Wow! Richard the owner gave such exceptional customer service. The smog check retest of my vehicle (Nissan Pathfinder 2009) still failed but at least he was able to explain to me first hand with the diagnostic tool what's going on and what I can do about it which I appreciate. There's not a lot of business out there that gives this kind of customer service and he does listen to customers issue (and yes, he reads Yelp reviews =)). I will follow his recommendations and hopefully my vehicle will pass or I will buy a new vehicle hahahaha...it's a good excuse, right? This place is highly recommended!!! PS Richard is going to retire soon (in September) so to anyone who still need to get their smog check this year... Hurry up before he moves back to NY. read more

This is the best place for smog!!! MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THEIR NEW LOCATION, don't make the same mistake I did by almost going to the smog place across the street from their old location since they have a sign pointing to their spot, those guys will rip you off they charge $30 more than this place, at least for my car it was. Vallejo Smog has excellent customer service and will get you in and out quickly read more

I have been coming to this shop for the past 10 years. Over the years, with a few changes of ownership, the shop is still outstanding and providing the best service ever. Thank you! read more

Great smog shop but very disappointed they don't take care of dmv paperwork anymore. Great, fast service. In and out in less than 20 minutes give or take a few. read more

Wow!! I saw that this place has 5-Stars and I see why. Right when I walked in, the woman working the counter was extremely nice. I walked in at 4:20, ten minutes before they take in any cars for a smog. The woman was funny and easy to talk to. She wasn't burnt out or rude even though I came in close to closing. I was told my car would be ready in about 15 minutes! I decided to write the review before I even got my car back because the service was so great. I am pleased. I was expecting to be here for some time-- even brought my work. The gentleman doing my smog test was out getting my car immediately when I walked in. Seven minutes later, I got my car back and even got a $25 discount because the woman at the front was an angel. This was the best experience ever. Thank you read more

Smog test being done today. I think I'm in yhe right shop. My ist time here and I feel comfortable.

Been using this place for more than 10 years with all our vehicles. Fast and easy transaction. Will definitely use them again.

I was a little worried when I didn't see the guys I knew before. I have been going here for 6+ years. This place ripped me off by failing my car on a previously disconnected battery. Said they would only charge me $36 dollars for retest. I just paid them$50+!!!! Btw this had happened with old owners and they just told me to return later for a smog (drive car 100 miles) test, no extra charge!!! Found a great place AND cheaper by Solano County Superior court house. Also the Times-Herald quote in the ad of "Grapevine" boasting "The Best of 2010,11,12 and 2017" was sooo long ago with the old fisherman owner. Sorry new owners, you lost 2 cars. Maybe you shouldn't put the screws to your old clients. I'm not coming back. read more

Vallejo Smog - Not the old school professional guys anymore, you may get the screws. - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Vallejo, California

Quick smog service, friendly front desk, actually friendly staff. We came there randomly on a Wednesday, they took us in right away and finished within what felt like less than 10 minutes. Everyone was professional and friendly. Will be back for the next smog test. Thank you! read more

Probably the fastest I've ever got out of a smog test station. Granted, I did come right when It was open. They said I was next to get my car smog and 15 mins later my car was done. On top of that I didn't know there was a coupon out there and was just given to me. Great customer service and I would definitely recommend this place! read more

Really couldn't have had a better experience. From the time I stepped into the shop to me leaving it was maybe 15 minutes at the most! Friendly service and speedy. Next time, I won't put it off until the last minute. Go here for an easy smog test. read more

Getting a smog is typically something most people don't want to do, but it's part of owning and operating the lovely polluting machines that we drive. Super fast, super friendly staff, I was in and out in less than 15 minutes, fast and efficient. Total was $55. read more

Sure is nice to deal with people that know what they're doing. Been going there for years and years and years and even though it's change the ownership still has the same people working there take care and take care of their customers read more

my past experiences with smogs have always been similar to going to the DMV (employees giving attitude and unprofessional service). But not here, the service from all employees were so kind and helpful. Lots of positive language used while I was there and they have a legit waiting room unlike the others I've gone to. 10/10 recommend getting your smog done here read more

I needed a smog check to register my car. I came at 9am (Saturday). I was greeted kindly and was assisted fairly swiftly!! I did mention yelp and was offered an instant discount. So definitely mention yelp!! The employees there were nice and professional definitely recommend!! read more

Excellent customer service all around. I called in to see if there was a wait & they told me to come on in. I showed up, checked in, had my car smog tested, paid & was on my way a lot faster than I expected. My experience was so smooth that I brought in my Wife's car the next day & was in n out just as fast. I'll be bringing both cars back in 2 years. read more

Very pleased with Vallejo Smog Test! Did not wait for a long time I was done in less than 20 minutes. I will see you guys on my next smog check. Thanks! read more

