This is the second time I've been here for a smog check . Andy was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. This will definitely be the place I would recommend anybody to go to for a smog check ! read more

Fast and honest business. Came to get a smog check. There were a few cars ahead of me but they were done in around 15 minutes each. He is a one man show so please be patient! This place is a first come first serve shop. You may come when it's slow, but don't expect your car to be done right away on a busy day. The cost was so affordable than the last place I visited that charged over 100$. He charges 65$ for cars older than mid 2000's!! Great place, hard honest working owner! read more

Came here for a smog check and had a great experience. He finished up the car he was inspecting a few minutes after I arrived and got me in next. Andy, the owner, is a really nice guy and made the whole process easy. The inspection took about 15 minutes, and I was in and out without any hassle for $65. I would definitely recommend Andy's business. read more

01/09/26- Needed smog for two of my vehicles (2002 Lancer and 2010 Traverse) and waited until Andy is back after a few days of his shop being closed last December. Despite of some days that his shop was closed, during that time- he still managed to update his hours via yelp and google plus he answers phone calls. I was not left wondering as to why. Greeted upon arrival and same excellent service after years of coming here. I see how he treats his customers, new or old coming by. He can get busy at times, but the quality of service never fails. Just let Andy know as soon as you arrive, so that he can tell you your place in line and estimated wait time. Still the best price around here. He meticulously inspects, does the smog test and never complacent. Very respectful and calm. Guess who won for the 2025 Voted Best Smog Station in Solano County? None other than AO Smog. He may not get the 2023 and 2024 1st place but 1st Runner Up for those two consecutive years. That's also a good thing to give others a chance to win. But since 2017 (I believe) and rest of the years including 2025 were all won by AO Smog, hands down! And that's when people vote in Times Herald on who's the best. I never voted- but yet, he is still the clear winner! I have been coming here and I am proud to say that he has not changed a bit and always a pleasant experience. Keep up the great work and glad that I always have my regular smog shop. Thanks Andy! read more

No disappointments or frustrations. That's a win. Took my car in on a whim, got my service done quickly, paid the man $40 and I was out. Successful smog experience. read more

If this Smog place could get the best in business it should. He is knowable, professional and kind. He also is affordable.

Looking for a cheap, fast and honest smog location go see Andy at AO Smog right next to the after hours. He was quick with only one person ahead of me and he was fast no more than about 30 minutes for the actual smog itself and my price was $39.00 out the door no tax. You really can't beat that. I will be referring others to his shop as I think it was the best out of all 4 smog locations I visited with ALL had higher prices and much longer wait times. Thanks Andy for being available, affordable and understandable. read more

I had to do Smog Certification on my car to renew my license so I called AO Smog at 10:30am when this business open and was told $60 and he told me to come now so I rushed there in 5 minutes. When I got there, there was already someone in shop so I parked my car and walked over to him to let him know that I called earlier and he said I will be next so wait in the car. To make story short, I was not the next person to be served. Somewhere somehow, SUV was next and the another truck. I waited over 1 hour (no explanation of my wait time and I was told rudely SUV is next you parked your car there) and decided not to have my business with AO Smog. I went to go SG SMOG instead and guess what, the price was way cheaper and done in like 15~20minutes? or maybe less and they were a lot more friendly and no confusion as to who is next. I will not go AO SMOG anymore!!!! No THANKS! Can you respect other's time? Guess NOT...... read more

So I'm always skeptical about places that get raving reviews because I always wonder if it's someone related to the business or somehow connected to the business writing positive reviews. But because the price was too good to pass up, my husband and I both took our cars last Friday to get smogs and what I found was not only the price was super affordable, (And I have an SUV) Andy was super friendly. This is the real deal folks. You are not going to find a more reasonable price in Vallejo or the Bay Area as a matter of fact. And you are not going to find a nicer man or a more honest place to get a smog. I can't say enough positive things about AO smog. I am so happy we found this place and believe me every review is 100% correct. I have already recommended AO to my friends & family that live all over the Bay Area! 10 stars and two thumbs up! read more

Bring cash! Easy efficient and quick! Sometimes he does get busy so go early! I've taken all my cars with no issues for the last 3 yrs!!!

