I have been here before and knew they were reliable, so I went on a weekday morning. There was one car ahead of me, but Eric got me out of there in under 10 minutes. Excellent work! read more

I visited here to have tests ran on my '07 Honda and I must say that the guys here place an emphasis on customer care and satisfaction. Special shout out to Johnathan who made the customer experience swift and convenient whilst also being transparent about pricing. Speaking of pricing, the prices here are FAIR, something that can't be said for most auto repair shops. Marin auto impressed me with their good business practices and overall appreciation shown towards customers. read more

My catalytic converter was stolen and after getting it installed in another place, I asked Marin Smog if they do shields. Glad I did! I'm very happy with the customer service (namely Johnny) and very reasonable pricing. read more

Quick and easy smog check on my 1996 Caddy. Unlike some other places, it's good to see they indicate upfront which year cars get the low price smog check versus older cars like mine that require tailpipe testing and a bit higher, but competitive cost. read more

I needed to get a smog done and was waiting for smog coupons through the mail but I haven't gotten any so I decided to Yelp it and find a smog location to go to. This business Marin Smog had a few great reviews so I decided to take my car their. I first looked at their website and they are offering 30 dollars off if you mention their website. I called and the man on the phone said come right over ,no appointments so I did and I'm happy that I did. The gentleman was super nice, very fast service, and he seemed to me caring and honest. I will definitely take my car there from now on. I usually don't review but Marin Smog was worth the time. read more

I've brought 5 vehicles to Jon at Marin Smog and he's always been direct and honest. He gets you in and out quick so you can continue on with your day. People always say, "You get what you pay for." This isn't the case at Marin Smog, you get MORE than what you pay for because the service is excellent at an affordable rate! read more

It doesn't look like much, but service here is great. Came in for a smog check, passed, was out the door within 15 minutes. My dad is a regular and they recognize the customer loyalty with a couple bucks off services sometimes. There was only one guy there but again, very quick and efficient. read more

I brought my car to Marin Smog on a busy Saturday. There were two cars ahead of mine. I considered going to another shop, but being greeted by a friendly, personable, helpful technician was enough to make me stay. To my surprise, I was in and out within the next half hour and I passed! read more

This place is the best in smog pricing in the entire town! The only down side is that they weren't good at following up when they were done. But maybe because they were so busy! Maybe they need just one more person working there to do the admin stuff read more

Yelp told me that they are open at 9 am. I went in on a Friday. Waited 20 min for somebody to show up with no luck. Bad business. Will not be returning. read more

I came bc of the reviews. I was not disappointed! WONDERFUL service. I know nothing about cars. They thoroughly informed me on the issues and gave me proper solutions. They did not lie or cheat me like you expect in general ppl to do. DEF will be back! read more

This place has become our go-to for smogging all of our family cars. Jon is always friendly and professional. Service is quick, courteous and inexpensive. read more

Fast cheap friendly people. Trustworthy worker. I have been getting my smog test here for a long time.

Hello Yelp! My uncle and I went to get our van smogged here. Jon, the owner, went above and beyond to get our van properly diagnosed to have it pass smog. Turned out our 02 sensors were bad. After a quick trip to the store and a few minutes under the car, I took it back and passed smog with flying colors. I will be going back to Jon and I will recommend his shop to a friend. Cheers! read more

My experience with Vallejo Marin Smog was very pleasant. Service was quick, friendly and professional. I would definitely come back again in the future! read more

Excellent service! Marin Smog was recommended to me back in 2002 and the service was so good I used them for all my smog test needs at the time. Haven't needed a smog test in several years but last month I had to get one for an older Explorer. They've changed locations - just down Sonoma Blvd. a few blocks - but the service continues to be awesome. John, the manager, was kind , courteous and efficient. And access from the street is super easy. Would highly recommend and will be returning when my next smog test is due! read more

been here 4 times or so with 2 or 3 different vehicles. smog tech is a nice guy, and there isn't much of a wait. smogs fast, handles cars carefully. i like their prices too and free retest if car fails. only had to cash in on that once. cool smog place, i'm picky and i shopped around before i decided on this place and i'm glad i became a customer. read more

Technician was very nice and accommodating. Most importantly, the price he quoted me was fair enough and much lower than Vallejo Smog Test Only Center. He charged me $48 comparably lower than the $60 being charged by the other center. I was out in about 15 minutes. More importantly, the technician was friendly. read more

I needed a smog check to renew my car registration and I was trying to find the best price in town. I went down the street to another smog check station and before I walked in I checked the Yelp reviews. Thank goodness I read it because it was not good. So, I drove up and stopped at Marin Smog and inquired on the price. It was reasonable and the technician was very courteous. I decided to go for it. He was able to take me immediately and it only took about 15 minutes. I was pleased with the whole process. I was also later able to register my car online. I would highly recommend this company! read more

I really like this place. It is little but friendly. I have brought 2 cars in so far. The price was $20 less that what I used to pay. It is one guy who owns the business. He is professional and gets everything done fast, takes credit cards too. It was a pleasure to go there. I highly recommend it! read more

I ended up at Marin Smog after showing up to two other smog places that were not STAR certified. Because I had been referred by the guys at Sonoma Smog up the street, the gentleman immediately gave me a $6 discount. He also acknowledged me right when I walked up (it's often hard to tell where to go with auto garages) and let me know exactly how long I'd need to wait for my car to be smogged (5 min.), as well as how long the smog would take (10-15 min.). Very quick, great service, and you've got to love a discount. read more

Excellent service....highly recommend if you are looking for an honest, efficient smog place!!

This place was terrible! They were letting the car fumes come into the office by leaving the door open and were smoking in the office too. They said I could pay $50 and that they honored competitor coupons but with the $25 off coupon my total was $63. They wound up charging me $40 after failing me and not being able to explain why I failed (they failed everyone there today) and even though I had heard from everyone including reviews and their site and former customers that they retest for free they said they would retest me for $35. Also they couldn't make change for a $5 which is just ridiculous. Do not waste your time here! read more
