Super fun restaurant with great food and drinks! I wish I would've tried something else on the menu because I wasn't a big fan of the cantarito I ordered, but the margaritas looked fab on the menu! I've had this restaurant recommended by multiple people and I can say it lives up to the hype. I loved the decor and music playing, the atmosphere was casual and fun. We were sat in a little booth but there are high and low tables and a bar area inside and a patio outside. The patio is shaded, which will be nice in the summer. We had chips and salsa brought to the table, and they were the typical restaurant chips and salsa, nothing special but tasty. I ordered the birria tacos and was so glad I did! They were cheesy, greasy, full of meat, and the consommé was rich and flavorful. The rice was really flavorful and the beans were typical. My husband ordered a cantarito and I thought it sounded good so I ordered one too. They were much bigger than we've had before. They were kind of warm, cherries were added, and it was heavy on the orange juice. I wouldn't order one again, but I would definitely order a margarita. They all sounded so good, and I'd love to try the candy shots! They only came as a set of 4, I wish we could get them individually. Overall, a great experience and looking forward to going back to try more.

My boyfriend and I visited El Muchacho Alegre for dinner. When we got there, the place was packed, but we still got seated pretty quickly. Our food did take a while to come out though and while I know we were there right in the middle of rush hour, I'm pretty sure our order got forgotten because a few tables that sat after us got their food first. That being said, the food was really good. The portions are huge, definitely enough for two meals! I ordered the chiles rellenos and they were delicious. I'm extra picky about rice and beans, and honestly, theirs are some of my favorites compared to other Mexican spots. The patio wasn't open that day because of the weather, but it looked like it would be a great spot for dinner and drinks when it's nice out. I'll probably try to avoid going during rush hour next time, but I'd still go back!

Went here hoping for quality Mexican food and margaritas. It was very busy on a Thursday night, and there is some outdoor seating that was more available. The service and seating was quick, and overall, the service was the bright spot here. I went with the enchiladas Verdes and the house margarita. The house margarita was made from mix and less than stellar (should have read the menu!). The traditional margarita was made with fresh lime juice and definitely hit the spot. I wouldn't order the house margarita again. The food was standard Omaha Mexican food...ground beef in my enchiladas, which is not my favorite (I asked for shredded but I think there was a miscommunication). The service was amazing, our waitress was very attentive and fun. I'd go back for margaritas and chips/salsa, but the food was unimpressive.

So fast!!!! I have never seen a restaurant move so fast before and I work at a restaurant !! Food was so delicious also and drinks were amazing portions were huge food and drink wise. The place itself is huge and has super festive decorations. I was recommended this place and I will definitely be recommending to others also.

Chile relleno, beef enchilada, rice and beans lunch special with horchata. Yumm!! Complimentary chips and salsa.

Service is quick and friendly. The food is delicious and affordable. It's nice inside with a cozy feel. I've been here a few times already and they don't disappoint. I definitely recommend this place.

It's FAJITA MONDAY!! Steak fajitas no less. Seasoned well, tender. Tortilla to condiment ratio was spot on. ... with a starter of what we thought was Corn on the Cob DIP (...it was under the dip category) but ended up with street corn on the cob. Maybe that was just a me assumption? Either way, delish nonetheless! Full transparency, if hot mayo ain't your thing this isn't for.. you. That lime juice sprinkle though... I LOVE a good Chile Relleno and it's always a must try when we stuff our face holes with free chips and salsa, before our very hot dishes came out. Did it trip my trigger? Not really, no. The rice and beans were a great taste, not salty which was much appreciated. The salsa... my kinda salad... 0/10 They've got a full bar, with PLENTY to libations, great HUGE margaritas (sans tonight, fuggin migraines). This could totally be the summer hang out spot for folks!

Another enjoyable experience. Needless to say the Guadalajara Chicken has become one of my favorite dishes served here. Great margaritas as well.

I've been to El Muchacho multiple times and each time I was not disappointed. The food is full of flavor and hot when it comes to the table. (I'm lowkey afraid for the waiters because they run with hot plates in their hands.) The decor is typically what you see at Mexican restaurants; bright, bold colors with some tropical elements. My usual order is chicken flautas with house margarita.

Have been to their other restaurant in Gretna, first time on 72nd. Great service sat in the bar had an amazing margarita and ordered the fajita quesadilla. It was really good. The steak was pretty tender with a good amount of grilled veggies and I really loved their refried beans. Queso dip and chips. Delicious! We will be back!

Very good salsa. Ironically for a Mexican place, a lot of the food needed salt, but was still pretty good. Sadly our service was really bad. The food came out fast but it was one of those situations where we barely ever saw our waiter. It was super busy and he was busting his butt so I wasn't mad at him but it really hurt our experience. Still, looking forward to returning simply because the food was pretty good and there aren't many great Mexican places in Omaha.

