Got both of my vehicles smogged here before the end of the year. Every time I go, I am usually in and out and almost less than 10 minutes. One of my cars ECU did not have smog readiness because my battery had recently died so it did not pass. Great honest place to get a Smog test. I called ahead to book an appointment, they said come on down only one person in line. I drove down there. The smog test guy was pleasant and said there was only one person 10-15 minutes max. When it was my turn, I gave the guy my DMV note, and he took care of the smogtest pretty quickly. There were no issues, and I was out of there in less than 30 minutes. Fantastic, we will continue to get our cars smogged there. Highly recommend! read more

As returning customer I expected the same technician and setup. However, few things changed here. I tend to stick with one business when dealing with any automotive service; therefore, I was hesitant at first. Previously, this smog station was ran under the name Benicia Auto Care Center (BACC) by Nick. In case you don't know, BACC also provides mechanical service as well. Chieb is the new guy running this smog station under the name Preferred Smog. It remains to be a business tied with BACC. They are now equipped with a new smog test machine. For my particular car, it didn't require to be ran on a dynamometer AKA dyno. The test ran faster than I thought it would be! Cash is preferred due to the fact that there will be a 1 dollar transaction fee on credit cards. Fees such as this is expected on a small type of business so it wasn't a surprise. Also, the smog test price is already competitive and cheaper than most I've come across. Chieb is one cool guy that goes beyond. He noticed a loose hose in my engine bay and he tightened it up and ran a few diagnostic tests to ensure everything ran fine. He was completely transparent. That's what you call excellent business! I'm definitely returning for future tests on my other vehicles. read more

What a wonderfully easy experience. I showed up just as they were opening with my 1994 truck needing to be check. Handed over my keys and registration, he drove in the bay, hooked it up, ran the tests and 15 minutes later I was done. Piece of cake. Great customer service. Went here, had no clue where to heck in, 3 mechanics saw me and didn't offer to help. Waited 15 minutes wanting a smog check without any acknowledgement (and I walked in the mechanics area, they looked at me and turned their heads) Ended up driving 10 minutes to Vallejo for a cheaper smog check with help of YELP, they were friendly and I was in and out in 15 min read more

Needed to get my diesel truck smog didn't really feel like making an appointment . I wanted to show up and right away have somebody do my smog .I called several places but nobody was available till like the next day so I called preferred smog he said come on over he could fit me right away. I went to preferred smog the guy was super nice he took me right away smog my truck without a problem and I was on my way. I would deathly recommend him if you're getting your smog.
