I had one of the BEST experiences today at Royal Smog and Mechanic. I got there around 8:50am, and I was in need of a headlight and brake light inspection. Sebastian was warm, genuine, extremely helpful and accommodating. The inspection took a few hours, but I knew I was in good hands. Upon my return, I met the rest of the team who were all welcoming. It was a blessing they were able to squeeze me in today, considering how busy they are. I'm recommending Royal Smog and Mechanic to all my friends and family, as they do a great job with all aspects of automotive safety and repairs. read more

At the recommendation of my father-in-law, I brought in my 2017 Buick Regal GS to address an oil leak, steering issue, and potential suspension issue. Prior to bringing my vehicle to this shop, I received diagnostics from a dealership and a major retail chain auto shop. Ultimately Royal Smog & Mechanic figured out the actual source of the oil leak was, found the source of my steering issue, and fixed everything within a fair amount of time. Communication was excellent and pricing was great. I'll be returning to get my brakes and shocks replaced within the near future. Overall, customer service is great, they provide high quality work, and I highly recommend this business. read more

I came in for a smog test. Had to ask for the price most Smog stations charge. They found that my oil was low. They wanted to charge $100 to change the oil. All that was needed was to add some oil which they would not do. read more

I'm so grateful to the guys who helped my classic 1989 Volvo 740 GL sedan pass smog for the next couple years. After having so many different car woes within the past 2 years...it was such a relief to have a back up hooptie to roll in. Went to another trusted smog center in town who were unable to pass the car because I had an after market part installed that made it impossible to get a true reading from the muffler. I was then reccommended to Royal Smog who took me in at the end of the day. The Bmod (Boss man on duty) Sam & his team were able to diagnose0 the problem. (I was chauffered home by the boss himself; who also happens to be nice on the eyes(lol).I only had to wait a day for my muffler to be fixed and have the Volvo running like brand new. It cost me a few Benjamin's...but well worth passing smog for another 2 years and is a quiet as a mouse when im rollin around town. If I decide to keep this car for a little while longer...im definitely coming back for future tune-ups! Ciao for now... read more

Scam artist at its finest. I bought a car salvage title so I need a break and lamp inspection which was to expense most place charge $150-200 they wanted $260 and smog test to register. I'm a mechanic my self been working on cars for over 15 years. So when I purchased this car I knew what I was looking for. Nothin was broken and breaks are fine this place broke a pcv valve to fail the smog and said the break pads and rotors or to worn I checked with a measuring tool have more then 50%. All in all they stole $325. To fail me and wanted to charge me $1800 in repairs. I priced out everything myself parts came out to be $170. So labor $1650 I don't know about you but that crazy. Don't go there highly recommend close this place. read more

I tooK my 2017 Nissan Altima to Royal because the oxygen sensor was not being recognized to pass a smog test. Even the Nissan dealer was at a loss on how to proceed. "Sam" thoroughly explained how they were going to go about completing a drive cycle on my vehicle. I left my car overnight and by mid-morning the next day Sam called to give me an update. A few hours later my car was ready to be picked up AND PASSED THE SMOG TEST!! I was charged a reasonable price for the work performed and the staff was professional and knowledgeable. If your needing a smog test or other vehicle items fixed CHECK OUT ROYAL SMOG & MECHANIC. p.s., Sam's dad even drove me to pick up a rental while they worked on my car. EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

The staff was so nice i love the place including Ameer and sam they gave me love and a good price

avoid these scammers. took my vehicle in for a smog which they fail while having ce certification. Would not even refund my $90. Was even told to look for a smog owned by an asian with her girl on his lap because they are dumb and would pass my vehicle. Took my vehicle to BAR and car passed with no problem. read more

DISHONEST. This mechanic tried to charge me $75.,00 for an inspection of my car to drive for UBER. Uber recommends a maximum $45.00 charge. This mechanic claimed this was a 45 minute job. I have had this done previously; the time involved is substantially less than 15 minutes and requires nothing but a visual 12 point check. I have filed a formal complaint with Uber about this dishonest mechanic. DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS HERE. THESE PEOPLE ARE DISHONEST AND UNTRUSTWORTHY. read more

Awesome work. Took my car in. Told them what needed to be done. And an hour later ready to go. Thank you Sam and crew!

DO NOT COME HERE!!! Worst type of experience with a mechanic shop, deeply untrustworthy. Brought car here after a breakdown and then extorted for storage fees before I was able to take my car away, despite being told my car could sit on the lot free of charge while arrangements were made. Sam (employee) was making up charges on the spot and would not give me my own car keys until i provided additional payments. There was no invoice, no itemized or systematic fee schedule, and wildly incorrect calculations of owed fees. I have never experienced such blatant robbery by a business. Do not trust this shop. Go anywhere else. read more

Sometimes, in moments of vulnerability, we are raked over the coals! On rare occasions we are introduced to a situation that is too good to to true. They usually are. Then, on that tenth time, when all reasonable people would give up, you meet someone that is as good as their word. One of the rarest people you can meet. I met two at the same business. They could have come back with excuses and empty platitudes. They diligently delivered on their word even when it was evident another day was required. Thank you Sam and your dad is a hoot! Much success in all your endeavors. read more

I went there for the first time because the regular Smog shop was closed. I was told it was $98 and when asked for any coupons, I was advised there aren't any. The employee gave me a $10 off coupon as a courtesy. A friend of mine got theirs for $48 by walking in. I was not even told there are Yelp coupons. I messaged the business via Yelp and there was a lack of professionalism. I will never go there again! read more

this is a very good place to go i took my lincoln there for a smog and they gave me a fair price THE BEST PLACE IN VALLAJO!