Fajita bowl was good as well as the iris burrito. For the $ there are so many options. The staff was friendly, dining area clean.

If you're looking for service for a large party, look no further! I often coming during work with a large group of people. El Muchacho Alegre can handle it all with ease. The service is always fast, kind, and easy. The menu is huge, so it's hard to choose one item. I have always loved their burrito bowls. This place also nails their tamales!!! And the chips and salsa that come complimentary to the table are crispy and flavorful. They also have good specials on week days!

Awesome food!! Hands down the best I've had in along time. I'd put them up against any other Mexican restaurant on in town.

My real hang up with our visit was the server situation. We weren't truly adequately waited on and to be honest it was a little odd. When we were seated we were told our server would be right with us. After 11/12 minutes of just sitting there the gal had come back and asked us if our server had ever come over, which we told her he had not. She explained that she would take our order and then switch it to him later on. She grabbed us drinks, took our order, and delivered our food. Shortly after getting our food, our server came back to us while simultaneously putting on a coat saying that she was leaving and that he would be our server now. He never came back until it must've been obvious that we were looking for our check (keep in mind that our meal took a while to eat because crab is work). The funny thing was that a third server brought the check! It was a weird situation and honestly for the price of the food, service she be better. The food overall had great flavor and the portions were a good size. We tried the calamari and then for our daughter ordered the fried rice and lobster bisque. Everything was pretty good. My husband and I both got crab; I did the garlic butter and he did a spicer Cajun. He said his was great but unfortunately the corn with mine felt like it just was pulled from the fridge. I think this restaurant has great potential but they really need to brush up on service. I'm a little iffy if I would return.

It had 1/2 lb of shrimp, 1/2 lb of crab legs, and 1 piece of lobster tail. It also comes with 2 corn, 2 potatoes, and 1 egg. There are multiple different spices and spice levels you can choose from. I chose the garlic butter Old Bay with medium spice. I loved this spice combination; it was very seasoned, just the way I like it. My husband got the exact same thing but added 1/2 lbs sausage to it and chose the lemon pepper with medium spice and was extremely happy with it. We will definitely be back.

We made a reservation for New Year's Eve, which probably affected service, but the restaurant should be prepared for this. They seemed to only have two servers for the entire restaurant, which is not small. Our waiter was friendly and nearly running from table to table, but he had a lot of ground to cover. I ordered the NYE special, which came with a cluster of snow crab legs, a salad, a scallop dish, and a dessert. The crab legs were good, but of course, messy. A wet wipe would have been nice. The salad came out without dressing, but was good once that was corrected, although small for the price. The scallops were served with Brussel's sprouts, pickled radish, and kohlrabi in a sauce. An interesting mix with good flavor, but it only came with four medium sized scallops for $39. My dining companion ordered the whiskey salmon, which had a nice glaze, and some interesting sides, but the fish itself wasn't great. Not very flavorful and a touch dry. Dessert ended up being some coconut chocolate balls and sugar cookies. Similar to the Christmas cookie plates that we've had on the counter for the past several weeks. The Russian tea cakes promised on the menu were nowhere to be seen. Pretty disappointing. We had some nice takeout from here last year and thought it would be even better in the restaurant. Sadly our visit didn't live up to expectations, but you can see what they're going for. It may have been an off night for them due to the holiday, but there are a lot of other restaurants in Omaha we'll check out before trying Sand Point again.

Owned by a trio of dedicated foodies, this restaurant exceeded all my expectations, and their attention to detail shows. The quality of food, the attentive service, and the fastidiously clean and modern interior makes for a welcoming cozy atmosphere. Vote voted best of Omaha 2025 all I can say is they truly deserve it! Located just north of Dodge at 108th St., the restaurant is conveniently situated with a large parking lot and plenty of space for easy access. The restaurant takes reservations, but I had no challenge arriving mid afternoon for my first visit. I was pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. I was presented a fabulous menu plus specials, which made a hard decision even harder. Offering New England fare, I cannot recall since my childhood on the East Coast, where I saw clam strips on the menu, let alone freshly prepared on site. Cooked to perfection and offering a delightful twist, as the clam strips were served with traditional tartar and Chinese sweet-and-sour sauce. I was offered a complementary taste of their cornbread, prepared by the in-house pastry chef, which was by far the best cornbread I've ever enjoyed. The Portuguese fish stew offered a fabulous Bouillabaisse with plenty of muscles, shrimp, and clams as well as chorizo to fill me up! A full bar, plenty of beers on tap, and a lovely wine list offers great pairings with all the menu items. With their anniversary celebration, there will be specials offered, keep your eyes peeled on their website for menu items and wine offerings through the end of the month. I cannot say enough about this restaurant other than I will be back! I encourage you to check out the best of Omaha, or simply the best, at the Sand Point ASAP!