I had the best experience at the Vallejo Smog Test Only Center. I pulled into a parking spot and Richard immediately walked outside and greeted me. I gave him my paperwork and sat down in the lobby. About 15 mins later (or even less, I think) he walked in, handed me my stuff and rung me up. With this place being so close to DMV, I was able to get a smog check and update my registration in 20 minutes! Amazing. This is the place to go. Friendly service and quick... you can't beat that. read more

Best service I have ever received from a business...hands down!! Polite, friendly, professional, efficient and fast in and out!! Best price in Vallejo and even had them file for me and got my tags there! So worth the extra 19.95 not to stand in line at DMV!! I will definitely be returning and recommending!! read more

Came in for a smog Monday January 21. Immediately helped. Smog done in about 15 minutes. Very helpful staff. Vallejo smog is the best smog shop in Vallejo. read more

Hard to go wrong on a smog? Look for coupons on Valpack or online at their website. Quick and responsive. Highly recommend.

That time again to do a Smog and this place hands down best around. They have you in and out in 15-20 minutes and they are super friendly. A lot of times when you go somewhere like this where it is a mandatory requirement you lose customer service. Not here! They are very friendly and I would highly recommend read more

This is THE place to go to get your smog done AND your oil changed!! I had the BEST service you can possibly imagine from Kurt, the mechanic. He did everything lickety split and then as though THAT weren't enough, I peaked outside to see if my car was done and he was giving my tires a very much needed fill!! WHAT A GREAT PLACE!! NOT MY FIRST TIME GREAT SERVICE HERE EITHER. Last time, Kurt told me of a part I would need to replace to get my car fixed to be able to pass smog and showed me where it was broken and even told me how much I should expect to pay! WHAT A SUPER STAR!!! read more

These folks were quick, polite and friendly. Very reasonably priced, and they gave me the coupon discount even though I didn't bring in the coupon. Note: There is an imitation right across the street with big flags, so if you don't see the sign saying "VALLEJO SMOG TEST", you're at the off-brand shop. read more

Review updated after interaction. I can't say exactly where the ball dropped. It could have been dmv so VST may not be deserving of my initial review. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS PLACE ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER CAR! They failed the smog test just because they can't find the ARB EO on the car's original catalytic converter. Everything else passed including emission test, but failed on visual test. Now they're saying that I need a new catalytic converter. My car runs fine and has low mileage. I will report this to DMV. UPDATE: If you guys had let the customers with old cars know about this new state requirement before running the test, then I would understand. That would have given me an option to continue with the smog test or not continue with it. But instead, you accepted the smog test knowing it's an old car that may not have the ARB EO number on it, failed the visual test (not the emission test), told me about the new state requirement, and took my money. The catalytic converter is the original part of the car, and do you expect that ARB EO number to magically appear on an old part? And do you know what's the nail on the coffin? NO FREE RETEST! I will have to pay this place $60 to take another test. Are you kidding me? By the way, I'm an honest person and I'm having a great day just like you! And I don't like people wasting my time and money! I've been going to this place for Smog Test before, and even referred this place to my family and friends. But that won't be happening anymore. I will let them know about what just happened. read more

These guys were beyond brilliant! Showed up and was immediately greeted. Dude told me to hold up one sec to finish up with the person before me and then within minutes had me settled. I couldn't have been there more than 15-20 minutes total. While i was waiting to be helped at the counter one of their mechanics walked in and waved to me smiling. The same mechanic came in later when the other had left the desk so the lobby was unattended. The mechanic popping in spoke to the people whole had just walked in, they were greeted and told they would be helped in a moment. Within seconds their front desk dude of the day was on it! I saw everyone move in and out quickly. Their waiting area was clean, good amount of space (more than most smog places I've been to) and no annoying tv's or radios or anything! I was so happy. They were also awesome for an elderly woman there, very patient, and kind while they explained their answers clearly for her to each question she threw at them. I was able to use their coupon for checking in with yelp and settled up for $55 on my 2002 Dodge Durango. When i left the same kick ass mechanic that kept checking in on the front desk stop what he was working on to wave goodbye to me! I waved and yelled a "thank you! " back grinning ear to ear. These guys are great and totally on top of their game. I will gladly come here any time i need to for as long as i leave nearby. I wish everything could be this awesome and easy. read more

First impressions are the cincher. You first walk in, they have a huge lobby with multiple areas to sit and food/drink for sale. For a smog shop (like most mechanics places) you don't expect it to be too clean. However, this is obviously the exception. Not only was it super clean, but actually smelled good. The service time was phenomenal. From parking to getting back into my car after the test was done was no more than 20 minutes. I don't know if I just hit em right during a slow period, but I've never had my car smogged that fast read more
