Delicious fusion food, quiet place with lots of space. Staff was friendly. Would recommend!

This was our first time visiting, and the $2.00 street tacos for Taco Tuesday are what brought us in the door. We were greeted right away and asked if it was our first visit. Since it was, the staff member took the time to explain how ordering works: grab a menu, decide what you'd like, and then return to the counter when you're ready to place your order. While looking over the menu, I noticed they had a "secret menu" featuring birria ramen, which is one of my favorites. I decided to order that along with a passion fruit margarita. The margarita was refreshing and tasted great, but for $11, the portion size felt a bit small. For the birria ramen, I added mushrooms and green onions for an additional $2.50, which I didn't mind paying. However, when the dish arrived, I was surprised by how little broth it contained. There was barely enough to qualify as ramen, which was disappointing. In fact, there was so little broth that I found myself wondering why I had even been given a spoon! That said, the flavors were excellent, and the service was outstanding. While the small drink size and lack of broth in the ramen were letdowns, the overall experience was still positive. Went here on a busy Friday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how smooth everything still ran. Parking was easy with plenty of spots right in front, and there was lots of seating available inside. You order ahead at the counter and they bring the food out to you, which made things quick and convenient. The cashier was very fast and efficient even with the lunch rush. The menu was interesting with a good variety, so it was easy for everyone in our group to find something they liked. I had the birria and carne asada. The birria was good and packed with a lot of meat. The carne asada, unfortunately, was very dry. My husband had the Korean spicy chicken sandwich and fries. He said it tasted okay, but there was way too much sauce and too many toppings, which made it incredibly messy and difficult to eat. Also, not very spicy at all. Overall, the experience was just okay. I might give it another try if I was already in the area, but it is not somewhere I would go out of my way for. read more

