Not sure what's goin on with the place. The workers are almost incompetent to be honest, usually we get them late night for dinner but there's always multiple things going wrong with the order. It's either food missing, incorrect drinks, or incorrect order. Keep in mind we order normal things on the menu, and don't customize it cause we know it's too hard for them to have the order correct. Today we went to get two breakfast burritos & 12 rolled tacos. They gave us 5 rolled tacos, and charged us for 12. They were overcooked. The breakfast burritos, please don't try to get them if they include potatoes. It taste like you're eating a mash potato burrito and egg with a small amount meat. I couldn't eat more than two bites of my breakfast burrito because it literally tasted like mashed potatoes w bacon wrapped in a tortilla.. it's disturbing. They gave us two Diet Pepsi instead of regular Pepsi, when nicely asking the guy if he can switch it regular Pepsi, they argue. "I know what I'm doing" it's 6:30 am sir. Do you think I want to argue over you giving us the wrong drink? Can we please have workers that aren't lazy, hard of hearing, and ready to argue over nothing. I eat here often and you can't beat your taco salad or the nachos. Unfortunately today I got some jalapeno poppers and it was only a six pack, but they were not hot and two of them actually still were cold in the middle. I have ordered from Abelardos many times for delivery. One of the few places I can get a tamale, and that's my favorite thing from this place. They have a delicious Pina drink which is always super refreshing and addicting. The best drink ever. I have also tried sope which I didn't like so much, carne asada tacos which are okay but they give you a really gross guacamole with it. It's really runny and not authentic or freshly made at all. Went to 120 and Fort tonight, April 9 2025. Got two orders of rice. The size has been reduced to about 1/2. We go there often and they frequently get the order wrong (tonight they forgot our hot sauce) but this is the first time the food was bad. The rice was mostly very hard kernels. Almost broke a tooth. Didn't cook it I guess. Gone too far downhill. That was our last trip. Plenty of good Mexican food all over the city. read more

As I rolled north from Texarkana, I noticed the taste of Mexican food rolling to bland. In the case of Adelardo's the value of my steak burrito was excellent, but it had too little flavor. The proportion of steak to other ingredients was excellent, and the steak was not the cheap stuff, rather lean and tender pieces. The flavor was downright limp-wristed, a taste sensation that seems to work in Omaha where there exists a culture that grew up on Gefelendcockapherer from the old country, or something like that. We ordered two breakfast burritos and a kids meal. We got a bean burrito and the adult version of what the kid meal was supposed to be. So they shorted us half our order and the half that they gave us was completely wrong. We also asked for the amount of salsa that we needed and they gave us half of what we needed. This place is getting 5 stars from me for a few reasons. The first reason is the salsa bar. I love the guacamole salsa which is awesome. I think in total they have 5 salsas to choose from. Second reason is that they are the only place in Omaha that serves fried shredded beef tacos (that I know of). This is not a hard taco which is also on the menu. For those that aren't familiar with this item they take a soft corn tortilla and add the shredded beef. They then fry the taco shell and meat which makes the shell crispy. After frying they fill the taco with lettuce and cheese. These tacos tend to be a tad smaller than a traditional hard taco since they are using the soft corn tortillas that usually accompany street tacos. None the less well worth the $$. Just order 3 if you are used to the size of the hard tacos. I also have to give a shout out to the many burritos. Having moved here from San Diego I had my share of great Mexican food and authentic taco shops. The burritos here are legit and good size. I like the California or the Carne Asada. What makes a good burrito? The tortilla and this place has that. Beans and rice are also tasty. I usually order a side of both. The place has a drive thru but I always go in to take advantage of the salsa bar. When my wife and I crave authentic Mexican food this is our go to. read more

Went here yesterday for lunch. Dined in. Ordered a shrimp burrito (no pico) + sour cream and a medium drink. Total was over $15. When my order was called they called it out by what it was and she looked directly at me. I started to eat my burrito and after a few bites realized I wasn't getting any shrimp in my mouth. I was getting random bites of chicken though..I also started to taste potato. Because I was with coworkers and pressed for time I just ate what I could until I was full, which ended up being about half the burrito. Great value for the price and service! I'm a big fan of all the Abelardo's in town, simply because they do a great job at texmex and street mexican food. My guilty pleasure is the chimichanga (fried burrito, you cannot go wrong) and they make a darn good Tamale too. So disappointed. Went through drive thru on 3 different occasions, all 3 times the order was either wrong or incredibly sub par. First time, ordered a chimichanga and received an eggs and chorizo plate. Great authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. Their Taco Tuesday's are a great deal, basically it's 5 tacos for five bucks. This night we did 10 tacos, 5 beef and 5 chicken. The best drive thru Mexican restaurant in Omaha. It's drive thru, not fast food. Be prepared to wait 5-10 minutes for your order if your only behind one car...longer if it's busy. I believe it's worth the wait. I always get the carne asada taco and it's over stuffed with chunky nibblets of steak. It's a little salty but I love it. The chips and queso is a bit spicy.
