This is a great fast-casual restaurant to meet up with friends or family at! The variety of selection has something for everyone. I met with family here last week and we sat outside on their patio. We shared some nachos and each selected our own tacos. I ordered the brisket and birria tacos, which were both good. My only critique would be that they were a little cold despite just being delivered. For dessert, we ordered both the churros and sopapillas. They included honey for dipping. I wish they had more of variety of toppings because who doesn't love deep-fried dough?! Would get the churros again for sure! read more

Ya know, we gave it a valiant effort and I REALLY wanted to like them for so many reasons, but it just didn't trip either trigger and made bellies a lil nauseous. T grabbed their Birria Brisket Taco with some chips and guacamole the chip and guac were delish! But that brisket really, really REALLY left something to be desired. The texture was off, the juice was off (hard to explain!), the flavor was off (yes, I realize it's all subjective) and the amount of cheese was gaggable; literally. The secound I saw T chew his first bite, I knew our time at Rusty was over ... immediately asked for a to-go box (don't ask) and I took one measly bite of my taco... afeared for the rest. If you're sans gallbladder, ya know! The rice was very dry, tasteless, listless. Just sorta... there? Although mine wasn't "birria brisket" it was still a very dry, brisket. And maybe I was expecting something else? but either way, their Brisket Taco also left a whole lot to be desired. Zero juices except for the bebe lime fourth-of-a-wedge. Not the most easily swallowed... bite of food. Unfortunately flavor wise, it lacked BIG TIME for me (really both of us) and maybe because we're spoiled living so close to South O (zero comparing, trust). Very unlikely we'll be back, but the patio and bonus of people watching in a very chaotic parking lot has its perks! read more

If I could give 3.5 stars, that's what I would give it. This place has a good value for the amount of food they give you. I ordered the breakfast brisket bowl, brisket tacos, and queso. The queso was excellent! It tasted mild with a hint of jalapeño. The breakfast bowl was filled to the top with plenty of meat. The tacos were small, but still delicious. The brisket itself was a bit bland and a little dry. The sopapillas were excellent! Definitely recommend trying them. Inside the restaurant, there's lots of seating and space to hang out with friends... very diner style. I ordered my meal for pickup and it took about 20 minutes and they forgot my drink (oh well). Overall, this place is a great place to get a good portion of food for the price. However, I wish their meat had a bit more flavor and tenderness. read more

Rusty Taco - Breakfast brisket bowl - Tex-Mex Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Two times at this location, I've done a takeout for BBQ Brisket nachos near the end of the day. Both times, they have been cold. The first time, they did not even put the brisket on the grill. We saw the brisket was cold in the car and went back in. My brother (who speaks Spanish) heard the employees say in Spanish that they did not want to have to clean the grill and, since it was late, were hoping we wouldn't notice they were cold until we got home. They about jumped out of their skin when my brother thanked them for the freshly cooked nachos in Spanish. This time, I got the same nachos again and forgot to check in the parking lot. Again, cold brisket, unmelted cheese on top. Really gross to eat. I will not be going back again. read more

This was my first time coming here and I was impressed. First of all I loved the fun vibes it felt like a little escape from the cold. I tried the brisket and roasted pork tacos, the brisket was delicious, but the roasted pork wasn't really my thing. My family loved their food and queso was top tier. I didn't get a margarita this time, but they're on my list for next time. The prices were also pretty reasonable! read more

My husband and I love R Taco and have it quite a bit, especially when they have the Buffalo Chicken Nachos as they're his favorite. We ordered a kids chicken quesadilla for our daughter, buffalo nachos for my husband and a dynamite shrimp bowl for myself. Although we waited for our food, it was cold when we received it. The "chicken" quesadilla was a very sad cheese quesadilla with a bowl of grey chicken on the side. My husbands nachos lacked a couple toppings, were cold and the chicken was bland and questionable. My bowl was okay, it was absolutely drenched in sriracha and was also cold. I can't recommend this location at all, very disappointed. read more

Highlights: A wide selection of street tacos. A wide selection of beverages. Nutritional information available online. Ample outdoor seating. Lowlights: The metal trays get stickier with every visit. Today I lightly scrubbed mine with a napkin to see what came off: I got black waxy particles and a bit of the paint. I infer that they don't get thoroughly washed very often, and they probably wouldn't survive if they were to get a good cleaning. They put a clean paper lining down on the trays, so it's merely gross but not a major health hazard. read more

If you're looking for a really good Mexican fast food location try here...they have a lot of variations of a street taco. My go (2) are the Rusty Taco & Black bean taco! Both have a lot of flavors. I prefer the flour tortilla over corn because corn always fall apart on me. You will have to specify flour tortillas if not they are always served as corn tortillas. They also serve a yummy chips & guacamole! You can find their salsas in a cooler by the drinks-help yourself! read more