I've heard amazing views about this place, it definitely has a very unique menu and flavor profile! Vibe seems to be a blend of Mexican and Asian flavors. I came in with a group of six on a Sunday right when they opened at noon, and it was not busy at all. Probably because this was in the middle of a blizzard! We ordered at the front, and got our food quickly. The fries came out first as an appetizer, and the rest of our meal shortly after. The fries were great, very filling-- thick, cut, fries, absolutely drenched in creamy Rangoon sauce, with a little bit of sweet chili, and topped with crumbled up Rangoon shell. I am very picky about fries with toppings, as I don't like my fries to get soggy, but I did like the flavor of this dish. This was a hit with the rest of the table! I got two tacos, which was a very filling meal for under $10! As far as price goes, this was an exceptionally fresh and flavorful meal. It was plenty filling for me. I am not a huge fan of corn tortillas, so this is my only complaint with a meal. I know this is standard, so it is just my taste. The meat and toppings in these tacos taste it great though! However, nothing exceptional compared to each other response I think. I think the value was the best part of this meal for me. A couple of my friends got brunch, special of hashbrowns with bacon, pork, egg, and sausage gravy. Our full table agreed that this was the winning dish of our visit! It had so much flavor, and the meat was cooked perfectly. I would get this dish if I came again! The interior is smaller than I expected, but does have the second room to sit down. This was more of a casual dining spot than I expected from the reviews I've heard, but that was not a negative to me! The service was good, and we had a great experience. This spot is a order at the counter and sit spot. My friend and I went for brunch (only offered during the weekend), and it was delicious! They have a small menu, but everything sounded good. The two dishes we got were full of flavor. I did not expect them to have a Korean chicken and waffles (due to it being a Mexican restaurant) but it was SO good. The fried chicken is crunchy the slaw is delicious and there is a nice spicy heat level that is a flavor (not burn your face off). . I just love this place. Our Supper Club group ate at The Corner Kitchen and it was such a good choice - everything was delicious and super affordable for what you get! The ambiance is very light and open with white walls and simple wooden tables, letting the food and service do all the talking without lots of bells and whistles in the decor (though there is a time and place for that, don't get me wrong!) Our group started with a few apps: -Chorizo Queso Fries: The fries were super crispy and delicious, and the topping of the chorizo and queso (along with some crumbly cotjia cheese) was so perfect. -Elote Tots: These were tasty little tots covered in a chili lime mayo sauce, corn, and cotija cheese. Yum, definitely recommend these! -Fried Shishito Peppers: I think these were on special when we came, because I don't see them on the menu anymore. But they were so good, so if you ever see them there again, make sure to snag an order! They were similar to fried green beans if you've had those, but with a little kick (since it's a pepper and not a bean), along with a delicious batter coating and dipping sauce that was so great and extra creamy! For my entree, I got the Quesa Birria Tacos, and it was definitely a good choice! It came on a giant black circular plate with the three corn tortilla tacos, a side of beans and rice, and the little ramekin of birria consommé for drizzling over each taco as you go, or dipping if you're up for that. We ordered elote and a spicy elote, shrimp and bacon tacos(special) and the surf and turf burrito. We first received the elote, Beautiful presentation. Only downfall, husband can't have corn on the cob. I cut some off for him and they were both amazing. Then our main courses came and they both had beautiful presentation also. The menu is on a chalkboard on the wall but menus are available to peruse at your table if you wish. They have a mix of Korean and Mexican cuisines. Street tacos were our choice along with a side of fries. The carnitas tacos were served with lime and 2 salsas, a spicy tomatillo and a gentle red. There's a lot going on at The Corner Kitchen. It starts with a strong Mexican influence. Then you add in some Asian styles, a little surf and turf and even a few All-American recipes. Everything on the menu looked good - burgers and other handhelds, burritos, noodles and snacks. I ended up looking past all of it because I wanted tacos. I went with the Korean Pork Taco, the Chicken Sriracha Taco and the Surf and Turf. They were fantastic - especially the Surf and Turf. Filling, too. They were a little larger than your normal street taco and were filled with ingredients. We were in Omaha picking my son up from the airport and had no idea where we were going to grab some food...so I consulted the Yelp top 100 restaurants for 2024 and found this gem! There were 4 of us dining so we decided on a fun mi of things to try. Ended up with the quesa-birria taco, brussel sprout taco, al pastor taco, bang bang chicken sando, nashville chicken burrito, elote bites and kimchi brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious! Food came out one or two items at a time which we didn't mind and actually appreciated! Everything was fresh, hot, and very flavorful! I saw The Corner Kitchen on a best of Yelp 2024 list, so we had to try it while we were in town. It's not a huge space, but they have a lot of seating. We went for lunch on Saturday, and it wasn't too busy. We didn't have to wait long for our food. We shared the elote bites, which were AMAZING. And much bigger than I thought they'd be. A must order!! I ordered a surf & turf taco, and a quesa-birria taco. Both were so yummy. My husband had the surf & turf burrito and loved it. Just went here Sunday for brunch for the first time and I'd say I may pass on the brunch next time and order from the original menu even if it is brunch time. The waffles and huevos rancheros were good, just not mind blowing. Kids loved the French fries of course; I felt they were just good. However, my husband said the surf and turf burrito is the best burrito he's ever had. I actually got the chorizo on the side for my huevos R, but he ate that and said that was pretty good too! we ordered an extra side of bacon and rice, and those were also standard. The inside was pretty chilly in mid-November at the front of the restaurant, but my stubborn family didn't want to move to the back where it was much warmer. Its an interesting set up, like you order from the front counter and then they bring it out to you. Kind of like good lookin if you ever had eaten there. Overall the staff was very friendly and nice. Stoped in for lunch one day, it happened to be a Tuesday so they had a special on for Taco Tuesday which was sweet. I ordered two different kinds of street tacos and my mom got a chicken sandwich. We felt the service was a little slow. We were the only people in there for a while and it took the better part of 20 min for us to get our food. The restaurant is very new and clean though and we enjoyed the art on the walls. The food looked awesome and the Mexican/asian fusion sounded great but the flavor was a let down. I expected nice bold flavors and that wasn't what I got. I The tacos weren't anything special a while they were fine for the special taco Tuesday price, I wouldn't order them again at full price. I also thought they were very small for the price. My mom said her chicken sandwich fasted pretty good and it was a very large sandwich but the chicken was chewy. I do not know what cut of meat they used but a chewy chicken sandwich is never appetizing. I wouldn't recommend and I don't plan on going back. read more