As a person with years of business and sales experience, not once in my life have I had to pay someone's overtime wage. They were going to charge $100 for a smog check because of "Overtime", who in their right minds comes up with that? Trying to justify a client paying your wage is insane. Immediately left and got it smogged down the street for a normal price of $65. Would not recommend. read more

I used Royal for the first time today for a smog test and they were superb! I called first, Marwan quoted a price and said I could come right then and be taken care of right away- and he was true to his word. I was in and out in 15 min (maybe less?). Sam took care of the test, Marwan came out and introduced himself, they were both polite, nice and very welcoming. Marwan even offered my daughter a juice and said she could stay awhile (she was lounging on the faux grass ). Overall an excellent experience and we will be back! read more

Very disappointed in the service, mechanic ran over my key fob for my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, destroyed beyond repair, and instead of replacing it which could only be done through the Jeep dealership the owner contacted a mobile locksmith and provided me a key that can only be inserted into the starter entry the electric functions of the fob no longer work, I cannot remotely open the hatch to my Jeep and must manually insert the fob into the entry to start the car. I have been to this location before to have my brakes and rotors replaced, less than 2 years later after going to another tire shop I was told my rotors were warped and were not new and my brake pads were very very low, would not recommend this repair shop at all! read more

This place is so great, i felt safe here and didn't feel like i was getting ripped off, i feel like i saved more here than any other shop i could've gone to. this is my second time coming to this shop and both times Sam went above and beyond to make sure i was taken care of. First time he did tons of work after i got in a small accident and my car was running great after, this time around my car was in a hit and run and he really went above and beyond to help me out, sadly my car was salvaged but he made sure that i was taken care of and was willing to help me with anything i needed and even gave me great advice on next steps. i will definitely be coming back here for anything i might need in the future and recommend this place to anyone with their car needs! read more

It's been almost a week since my car was at the shop and my engine died on me on the road. I just towed it home. The person who was working on my car was on it all day? I went in at 11am and left at 5pm. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and charged hella for nothing now. I gave them a good rate and now I am giving them a poor rate. Why did they say they changed it and couldn't find what was wrong and my car died on me. I have someone else to check it out and they said it's a timing of the engine and a misfire that is wrong. Why couldn't they figure this out when it was at the shop all day? Super mad read more

But wait... there's more. Inspecting the whole pile of paperwork, I discovered that Royal Smog had given me an emissions test result for a DIFFERENT 1991 Japanese vehicle, a Mazda truck, license 37861F3, VIN JM2UF1238MO167429, which is dated 10/28/2023. I had wondered how they had gotten an exhaust gas sample, since Vallejo Smog could not get their equipment to measure my car, indicating that there was excessive dilution of the exhaust stream. I have since gotten Acapulco Mufflers, where I was sent by Vallejo Smog, to remedy the defective Resonator and muffler, at a cost of $360.49, work I actually needed. Royal Smog fraudulently supplied me with the documents concerning this 1991 Mazda truck as if they had actually tested my vehicle. I have now spent $846.98 in an effort to achieve compliance with CARB requirements. I am forced to avail myself of the CARB Referee Program Repair cost waiver, An important part, $297, of the burden of this goat rope is due to the fraudulent test and repair billing from Royal Smog. I am reporting this to the CARB helpline, helpline@arb.ca.gov. This shop does not deserve to have a license to fix tricycles. read more

2 VEHICLES SMOGGED IN LESS THEN 20MINUTES WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT!! Let me tell you I was so impressed with this place because they got me in and out so quick without an appointment. The shop was busy but their customer service was great. From the phone call I made to getting everything taken care of and me outta there, the speed and attention to detail was awesome. They even have a nice open area patio like sitting for customers. While there I kept seeing Sakher everywhere helping his employees getting his hands dirty and talking to all the customers and parts delivery guys he was Enthusiastic and friendly with everyone. His employees were busy and happy bees working on different projects and performing different duties. They were a diverse mix just Vallejo is a melting pot of races and background. ROYAL is a "ONE STOP SHOP" this place does everything from SMOG CHECK, DIAGNOSTIC for just in case u our car doesn't pass smog, s o they do MECHANICAL work, MAINTENANCE work and BODY work. But the thing that sold me was when I saw him take his credit card tell one of his many employees to go get lunch whatever they want all on him. Sakher was kind enough to ask me if I wanted to eat with them too. We don't often see people treat workers well, so when I do I give them props. As Mr. AMAMREH explained his shop can meet the customers needs at their budget points meaning you can take your fairly new Mercedes-Benz here or old well Seasoned car here and they will work with you. Thanks alot guys I will spread the word and will surely see you guys soon. Our world needs more Love and today I witnessed Sakher and Royal Smog and Mechanics doing their bit to that end. read more
