This is a great fast-casual restaurant to meet up with friends or family at! The variety of selection has something for everyone. I met with family here last week and we sat outside on their patio. We shared some nachos and each selected our own tacos. I ordered the brisket and birria tacos, which were both good. My only critique would be that they were a little cold despite just being delivered. For dessert, we ordered both the churros and sopapillas. They included honey for dipping. Ya know, we gave it a valiant effort and I REALLY wanted to like them for so many reasons, but it just didn't trip either trigger and made bellies a lil nauseous. T grabbed their Birria Brisket Taco with some chips and guacamole the chip and guac were delish! But that brisket really, really REALLY left something to be desired. The texture was off, the juice was off (hard to explain!), the flavor was off (yes, I realize it's all subjective) and the amount of cheese was gaggable; literally. If I could give 3.5 stars, that's what I would give it. This place has a good value for the amount of food they give you. I ordered the breakfast brisket bowl, brisket tacos, and queso. The queso was excellent! It tasted mild with a hint of jalapeño. The breakfast bowl was filled to the top with plenty of meat. The tacos were small, but still delicious. The brisket itself was a bit bland and a little dry. The sopapillas were excellent! Definitely recommend trying them. Inside the restaurant, there's lots of seating and space to hang out with friends... very diner style. I ordered my meal for pickup and it took about 20 minutes and they forgot my drink (oh well). Two times at this location, I've done a takeout for BBQ Brisket nachos near the end of the day. Both times, they have been cold. The first time, they did not even put the brisket on the grill. My brother (who speaks Spanish) heard the employees say in Spanish that they did not want to have to clean the grill and, since it was late, were hoping we wouldn't notice they were cold until we got home. They about jumped out of their skin when my brother thanked them for the freshly cooked nachos in Spanish. This time, I got the same nachos again and forgot to check in the parking lot. My husband and I love R Taco and have it quite a bit, especially when they have the Buffalo Chicken Nachos as they're his favorite. We ordered a kids chicken quesadilla for our daughter, buffalo nachos for my husband and a dynamite shrimp bowl for myself. Although we waited for our food, it was cold when we received it. The "chicken" quesadilla was a very sad cheese quesadilla with a bowl of grey chicken on the side. My husbands nachos lacked a couple toppings, were cold and the chicken was bland and questionable. I was looking for something I hadn't tried and at first was frustrated because I thought of this place, but then on Yelp - it had the time wrong for when they closed so I thought I missed it but when I drove by they looked open, called them and they were. I have to agree - the guy working the register didn't look like he was interested in being there or helping me out, but the cook it turns out is a friend of mine who was excited I was there - wish I had been in a better headspace (toothache did not have me in a chatty or friendly space). Anyhow, I tried 3 different tacos and I LOVED each of them. I wish I could remember what I got, I know one or two of them were a steak fajita and maybe a brisket one alone with the basic beef. The chips and queso were quite ordinary. Tacos were very good, however, the grilled shrimp and fish tasted almost the same so I don't recommend spending extra on the shrimp. The star of our lunch was the salsa verde. Friends, I was seriously considering putting the bottle in my purse to bring home! (I didn't) Rusty's is on par with restaurants with this same concept. It's so much faster than calling or going in and you can skip the line to pick it up. 2. Request the salsas because it isn't always automatic that they'll put the salsas in the bag. The green salsa and habanero are good, I feel like the red salsa lacks flavor. 3. The specialty tacos are interesting, but from a personal opinion, don't seem to be worth the additional cost. 4. I stopped into R Taco on a weekday after the lunch rush at about 2pm. Since it was my first time, I asked the staff for some recommendations and told her I wanted to try the top 3 customer favorites on the menu. She was very knowledgeable and helpful, I ended up with the #5,10,11 which were brisket, fried chicken, and bbq pulled pork. Each was $2.75. Tacos are served in a double soft tortilla like street food tacos, and each one had different garnishes on it. One bite of each proved to be a bit bland without salsa, however the 3 salsa options (2 reds and a green) they have in the mini fridge by the drinks were all tasty and helpful in adding spice and flavor. I would say it was a solid meal for a $9 price tag in terms of feeling full. I have heard a lot about their Taco Tuesdays + Happy Hour as well but did not get a chance to try it this time around. I would think the most worthwhile time to visit is for $2 taco Tuesdays and Happy Hour weekdays. I'll admit that if I had been here on a "cheaper" day and had some company to share some chips and guac/ Margs with, it would have probably been more fun. However, strictly for trying their 3 most popular tacos full price and dining alone, solid 3 stars. Wife waited 20 minutes for a take out order just to find out they forgot to make it. They quickly remade it and offered no apology and after getting home, she found out they shorted her on tacos. I decided to try curbside pickup and the process itself was pretty fast. Why 2 stars though? I ordered several tacos and my only request was to have a drizzle of habanero sauce over it or enough in a continer to do it myself. Instead i see 2 containers that barely have any sauce in it. RTaco is what it is, quick tacos better than most fast food taco joints but still not as good as the authentic places. I like them and the variety they offer for tacos. 3.8 outta 5. Most of the time I get a decent taco, the fillings aren't always ideal, this last time the tacos were packed. If they keep coming at me like this I'll bmp them up to a 4.2. The flavors are good, they don't knock my socks off, but I'd rather eat here than Taco Bell or taco johns (only had them 1 time 30 years ago). Taco Tuesday was a bit of a disappointment. Great food and service, it has become my go to recently. Pricing is great per taco, allows you to try different combinations. They are street tacos, so 3-4 isn't uncommon so order plenty. I was very surprised to find that one of their vegetarian options is my go to, Rajas. Super flavorful, fresh and just a few bucks. Certainly a place to be adventurous. We ordered the rusty, rajas, surf and turf, beef fajita and fish (fried) tacos with a side of chips and queso and street corn. The flavors in all the tacos was amazing!! Rusty tacos was definitely my favorite with the surf and turf a close second. I was not a big fan of the tortillas which is the reason for the lower score. My hanger--I find it as a noun to be acceptable---demanded I eat them in my car, a la basically everyone on My 600-Pound Life who is still mobile. The tacos were 3-star at best, but the service was good, which brings it up to a 4. Really, the pork taco was better than any I've had at a chain; this was the first chain pork that didn't have the texture of canned cat food.