Grabbed lunch at Corner Kitchen the other day--never disappoints. Elote bites ($5) were a new try. I thought they'd be smaller for the price point but the three smaller baseballs were hot, filled with oozing cheese and corn, and covered in a rich sauce. Ohh my goodness the food was all we could talk about the rest of the evening. Upon arrival we were welcomed cheerily by a young woman behind a counter. Ambiance is bright, white and clean. No one was in line, restaurant was pretty busy but still had tables available. We chatted a bit with the woman at the counter and she told us some recommendations. She mentioned we could take a menu have a seat and come back to order - thought this was a nice touch, we didn't feel rushed to order and could get settled before doing so. I've heard great feedback about this place but the experience somehow still ended up exceeding my expectations. Simply delicious. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. The elote bites were the perfect balance of cheese and corn with a doughy shell. Tacos had great flavors and generous portions of meat, double tortilla for the win. Bright and airy decor in this small space is very inviting. Menus are available, but you can also order using a chalkboard menu or look at specials on a tv. Order at the counter, but they bring out your food. I ordered the loaded mac and cheese which I had before. Bookguy ordered birria ramen and Rangoon fries. The fries were unique, with wonton strips, sweet and sour sauce, some kind of white sauce and green onions. Bookguy loved them, and I liked them too. My mac and cheese was as I remembered with pasta , chicken, bacon and a three cheese sauce-- very flavorful and a generous portion. Bookguy found his burria to be a tad bit spicier than he liked, even after taking out the slices of hot pepper. He liked it overall, but didn't finish the broth due to the spice. I had water, but the cup itself smelled funky to me, like maybe it had been washed in water that had grease in it. Next time I'll try a margarita. read more

We were in the area and looking for a new place to eat. We heard good things so we decided to check it out. The restaurant is in a very unassuming strip mall. You walk inside and immediately we were hit with delicious smells. The lunch rush had all of the tables full. Which was ok as we needed time to look over the menu. Even though this is an order at the counter place, one of the staff came over to check on us and make sure we didn't have any menu questions. We went with the Bang Bang Chicken Sando, the Breaky Sando, and shared some Rangoon fries. The flavors jumped out from the first bite. An explosion of deliciousness. Both sandwiches were great. This place is a hidden gem. I drive past this area pretty often and never realized there was a relatively new restaurant in the plaza. The place is spacious with plenty of seating. The employee was very patient as we looked over the menu. We ordered our food to go and it only took about 10 minutes for them to bring our order out. This was our first time at The Corner Kitchen and it's already one of our favorite restaurants. We ordered the birria torta, carne asada burrito, Korean pork tacos, and Rangoon fries. Everything was soooo delicious and full of so much flavor. My favorite thing was the Rangoon fries. I've never had anything like that before. The cooks are truly talented people. After hearing so much about this spot, I'm glad I got to try it out while in town. It is an unassuming little spot placed literally in the corner of a shopping plaza. We ordered and paid at the front and picked out a table to sit at. As everyone says, the elope tots are absolutely to die for. They were perfectly crunchy with great flavor, and they were definitely my favorite part of my meal. I also got the horchata latte, and although very sweet, I could easily drink two. My Chilango burrito was huge - I was only able to eat a few bites and took the rest home to-go. I'm usually pretty skeptical of fusion restaurants, but this place was really fun to try. This is a hole in the wall in a part of Omaha I never really visit, and it's really fun as a result. The place is a melting pot, with all kinds of people walking through the doors. The food is really good. I do have some criticism: 1) The portions on the specialty fries are not generous enough for the price. We had chorizo once and elotes another time, and for the price it's small. 2) I find the burrito a bit dry. I do not understand why the sauce is served on the side instead of incorporated. 3) Input a number system for your guests. I have seen in two trips no less than five orders attempted to deliver to the wrong table. This is such an easy fix, why expect the cashier to remember everything everyone ordered? 3b) Related: it seems pretty consistent that the various items ordered come out staggered. This should be an easy fix imo. Other than these items, delicious ingredients with a creative menu that blends Latin America and Asia. Love it! read more

Corner Kitchen has been on my list of places to try for a long time now! It was pretty quiet on a Saturday night, which I was ok with. Located in the corner of a strip mall so parking was no issue. You place your order at the counter, and since it was slow, I asked the gal for recommendations. She was so sweet and so helpful! Their menu is very interesting, with many different takes on mexican street food with some asian influence. I ended up ordering the side portion of elote tots (what I came here for!!) along with three different tacos to try. They do not serve alcohol, so its mostly canned/bottles drinks, although they did have horchata and a refresher on the daily specials menu. The food came out fast, and they checked on me often to make sure everything was tasting good. The tots were great, they were nice and crisp even under all the toppings. All three tacos were amazing! Al pastor - the meat was tender, the pineapple was finely chopped, and the sauce had a nice kick. Queso-birria - the perfect combo of a quesadilla and birria taco. The meat was melt in your mouth delicious. The sauce was so flavorful. The tortilla perfectly fried. So good! Mole negro pork belly - this was a special so I had to try it. The meat was amazingly tender and the toppings all worked really well. Amazing food. Friendly and fast service. I will be planning a return visit very soon! read more
