Great experience nice guy reasonable price!!!!! Best place in Vallejo honestly, couldn't ask for better customer service and pricing

I have come to smog dog for years with each of our cars. It's always fast, efficient, and friendly. This morning I pulled up right before opening as I always do. He arrives right on time. Then he proceeds to sit in his car just waiting. He literally waited me out until I left. I sat there for about fifteen minutes thinking he was just fininshing up a call or something but nope, he was just sitting there in his car. When I finally pulled away, he got out of his car to open up. I, in the other hand, headed over to SG Smog Check at 205A Couch Street where I received excellent and efficient service at an excellent price. I left them a five star review on yelp. read more

He was amazing. He was fast and he stayed late to help me. I would definitely recommend him.

The owner went above and beyond to help me. He was such a nice guy, and I will never go to another place again. Smog Dog for the win! I will refer all my friends and family. It's so nice to have a good experience, they are very far and few between. Thanks again man! read more

They should not advertise that they're open on Saturday. Why lie about it? I called on phone on a Thursday and asked the person if they are open on Saturdays and he said yes, we're here at 830 every Saturday. I get there at 815, no one at the smog shop. Their neighbor next door at the mechanic shop asked me if the smog shop was opened today. I told her what they told me Thursday on the phone and she just looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. I waited until 845. No one showed, I went over to SG Smog and they took care of the truck smog and I was in and out of there in 30 minutes. No more Smog Dog for me. read more

I come here 2 or 3x a year to do my car smogs, he's always time efficient and if there's a line he lets me know over the phone. It isn't awkward & at most he takes 5 minutes read more

After several satisfactory prior experiences, I returned on 11/26/24 to have my smog test done at Smog Dog on Sonoma for my reg renewal. This time the place was a total disaster. I didn't get the Techs name, but he recorded all the car data into the shop system. He asked if the car was stock and I told him it was except for the coolant/expansion tank from Moroso. He asked me for a CARB number. I told him the unit doesn't have or need one. CARB governs everything BUT cooling systems. He wouldn't budge and threatened to fail me to CA DMV if I left the premises. I didn't have what he demanded and I wasn't going to hang around indefinitely. Went down the street to A-1 Smog and got the vehicle inspected, tested, passed and transmitted to CA DMV in under 45 minutes. They even honored Smog Dog's Discount Coupon. read more

Excellent customer service and great with my car. Highly recommend!!! I've been going here for years and won't stop!

Super friendly and super fast! I needed a low miles car from out of state smogged for CA registration and he knew everything about the process and even discussed with me whether the car had completed its drive cycle (car has less than 100 miles on it) and what that would mean for smog. Really appreciate the expertise provided during the process as I have never brought a car from out of CA before nor smogged a vehicle w/ low miles. read more

Great rate and quick service. Everything done professionally. Now I'm just adding a few words because I'm required too.

We did not have to wait very long at all. He was fast and it was a good value. He even reminded us that we had a brake light out. He removed it for us, told us to go down the street to Napa Auto Parts to buy a new bulb, and return to him to replace it for us. He was very kind and did not charge us for that. We are very appreciative. We will be back! read more

Price here is very reasonable and no hidden charges at all, always come here to do my smog test

When I called for a price for my vehicle, there was no messing around like other places I called. I was given a price, and a discount that was honored when I arrived. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. It was a pleasure to deal with an honest and professional business owner! read more

My first time ever getting a smog. I called around town for rates and this place was by far the least expensive and had the shortest wait time. The guy was friendly and fast. Will recommend to everyone and will only go here for my smogs. read more

Very quick, kind, and efficient. They're centrally located on Sonoma BLVD. It took about 10 minutes to get my truck smogged and cost less than $50. The person who tested the truck wore a mask, and gave me plenty of space when we needed to exchange documents. Altogether a pleasant experience and I will take my other vehicles there when I need to have them smogged. read more

My favorite Smog station of all time! Patrick was easy to work with and knew how to handle a unique vehicle! Thanks Smog Dog! read more

Credit where credit is due. I called in and was told that they had time to do my car. I showed up 20m later and (David?) immediately went to work on it. Took all of 10 minutes. Price was exactly what they quoted. Great to see a business that does exactly what they promise. Highly recommend them! read more

Second time here for my pickup truck, quick, courteous, no pain smog check. My go to smog check!