This is the only smog check place I've been to since 2016. They are efficient and friendly. Typically a 20 minutes process. Their prices are very fair. They (I'm sure as others) submitted my cert online to DMV. Quick simple. 1st come 1st serve. Found them on Yelp! Yelp is Help! read more

Andy has the best price in town for older vehicles. It is a STAR certified facility located next to an auto service garage behind the Chevron gas station at the corner of Broadway and Lewis Brown. He accepts cash or card payments. Years ago I first met Andy at smog dog on Sonoma Ave. I heartily recommend AO smog I will bring my hybrid vehicle for a smog as well. read more

Great service! A friend recommended that I come to AO smog and Andy took care of me. He showed great customer service. Thank you, Andy!

My beloved Uncle Mike who has since passed away actually referred my Mom. She referred me. When I initially drove there to inquire about the service (time and pricing) Andy was informative and nice. He remembered my Uncle too...yup, he was a character!lol Andy smogged my car in no time flat. I was so impressed with his service that I referred several friends and family members. They too were impressed and now are customers! If you are looking for a great place to smog your vehicle(s) without the hassle and games give Andy a try. I guarantee you will be a happy camper!!! I refuse to go any place else. read more

This place is definitely the best Star Certified Test Only Smog Center in the Vallejo/Fairfield/Napa area. The owner, Andy, is the kindest, courteous, most helpful and quickest smog tester that I have ever been to, and I've been to plenty!! You may not get the pretty, clean wait area with the refrigerator full of free drinks and the tray full of free snacks, and the large screen television or the computers with access to free internet that I have experienced at some of the smog star certified test only centers, but that is not what you come to the shop for! At least I know I'm not! I'm coming in for a smog.test! Andy will give you quick, easy, and courteous service with the absolute, most inexpensive price! You don't even have to do any more check pricing. I am letting you know that Andy beats all the prices at any of the local Star Certified Test Only Smog Centers in the nearby area. So if you ever need a smog check for DMV registration on your car, go see Andy, and tell him that Norma sent you! read more

This is a great, great smog check station. Andy is a super-friendly guy, and I'd feel confident sending either of my two daughters his way. The price was EXCELLENT, and service was quick and efficient, even for a 1-bay operation on a Saturday. For one of those necessary inconveniences (which I'm all for - emissions testing is very important) - this is one of the most painless ways to get it done. read more

Been looking for a good smog test with free test... but can't find a good one... since i contacted AO SMOG, Andy answer the phone, he was polite and kind. so i decided to go and check what are they offering. After doing my research on where to get my car smogged, I came across this business. The filipino flag was what intrigued me since I am full filipino. I called to double check that the $29 + $8 certificate special was still available, and it was. I had to wait a little, but the business is first come first serve, so I couldn't complain. I also forgot to bring my registration that the DMV sent me, and he was happy to use my old registration to accept my smog. This place is the LOWEST price from what I looked at in Vallejo. My brother paid $80, while I only paid HALF. I will definitely be telling my family to come here! read more

I called several smog check stations in the area and Andy's price was about $15 less expensive than his competitors (even with their so-called coupons). Andy was very friendly, thorough, and efficient. I got in and out in under 30 minutes. The total for my car was $36.00. Highly recommended! read more

Very dirty and dangerous location with too many cars, no clear signage and broken glass and other debris on the grounds. Pricing is a nickel and dime approach with Andy who was clearly in a terrible mood if all the positive reviews are to be believed. Takes credit cards but it's an additional fee - either you gladly accept them or you don't accept them but arguing with a customer is poor business practice. Claiming Yelp prices aren't real (when your Yelp was updated by the business owner that same week) is weak. Also, his pricing is no where near the cheapest but his customer service is definitely the lowest. read more
