The space is lovely...we had a bigger group and they seated us at their "swing table" - a porch swing-type seating area that adds to the charm and fun. Great attention to detail with the cocktails...fun glasses and salt rims. I had a really good jalapeño marg! I've been to Taco Co a few times and it's always been pretty good! The chips and dip were a little pricey, but we ordered during happy hour so it wasn't so bad. I always start with chips and queso - you'll want to ask for an additional basket of chips to make sure you get all of the delicious queso. The steak, carnitas and brisket tacos are my favorites! The taco fillings are seasoned perfectly, and have a great balance of meat/cheese/cold ingredients. Their signature puffy shell brings it all together. The tacos seem small at first glance, but are very filling. I also try their monthly rotating tacos every once and a while, and I've yet to be disappointed by their creativity! Their drinks are delicious but a bit expensive for my taste. I typically opt for a $3 corona when they are on happy hour! If you're out in a large group, the pinata drink is a must! It is served in a large ceramic llama and will get the night started right! Their service is good! I often see the same bartenders and wait staff, and they are so friendly. I can typically get in and out in 45 mins and everything comes pretty timely. If you're stopping in during peak hours or during Taco Tuesday, there may be a short wait, but they always keep it moving. read more

Always a pleasant visit to Taco Co! The atmosphere is perfect and speaks "Benson" undoubtedly, and it always seems to be packed on a Friday or Saturday night. The seating is fun and creative, with swings and decorative pillows, and the restaurant is unique and fun. We ordered the queso dip to start, as well as a couple of their adult capri-suns! Pricing on the drink pouches is very reasonable for the amount you get, and the taste on all the ones I've tried are wonderful.. But obviously the real MVP of this restaurant, are the Tacos. No, they aren't traditional tacos, they're giant, poofy, fried tacos. It almost feels like you're biting into a sandwhich with the amount of tortilla, fried to a delicious golden-brown on the outside. I tried the beef, carnitas, and barbacoa on this visit; and to be honest I think the regular ground beef is the real star of the show. It's seasoned well and super flavorful, and probably will be my sole taco order in the future. My girlfriend had the black bean option for one of hers, and said it was actually better than the ground beef... not sure I believe her on that one, but no sense in arguing! The vibe is great- it's an old bank retrofitted to serve food- though the music CAN make it difficult to carry a conversation from time to time. That's par for the course in Benson, one of the most charming neighborhoods in Omaha, though. My biggest complaint is that it's closed two days a week and never open for lunch.
