Portions | Flavor | Open-Mind Portions: This place has an amazing "portions to price" ratio. I always finish my meal, and I had to take food home. I had the chicken fajitas with beans. So, if you go, make sure you bring your appetite, and I would advise against getting an appetizer if you want to finish your meal. Flavor: We had the chips, salsa, and guacamole for an appetizer for the family. Their moderately spicy salsa and guacamole have an amazing, unique, tasty flavor--additionally, the chicken flavoring on the fajitas is unique and delicious. Open-Mind: This place is in an interesting part of town. It is near a truck stop off the highway. Therefore, it does not have great curb appeal. However, this is by far the best Mexican food in the Omaha area. Therefore, do not judge the book by its cover. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of Mexican food. Pro tip: You probably do not need a reservation. The restaurant is large, and there is a good amount of seating inside.

Azteca is awesome! It has its own flavoring and unique taste which I love and that's what keeps me coming back. I do not steer away from the menu, I always get the chicken fajitas, they are my favorite fajitas from any place! They are served with guac, lettuce, and sour cream and your choice of tortillas, flour is top tier for my fajitas. The service is always fast, also nice to be brought a pitcher or water so I don't have to keep bothering the server for a refill! Almost as soon as you are sat, you are usually greeted with a full plate of delicious, thin chips, a delicious bean dip, cabbage mix, and a delicious mild salsa! Luisa is usually the one who drops that off, she's awesome and so friendly! The menu is so big, plenty to choose from for groups and even kids! It is a nice and relaxed atmosphere inside with music playing low!

Nothing fancy, basic Mexican fare and the food was good. Veronica, our server, was fabulous. I like that they give each table a pitcher of ice water. Also that there are several sauces for the chips. The Arroz con Pollo recipe was unique compared to others with mushrooms, peppers, and red sauce. The tacos and tostada were pretty standard. The churros were very tasty. They had Bavarian and caramel.

My husband's family and I headed out to Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Omaha, NE last night. We got pretty lucky on timing - showed up on a Thursday at 6 pm, and it wasn't too packed yet (it got full later, though). Our server was super nice and patient with the in-laws who are older and a bit hard of hearing. He really went out of his way to make everyone feel comfortable. The food here is amazing! Azteca knows how to deliver some serious flavor. First, they start you off with 3 types of dip and a bowl of chips, and they are SO. GOOD. And the chips are homemade, I think. I ordered an avocado tostada and enchilada. It was huge and tasted awesome. My husband is a vegetarian, and he absolutely LOVED the veggie burrito. They ave a few different options for veggie loves, which he always appreciates. The ambience could be a bit better, and when it gets packed, things can get loud, so it's not exactly the spot for a quiet conversation. Overall, Azteca is pretty great - it's an awesome spot to get your Mexican food fix, and everything is really fresh and tasty.

Food was very good! The service was ok, she was very friendly but it took a very long time to get anyone to greet us or take our order. They were busy thou so many just short staffed. But food was delicious and loved the slaw with the chips they give when you get there!

Came for dinner here recently. Prior visits have always been great...friendly greeting, smiling servers and quick to take drink and food orders.. Unfortunately, this was far from our experience this time. Dining area was totally dead, our server was not to be seen. My husband was ready to leave. No drink order, no interest to see if we'd been taken care of. Finally, some one showed up. Food came quickly along with a few beers. Food was to be expected and as we had remembered it in the past. Our server never really stopped at our table. All she did was breeze by while talking, not sure she was speaking to us. Disappointing experience. Doubt we'll return.

We saw the reviews and decided to try it. The boys loved their tacos and burger! My husband was very pleased with his fajitas, but I wasn't as excited about my food. Maybe I wasn't really feeling Mexican, but I felt the enchiladas were not as great as they could be. My plate was crazy hot (as told), but the corners of my food were burnt because of it. I had to wait a good 5 minutes before I could even attempt to taste my food. I'm all about my food being hot but holy cow this was insanely hot! My cheese was crispy even. Once I could try it the taste was ok. They had flavored everything nicely, but i guess I was turned off by presentation to really give a try comment. I definitely want to come back to try to up their rating since everyone else was pleased.

Amazing food with so much flavor! The service was friendly, attentive, and quick, and the restaurant was clean, quiet, and inviting. I would definitely come back!

Every table gets free chips, hot salsa, refried beans & coleslaw! The Margarita is an up charge!

Best Burrito Colorado in town!! Made with chunks & shreds of beef that tastes like it's been in a slow cooker for hours making it nice & tender!! This burrito has added beans & rice mixed in with the beef making it one huge burrito full of flavor!! On top is a dollop of guacamole & sprinkle of diced fresh tomatoes . There's a nice zesty spread of red sauce covering the entire burrito!! Making it my #1 favorite in town!! Every table gets free chips, hot salsa, refried beans & diced coleslaw! The house margaritas are flavorful & go down easy!

It's super cute inside, with so many bright colors, neat Día de los Muertos murals along the walls, colorful pendants strung on top of the dining area, and a very cool bar with a patterned, arched shelves. Even the dishes and cups are fabulous, with earthenware mugs, blue Talavera style dishes and bowls, and even branded El Milagro margarita glasses. Now more importantly, the FOOD is just as good as the decor and the dishware. They use extra high quality ingredients, and everything is always served hot and fresh. We have had the birria, nachos, street tacos, flautas, and so many other things when we branch out and try something new. Their drink options are also great, with strong margaritas, crisp cervesas, and tasty cocktails. The service is always fantastic, and they are always hopping with customers, so you know you found a good spot. Best of all, you get pretty large portions, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like some of the newer Mexican restaurants in town. Next time you're thinking about heading to the Texas Roadhouse area, skip the Roadhouse and try El Milagro instead! I guarantee you will not regret your decision.

However, unlike other Mexican restaurants you do have to pay for additional salsa. I went with a house margarita and the benveza beer, and both were good and cold. I went with the steak picaditas. I hadn't had them before but they were similar to a torta, except the base is a very thick corn tortilla. I like the flavor of the steak, tortilla, sour cream and veggies combined. My husband got the birria platter and liked it. It's very similar to Javi's birria. Overall everything was good.

The original Margarita is very good and for the price its about 3 servings. The complementary chips & salsa is great and more of a forgotten service nowadays, but great to see that Alegre is still doing it. The homemade tortilla chips are so good so be careful to not fill up on these before the main entrees. Kendra got the Chile Verde which was massive and was enough food for leftovers the next day. And, I had the Ceviche Sampler which is new and definitely worth every penny! It's hard to find restaurants that have ceviche on the menu, but this has been one of my favorites if you love seafood and a repeater for me! If your looking for more of an upscale $$ Mexican restaurant with great food, service and ambiance it's hard to beat El Muchacho Alegre.

I had three street tacos and then two basic hard and soft tacos. I started with the basics, and was very impressed. The meat was nice and flavorful and somehow seemed....soft? I was initially bummed looking at them because I thought "just lettuce and meat?" But there's some fantastic cheese hidden under the lettuce. The shells were the perfect soft and a crunch. I would love to just have a few of these for the meal and be good! I had the three street tacos- steak, pastor, and carnitas. I was pleased with all three! They were flavorful, moist, and the shells were once again perfect. I very much enjoyed the steak and they had just the right amount of crisp with all of the flavor. You can tell that all of these were made fresh to order. Their house margs were wonderful. They weren't too sweet and you got more than you imagined. When we got the bill, it's noted that there's a discount if you pay with cash, but no added fee for paying with a card; so keep that in mind.