Food here is always amazing but noticing a lack in customer service. When we arrived 2 hours before closing time staff seemed to be closing up which is fine but when walking to order the person taking our order continued to clean for a couple minutes and did not say a word very awkward when trying to order... As our food was being made the same person then scolded the cook for making a mistake. again, very awkward. 3/5 for experience but will come back for the fire queso. read more

I was looking for something I hadn't tried and at first was frustrated because I thought of this place, but then on Yelp - it had the time wrong for when they closed so I thought I missed it but when I drove by they looked open, called them and they were. I have to agree - the guy working the register didn't look like he was interested in being there or helping me out, but the cook it turns out is a friend of mine who was excited I was there - wish I had been in a better headspace (toothache did not have me in a chatty or friendly space). Anyhow, I tried 3 different tacos and I LOVED each of them. I wish I could remember what I got, I know one or two of them were a steak fajita and maybe a brisket one alone with the basic beef. My one struggle in places like this is that the way that the tacos are served - they cool quickly - I might order next time taco by taco as I am ready to eat a new one - they come out so fast. I am already trying to figure out the next time I am going back. read more

Of you're looking for a quick sit-down bite to eat... tacos it is! Rust Taco had quick and friendly service. Our chip and queso were delivered to the table with counter pickup for the tacos. The chips and queso were quite ordinary. Tacos were very good, however, the grilled shrimp and fish tasted almost the same so I don't recommend spending extra on the shrimp. The star of our lunch was the salsa verde. Friends, I was seriously considering putting the bottle in my purse to bring home! (I didn't) Rusty's is on par with restaurants with this same concept. I recommend going to Rusty's and finding an excuse to try the verde. Happy eating Yelpers! read more

went to enjoy lunch with a couple of friends and all of our sauces were filled less than a quarter. i wish i could make this up. btw all of our sauces looked like this not just the habanero. the tacos were fine but not worth being 3.80 a piece. they not only upped the prices since the last time we've been here (few months ago), but are now giving out barely enough sauce to coat a single taco. mid overpriced food and stingy with the sauces read more

In the face of pandemic concerns, delicious tacos and margaritas to go are a winner. That it's consistently delicious in several visits makes this a go-to now. It's a casual joint with indoor and outdoor seating. The service seemed good for those patrons. We were gathering tasties to go, and they were prompt and friendly. The friendly aspect goes a long way. The staff was cool and I'm certain I'd enjoy eating there when I'm more focused on such. The tacos. Oh my. I'm big on good street tacos. Small, scrumptious and succulently varied, their tacos made several different in-home days a great deal better. We ordered an excess of margaritas, and it turns out they freeze well. Bonus! I'm hungry now. These reviews do it to me. Everyone that has me hungry from reviewing them always gets 4 stars. read more

I've been eating at this Rusty Taco for a few months now and can provide a few tips and tricks: 1. ALWAYS order online. It's so much faster than calling or going in and you can skip the line to pick it up. 2. Request the salsas because it isn't always automatic that they'll put the salsas in the bag. The green salsa and habanero are good, I feel like the red salsa lacks flavor. 3. The specialty tacos are interesting, but from a personal opinion, don't seem to be worth the additional cost. 4. Check the app and signup for email alerts for promotions on chips & queso and other new items. Enjoy some good eats! read more

I stopped into R Taco on a weekday after the lunch rush at about 2pm. Since it was my first time, I asked the staff for some recommendations and told her I wanted to try the top 3 customer favorites on the menu. She was very knowledgeable and helpful, I ended up with the #5,10,11 which were brisket, fried chicken, and bbq pulled pork. Each was $2.75. Tacos are served in a double soft tortilla like street food tacos, and each one had different garnishes on it. One bite of each proved to be a bit bland without salsa, however the 3 salsa options (2 reds and a green) they have in the mini fridge by the drinks were all tasty and helpful in adding spice and flavor. I would say it was a solid meal for a $9 price tag in terms of feeling full. I have heard a lot about their Taco Tuesdays + Happy Hour as well but did not get a chance to try it this time around. I would think the most worthwhile time to visit is for $2 taco Tuesdays and Happy Hour weekdays. I'll admit that if I had been here on a "cheaper" day and had some company to share some chips and guac/ Margs with, it would have probably been more fun. However, strictly for trying their 3 most popular tacos full price and dining alone, solid 3 stars. I still prefer the street style tacos of South Omaha and their options of meat preparation they do with simple onion, lime, and cilantro garnish. read more

Tried this place out today and it was GrEaT! We got a #8: Baja shrimp (crispy or grilled. I went with crispy) in a flour tortilla. Only regret was I only got one. Also got queso & street corn. Do not eat here. Go to the Rusty taco on West Maple-that is a treat. I went here yesterday and regretted it (we had to stop and pick up Cipotle, next door) Ordered a couple of regular fajita tacos, fish and specialty tacos to have all of them come out dreadfully. The fish taco was decent but the rest were actually inedible. The young man who took our order really didnt look like he wanted to be there. NEVER.GOING.BACK. 0 stars read more

