They've been known for their catering forever, which means they buy in bulk, and when they decided to open up a café I was overjoyed. Now I probably visit 1-2 times a month (if not more), and somehow I love it more every time. The café is small and quaint, so it definitely gets busy during peak lunch and dinner hours, but it is worth the wait tenfold. Prices are fantastic thanks to their catering side of the business. You can even check out the counter with cold entrees to take home at amazing prices, and don't get me started on the pastries. Incredible, amazing. Get the lemon bar and thank me later. The café itself has everything you could want: drinks, adult beverages, coffee, salads, sandwiches, seafood, and yes, breakfast all day. I've been obsessed with their newer salmon orzo plate, which is currently around 22 dollars and would easily be 35-45 dollars anywhere else. Their appetizers are all delicious and actually filling. The Caesar salad is my favorite in the city and everything is scratch made. The owners clearly love their business and it shows. They're often out chatting with customers and making sure each visit feels top notch. For some people it might feel a little "out of the way," but for me in northwest Omaha I'm just grateful it is in my area, and either way it is absolutely worth the drive or commute. I could go on and on, but when you do go, say hi if you see me there, because there's a good chance I'll be at a corner table happily eating something.

I used to be obsessed with this place but over time, they haven't been able to maintain the consistency I look for an a restaurant. I feel like something changed with their pizza crust. I used to rave over their pizza and the toppings are still pretty good, but the crust somehow is softer and blander, and it gets soggy after sitting out for more than 20 minutes. Not sure what's going on there. I also used to love how fresh their burgers were, and how they came out so juicy and perfectly cooked with a little bit of pink in it as I requested. I don't know if they switched to frozen burgers or are just doing it differently now, but they don't feel as handmade. They come out a bit on the dry side now. Unfortunately, I've also noticed that service isn't as friendly as it used to be. It used to be a lot more of a neighborhood vibe. Now the servers seem agitated and treat you like an inconvenience at times.

But the other time was fantastic, when we tried the Grandma, a build-your-own with sardines (both on regular crust), a side of meatballs, and a side salad. The meatballs are perfect: soft, great flavor, good size, with fresh tasting marinara and fresh basil. I loved the little, tangy, salty sardines! Wonderful, and they didn't make the pizza soggy. The salad dressing is also good--simple, delicious, tangy. There are also a selection of Italian sodas and Mexican Coca-Cola. I tried one of the Sicily lemon sodas and it was delightful--the aromatics of the lemons shine beautifully through the velvety fizziness. I enjoyed the ambiance here, too. Just a few small tables along a wall, with bench seating on one side and chairs on the other side. The big windows letting in plenty of natural light are so nice! And all of our servers have been so patient while we decided, answered questions, and even helped us find the perfect combination for the day! I always appreciate great customer service. One caveat: I don't know why, but the ladies' bathroom door was incredibly hard to open/close! I actually just stood outside the door so my girlfriend could use the bathroom in peace! But it wasn't like that when I went before with my husband and one of our sons, so I don't think it's an always issue. But a sometime issue like this is worth looking into fixing, because my friend would not have been able to close/open the door, and I can imagine other, weaker ladies, grandmas, etc., having a problem, too.