Needed a smog check for my DMV Reg renewal. My sister had a good experience here so I went in. The shop is small and clean, no clutter, basic equipment for what they do. Ray is the technician who helped me. Simple process, bring your DMV form and he sets up the car. It was very quick, I definitely appreciated that since I did not make an appointment. Ray was friendly and we got to chatting. I asked if he knew any local shops since I needed some upkeep on my car. He isn't familiar with any near but he offered some solid advice and mentioned a shop he trusts in Vacaville. Based on our conversation I feel good about trying that shop in Vacaville. I recommend Smog Dog in Vallejo to anyone needing a smog check! They currently have a coupon on their website so the price was good in my opinion. I will give my review on Vacaville Auto Pro after my service is done. read more

Great customer service and really fast and affordable smogs. There is a discount you can use on Yelp for $30.00 off of a smog.

Had my smog last week and failed due to the removal of battery the technician on smog station didn't tell me about the drive cycle. So after I drive around my car and do the drive cycle I Yelp and I found this smog dog station the place is clean. The guy who helps me is nice, very accommodating and super fast, the price is reasonable. Thanks, smog dog. read more

Went back with Corolla and use the coupon found on the ads sent by mail that has 40$off. Patrick was very professional and knows what he is doing! Same price paid last time, 40. Including certificate sent electronically to dmv. Waiting is very minimal. This will be my smog shop stop for life, as long as they won't change the way their business goes! And will recommend to my friends and family! Thanks smog dog! Truly the best! read more

My brother sent me a Groupon for this place I decided to go in. I arrived and was immediately greeted by a gentleman, I let him know I needed a smog told him I had a Groupon offer. I had to pay an additional 8$ for them to send the smog check to the DMV (which I knew ahead of time as it stated that in the offer). I was in and out of here in ten minutes. Good deal and fast service! read more

This place is great. Convenient, reasonably fast, friendly, great price. All you would look for in a smog shop. Thanks!

We've been going here for a smog for a few years now (2, maybe 3 years). I always get the Groupon, it's such a good value. You just have to pay ($8.25) for the smog certificate. The man who does the smog is polite and efficient. We get great service every time we go there! read more

Quick and easy! They are also safe during COVID-19. They practiced social distancing and wore masks. I appreciate that!

One of my least favorite things about moving back to CA is getting my car smogged! It's the worst. But these guys made it convenient and easy. And they honored my coupon from Benicia Grapevine so it cost less than $40 with no wait. Very cool! read more

This place rocks! Still 5Stars *****! *****Update***** New Ownership! The new business owner is really cool! I called last week and he was able to squeeze me in for an early appointment. Awesome! Since Andy now longer owns the place (moved on for new ventures), the new owner Sayed has been doing this for over 15 years. Andy wanted to make sure to leave this in good hands, and he did with Sayed. Same everything, (machines, office, etc.) Nothing has changed. Just ownership. Look for ValPak coupons, but not necessary because he beats/matches other smog test facilities. So don't be afraid to call and ask for pricing. He's really fair!!! I'm sure to tell all my friends and family, since we all need this done in Cali. Thanks Sayed, I appreciate you for squeezing me in for busy schedule and for getting the test done quick!!!! -E read more

I've gone to this place 3 times and they never disappoint!! They're always very kind and always very efficient! Keep it up!!!!

I used to come here under the previous owner and name, but as Smog Dog the service is still quick, efficient, and cheap (while realizing the entire smog check business is a State run scam). If you get the right coupon you can be out of here in 5 minutes and spend no more than 30 dollars, certificate included. This place really can't be beat. read more