Update to my Bonefish review: Still 4 stars... some things improved while new issues arose…read more The texture of the mashed potatoes is much improved. In my last review I talked about how chunky and unpleasant they were. There are still some small chunks, but they are soft and the dish is much creamier and more enjoyable to eat. Glad they fixed that. Not sure if they had this last time, but I love the simply grilled menu. Ideal for people who are looking for a nice piece of fish and some sides, and the addition of a small sauce on the side is a perfect way to elevate flavors. Also easy for those who are watching their calories. The timing of things coming out of the kitchen was not ideal for us. The drink came out from the bar maybe a minute before the salad, so it took a while. And then we only had salads for a few minutes before they brought the entrées. They've also introduced those portable POS machines that the servers carry around. I understand there are many pros for these, but honestly, I really dislike them. It makes it really awkward to figure the tip and look at the bill while the server is just standing there waiting for you. It always makes me feel rushed and super awkward. I just wish they hadn't introduced these because in my opinion, it negatively affects the guest experience. All in all some good things, so I'm not so good things, but a solid experience at the Bonefish at Regency.

I've only been here for a Yelp event, but I really enjoyed myself. My friends had been and we were all expecting good food and great service. It started off good with appetizers and our server brought out drinks right away. We were chatting and having a good time until our entrées came out. They were all delicious except for my husband. He ordered a medium steak, but it came out rare. That was fine. They took it back, but it came back a second time a little more charred on the outside, but still RARE. By this time, everybody was about done with their food we were trying to flag down a server find a manager someone can help us. But to our dismay, we honestly couldn't find anyone for a good 20 to 30 minutes. My friend got out of her seat and walked around to find the manager. Sad to say they didn't really care. By the time the server came we let her know and she just said sorry they will remove it from the bill. My husband left last night without any dinner. He only had a few appetizers, but he was done after that. We were very dissatisfied and I don't know if it was because they were short staffed but this was very disappointing. I also wanted to mention how crowded it felt with the tables. When I first got in I went to the restroom to wash my hands and had to maze my way through the tables. When I got into the restrooms, there were chairs stacked up in the women's restroom. It was also very dirty and kind of gross. I know my husband will never want to come back, which is a bit of a bummer for me because I really like the food but oh well. The positive aspects were the rest of us ordered seafood, and that was all great. The sides now come separately and are gigantic. The greeter was friendly and seated us quickly. Despite all the negative, we still had a wonderful time with our friends.

Everything comes out in a big plastic bag in a steel pan. Dump the contents out and prepare to dig in. Let me say that this is not the place to go out all dressed up. The boils are very messy. The interior is a little boxy, but with lots of decor like chandeliers with Mardi Gras beads hanging down, some uplighting, and cute New Orleans pictures on the walls. Our favorite little side/app, are the Boudin Balls, which are kind of like hush puppies, but with a nice helping of remoulade on top. Yum! My fave go-to entree is the Five Pepper Cream pasta, which is fettuccini tossed in a creamy creole sauce, with a huge breaded filet of blackened chicken on top. Another favorite is the Creole Mac, which is a Mac and Cheese, but with a spicy sauce/spices on top, and filled with andouille sausage as well as sliced, grilled chicken. It definitely has a kick, so if you're averse to any heat, then maybe choose something else. And lastly, I sometimes get the Cajun Meatloaf, if I'm feeling like a heavier dish. It is meatloaf, like you've obviously had a million times, but it is sitting in a dish full of grits and sweet potatoes, and topped with a creamy white béchamel sauce. They also have a lunch size portion of this, which I appreciate. And each entree comes with a little slice of cheesy bread, that's great to dip in the extra sauce of your dish! We sometimes also get the desserts, and they have a great crème brûlée and bananas foster. It's hard to find a good bananas foster in Omaha, and theirs is really good, and very large! The service we have had has always been pretty good, but we did have a weird encounter with one server recently. She made a joke about something (I can't even remember what it was), but it was a little bit poking fun at my husband. It was fine and we all laughed a little at it, but what was weird was that she kept coming over and repeating it over and over in different ways. It was a little annoying and awkward. The owner (I think?) was walking around making sure everything was ok and chatting with each table, so he was great - no complaints there. I will say the only other drawback is that it definitely is not an inexpensive place to eat, so you can't return TOO often. But when you do, you better come hungry and it needs to be a special treat. Acadian Grille is one of only a few creole/cajun restaurants in Omaha, so definitely give them a try if you are looking for that style of food - or know it and want to find it in Omaha!
