, where I could have paid $20-30 less if he'd remembered me (3rd time here at least) like he sometimes does other repeat customers. The man's gotta make a living I suppose - but I'll refrain from coming here in the future when I can save a significant amount elsewhere that may recognize the value of repeat business. Even with the $30 discount; this place charges $20 more than anyone else. In addition, I was told I needed to drive my car around another 75 to 100 miles before testing it, as it had not been re-set yet. They said they were going to charge me an additional $30 when I came back, and they charged me the $8.42 fee for a certicate even though I did not receive a certificate. Now my dmv is going to be late, and I am going to be fined. There is nothing wrong with my car. This is a scam to get you to come back. Nobody charges you again if you need to drive around more. read more

Just moved back to Vallejo and wanted to get all the DMV hassle out of the way right away. Went to my appointment and of course need a smog. Checked Yelp and they directed me to Vallejo Smog. Printed the coupon on their website and headed over. Was barely out of my car when the tech came over and greeted me. I was there less than 30 minutes total and my car passed! I was thrilled, as it's an old car. He even removed my old license plate for me, so I could turn it into the DVM. Both guys there were super nice and helpful.