I hadn't been in this location for a several years, but always liked their tacos. Stopped for lunch earlier today and thought I'd try the steak fajita bowl. Won't make that mistake again - it was really bland, and even the verde sauce I added wasn't enough to save it. I don't think they seasoned anything in the bowl - the steak, rice, or veggies. Service was okay; not bad but not particularly friendly or good. Won't be back any time soon. read more

I went often to R-taco before this pandemic and always looked forward to it. Hand tacos are decent price and taste pretty good. I decided to try curbside pickup and the process itself was pretty fast. Why 2 stars though? I ordered several tacos and my only request was to have a drizzle of habanero sauce over it or enough in a continer to do it myself. Instead i see 2 containers that barely have any sauce in it. I could put one into the other and it still wouldn't be 25% full. Its really the small things like this that make me not want to order curbside/delivery again. read more

I forgot to take a photo, but the food was horrible. I got fish tacos, which I love but their's were mostly sauce almost no meat whatsoever. The chipotle sauce was orange and super spicy. The cabbage was hard and so was the flour shell. I recently had fish tacos at Noel's in Ogallala. They had the best fish tacos I've ever had. Don't waste your time going to Rusty taco. read more

Service is the worst at this location and food is mediocre compared to the quality and flavor of the maple street location. Wife waited 20 minutes for a take out order just to find out they forgot to make it. They quickly remade it and offered no apology and after getting home, she found out they shorted her on tacos. She lost out on time and money. Highly recommend going across the street to chipotle or make the trek to the maple street location. Who ever runs this one doesn't know anything about customer service. read more

You can't go wrong with R Taco! Great prices and great street style tacos! They have specials on Tuesdays ($2 Taco deals) and they have good and cheap margaritas, beers, and glass bottle cokes. I haven't had any dine-in experiences here. We've only done carry-out. Out of the 3 or 4 times we've carried out, there was only one mistake, they shorted us a few tacos, but they quickly corrected it. They have some good Taco Tuesday and Margarita deals. Because they're street-style tacos I can very easily eat 4 or 5 of them. The place kind of reminds me of Vodo Taco with better service. :) read more

Literally so annoyed that EVERY single time I come here they always either forget a taco or give me the incorrect taco. I'm vegetarian and ordered a potato and egg breakfast taco and I got sausage and egg? I've never had a fully correct order any of the times I come here. RTaco is what it is, quick tacos better than most fast food taco joints but still not as good as the authentic places. I like them and the variety they offer for tacos. 3.8 outta 5. Most of the time I get a decent taco, the fillings aren't always ideal, this last time the tacos were packed. If they keep coming at me like this I'll bmp them up to a 4.2. The flavors are good, they don't knock my socks off, but I'd rather eat here than Taco Bell or taco johns (only had them 1 time 30 years ago). Taco Tuesday was a bit of a disappointment. The Rusty taco is normally 2.50 and you knock it down to 2.22. Come on. .28¢ that's your "taco Tuesday deal" thanks for saving me $1.12 on our order but it's not gonna stick to my memory as a gotta go for tacos place in the future. There's definitely better taco Tuesday deals. A plus is their margaritas, lots of flavors and they are decent. Plus when you advertise that they are made with cheap tequila, how can you get mad. I appreciate honest advertising. They have beer too. The bathrooms are clean but man, y'all gotta work on that TP. That rough stuff is no bueno for the wiping. read more

Great food and service, it has become my go to recently. Pricing is great per taco, allows you to try different combinations. They are street tacos, so 3-4 isn't uncommon so order plenty. I was very surprised to find that one of their vegetarian options is my go to, Rajas. Super flavorful, fresh and just a few bucks. Certainly a place to be adventurous. We ordered the rusty, rajas, surf and turf, beef fajita and fish (fried) tacos with a side of chips and queso and street corn. The flavors in all the tacos was amazing!! Rusty tacos was definitely my favorite with the surf and turf a close second. I was not a big fan of the tortillas which is the reason for the lower score. If the tortillas were better I would def give this place a better score. Street corn was meh but the chips and queso were good. read more

In one afternoon, I'd visited like 6 big box stores, and I was cranky because I was hungry. There's a portmanteau that describes that feeling, but I'm not using that word. I was feeling that word to the extent that I was actually thinking Arby's. My brain was so fatigued that it missed that I, being in a suburban shopping area, had tons of food options. I chose R-Taco, took my tacos to go, under the illusion that I could wait until I got home until I ate them. But. My hanger--I find it as a noun to be acceptable---demanded I eat them in my car, a la basically everyone on My 600-Pound Life who is still mobile. The tacos were 3-star at best, but the service was good, which brings it up to a 4. Really, the pork taco was better than any I've had at a chain; this was the first chain pork that didn't have the texture of canned cat food. Since there are mysteriously no South O taco shops in West O, R Taco was just fine. read more
