Lincoln burrito
Olyvia K.

I got the Lincoln burrito (a breakfast burrito) that has eggs, bacon, potatoes, sour cream, and cheese at 7:45 PM. I love how you can get breakfast here all day! The burrito is about 10 inches long it's huge and definitely worth the price of $9.99. Service was super fast and great! The tortilla is definitely homemade. I am in love with this burrito. It is really tasty. I definitely will be coming back soon! Every time at D'Leon's at each location I have been at has been a great experience. I am excited to try more of their menu items in the future!

Two "mini" carnitas tacos

Time for an update! I think I've found mu groove with D'Leon's. It's fast, cheap and good, especially for the price. Sometime you need a giant burrito to kick a hangover to the curb (or rather send me to bed in a food coma). The carne asada burrito is always a clutch go-to. The chile relleno is also quite satisfying when you're going veg. The mini tacos might be the sleeper hit on the menu. For $1.75 each, they are your typical street style tacos -- corn tortillas, whatever filling you choose, topped with cilantro onion and served with fresh lime, salsa and a often a few other little garnishes, depending on the meat you order. Open late on the weekends as well as for breakfast. Hey D'Leon's, I'm a fan!

Chorizo burrito

Firstly, the breakfast burritos are written as $7.49 on the drive thru menu. They don't tell you the price before you give them your card and you also don't get a receipt; I had to check my bank to see that I got charged $8.22 instead. They posted a piece of paper on their drive thru window that says due to the meat deficit, food with meat will have an up charge of $0.50 to $1.50 but doesn't state HOW much it is for each of the items. The burrito itself is large, sure, but without salsa I admit it's a bit bland. Truly not worth another try

I ordered a plane steak burrito and requested that it is only steak and tortilla. No veggies or cilantro inside. They did the opposite and gave me a burrito with lots of guacamole, onion, and cilantro in it: I also asked for 4 carne asada tacos with onion and cilantro and they gave me 1000x the amount of onion. Is this a sick joke? Who eats this much onion? I had a literal mountain of two kinds of onion on my small tacos. Got diced raw onions AND grilled onions on top of my tacos. Super disappointed bc I always rave that Deleons was better then Alvarado's but I don't think I want to go back after this experience.

The items I get are consistently good today I tried the carnitas plate and I was not disappointed. The taste was great and I will have it again. The Horchata and The Cinnamon chips were good also. DeLeons is always a good stop for me.

Very good authentic San Diego style Mexican food. Breakfast burritos are terrific. Recommend: steak and egg burrito add guacamole.

Hashbrown burrito. I've spent way too much money at this place for what it is, but it's delicious!

It's super cute inside, with so many bright colors, neat Día de los Muertos murals along the walls, colorful pendants strung on top of the dining area, and a very cool bar with a patterned, arched shelves. Even the dishes and cups are fabulous, with earthenware mugs, blue Talavera style dishes and bowls, and even branded El Milagro margarita glasses. Now more importantly, the FOOD is just as good as the decor and the dishware. They use extra high quality ingredients, and everything is always served hot and fresh. We have had the birria, nachos, street tacos, flautas, and so many other things when we branch out and try something new. Their drink options are also great, with strong margaritas, crisp cervesas, and tasty cocktails. The service is always fantastic, and they are always hopping with customers, so you know you found a good spot. Best of all, you get pretty large portions, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like some of the newer Mexican restaurants in town. Next time you're thinking about heading to the Texas Roadhouse area, skip the Roadhouse and try El Milagro instead! I guarantee you will not regret your decision.

However, unlike other Mexican restaurants you do have to pay for additional salsa. I went with a house margarita and the benveza beer, and both were good and cold. I went with the steak picaditas. I hadn't had them before but they were similar to a torta, except the base is a very thick corn tortilla. I like the flavor of the steak, tortilla, sour cream and veggies combined. My husband got the birria platter and liked it. It's very similar to Javi's birria. Overall everything was good.

This last visit they had the entire restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day coming up. But, besides the additional decorations the overall vibe is what you would expect for a Mexican restaurant but more. The service has been friendly and fast! The original Margarita is very good and for the price its about 3 servings. The complementary chips & salsa is great and more of a forgotten service nowadays, but great to see that Alegre is still doing it. The homemade tortilla chips are so good so be careful to not fill up on these before the main entrees. Kendra got the Chile Verde which was massive and was enough food for leftovers the next day. And, I had the Ceviche Sampler which is new and definitely worth every penny! It's hard to find restaurants that have ceviche on the menu, but this has been one of my favorites if you love seafood and a repeater for me! If your looking for more of an upscale $$ Mexican restaurant with great food, service and ambiance it's hard to beat El Muchacho Alegre.

The tacos I had were very warm and very filling, I was able to take some home for lunch the next day. The Cantarita was ok, seemed like it wasn't something that is usually made and it seemed more like it came in a bowl than the typical dish ware. The servers were very friendly and was able to help out when we had questions. The place itself was very well decorated and didn't seem cluttered. They have a lot of metallic art so that was pretty cool.

Not only is the food incredible, but the staff are the absolute best and the ambiance is very welcoming and comfortable. We started with some chips and dips, and the queso was delicious. It was the perfect amount of spice but still creamy and cheesy. The salsas were also very flavorful and a great start to our meal. I chose to get the carne asada for dinner and it was absolutely AMAZING. The steak was so juicy and tender, and seasoned to perfection. I was so impressed, and it was perfectly paired with some tortillas de maiz, the guacamole, and rice and beans. I would absolutely get this meal again.
