    Mediterranean Sashimi: 10/10
    Jemiah J.

Reservations are highly recommended. I came here with a girlfriend on a Monday. Their website encourages making a reservation, and I'm so glad I did. They were busy on a Monday evening, and they're only open from 5-9 PM daily. The food was fantastic, and so was the setting. It has a cozy yet sophisticated vibe. Think of going to your friend's home who has great taste in décor, with a twist of flair. The warm amber lighting really sets a comfortable tone. For dinner, we ordered the following: Sashimi Mediterráneo: Melt in your mouth delicious. Chicken Paillard: Perfectly lemony and beautifully roasted. The salad was fresh and paired really well with the chicken. I loved the blistered capers. They went great with both the sashimi and the chicken. Dessert: Basque Cake: A soft, multi textured, biscuity French Spanish cake with vanilla pastry cream and sweet cherries. The pastry cream is baked in perfectly. It has an almost creamy cheesecake like texture, and paired with the vanilla ice cream, it was amazing. My girlfriend and I just wished there was a little more ice cream. It would have balanced the dessert even better. I'm definitely coming here again and again! I want to try their Patatas Bravas, Paella & Kabocha Soup, but I also want to get what I've ordered. What a predicament.

Wow everything we tried was so good! My friend and I shared the sashimi, chicken, and basque cake. The fish was fresh and flavorful. The onions and capers with the sashimi were delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and paired well with the lemony sauce and salad. I definitely want to go back to try more dishes. Service was on point and the restaurant is cute and clean.

I've been here a few times and each time I've enjoyed it. We got the croquetas, patatas bravas, chipirones, steak tartare, steak frites, and creme brulee. Everything was delicious, but the portions are very small for the price point. I understand they are tapas and meant to be small plates, but for the price, I feel like the portions could be bigger. I like the cozy and romantic ambiance of the restaurant. Our server was attentive and friendly as well. Street parking is pretty easy to find and there is only 1 bathroom i believe.

Beautiful aesthetic on the inside, very cozy and dimly lit. This is a great date spot! Everything we ate tasted fresh and flavorful, the sea bass and grilled squid were absolutely delicious and unique. Such a fun spot I would definitely recommend! The sangria is also fantastic!

Get the artichoke!! It was our favorite thing we ordered. Very fun idea and absolutely delicious. Our server David was very nice and attentive. We ordered a couple drinks each (the Old Fashioned and the gin and tonic). Even though they have other gin and whiskey, they will not substitute any other type in the drinks. I'm not sure if that means they are pre-made and I could have ordered a Bullet and soda if I wanted (it wasn't Bullet in the drink), but I haven't been somewhere that they have other alcohol options but won't sub. The drinks were good (I liked the gin and tonic better) and maybe whoever came up with the drinks feels passionately about not swapping alcohol in them. I get that. Just passing along information in this review. We ordered the bread to start and the butter tastes like it's made in-house. Big fan. The clams were good but fairly sherry-forward. If you like sherry, I recommend! If not, maybe get something else. The croquettes were also good and I would eat them again but I'd probably branch out and try something else first. The arroz del senyoret was our second favorite. It was crispy rice and the seafood was delicious. Loved the presentation. The restaurant itself is super cute and the only reason I gave it four stars is because there is only one bathroom and because people tend to be a little yucky when it comes to leaving the bathroom after using it, I think it should be checked a little more often. I mentioned something and it was taken care of immediately but just wasn't my favorite thing while enjoying a great meal.

My second time here- equally as amazing as the first. Celebrated a friends birthday; and they took a cute Polaroid when we were seated! We shared all of our dishes and it was the best way to try everything! We got: Tuna Carpaccio Steak Tartare Octopus Artichokes Steak Frites (forgot to snap a photo) Crema Catalana for dessert. Will be back again

Delicious meal! And they were able to accommodate our large party size (9ppl), which was their only large table in the restaurant. Otherwise, would recommend smaller group (4ppl) in this more intimate setting. Appetizers were all very tasty, even their bread! Which we ordered to pair with the clams, and the garlic shrimp. I was most impressed by the patatas bravas. Of the main courses, the sea bass was amazing!

LOVE. I've been here a few times now and it's on my favorites list these days. Some of my favorite dishes so far: pan con tomate y jamón iberico, arroz del senyoret (like a seafood paella with a lot of socarrat), chuleton, alcachofas, buñelos Very cute interior and great service as well.

Came here for dinner and it did not disappoint. In the evenings it has a dark, moody vibe which creates a lovely atmosphere ( though you will have to dig out the iPhone light to see anything on the menu. Enjoyed a couple of their appetizers- namely tbe poke and the smashed artichoke and enjoyed the octopus for the main course which was very good. Service was fantastic throughout the evening and it was a great choice!

4.5/5. What a lovely romantic neighborhood restaurant! My friend suggested catching up over dinner here, one of her favorites. Our server was warm and friendly, and she took good care of our table. I also loved their unique candle holders that were basically giant mounds of drippy, melted wax. For drinks, I enjoyed my sangria, which had the perfect balance of sweet fruitiness and wine, but I wished the gin and tonic had the option of adding other flavor elements. Highlights of the meal were the delightfully crispy patatas bravas, warm basque cake, and alcachofa (smashed seared artichokes). We also savored the tuna tartar, pan tomaquet con iberico (although the bread could have been more toasted), pulpo con alubias (octopus and white beans), mussels, arroz del senyoret (paella-like rice). I'd definitely recommend this spot for date nights and special occasions!

So many compliments to give. Interior: Intimate. You feel cozy, not claustrophobic. So many fun things to look around while waiting for your next course to arrive. Service: Luis, an amazing server. He gave my husband and I his own personal favs. Which was valid. Get the Wienerschnitzel, you won't be disappointed. The service was exceptional and didn't feel rushed. Overall, Luis makes me want to come back to hear more of his other personal favs. I will be coming back. Food: Every appetizer, entree, desserts and drinks were divine. My personal fav was the patatas pavera because of the unique flavors. I had 5 different items and not a bad bite in the bunch

    "Gentlemen's Rice" like a Paella

This place is amazing. We went with another couple to celebrate my birthday and the staff did everything to make it special from a little personalized picture they took! We ordered the Gentlemen's Rice which is like a paella but better. We also ordered the smashed artichoke for an appetizer delicious and the Spanish olives. We are definitely coming back highly recommend this place.

Valentina has quality, flavorful and unique Spanish cuisine. The parking was difficult, so we parked in the dirt road across. We were seated on the bar since we didn't have a reservation for dinner. Shoutout to David! David was cool, attentive, and friendly. He took time to explain the menu. We ordered , -Arroz Del Synoret 5/5 It is Valentina's version of paella. The rice was crispy and there was a great amount of seafood in the dish. It is highly recommended. -Steak Tiradito 5/5 It is Chimchuri, pickled Fresno. It was flavorful and well marinated. The steak was juicy and tender. -Side salad was very fresh -Crudo Del Dia 5/5 Bluefin was the fish of the day. It was really perfect. For dessert -Creme Catalina 5/5 Spanish Custard topped with caramelized sugar. It had creamy and rich texture. The service was top notch. We had an excellent experience and outstanding dinner. The restaurant had very cozy vibes. I cannot wait to go back and try more dishes. I highly recommend Valentina.

The table, the servers, the food, the valet guys... literally everything about our experience from the moment we stepped out of the car was perfect. It was super fancy with zero pretentiousness. Valet only and if dining at the restaurant $10. It wasn't busy at all inside but all the outdoor seating was occupied. We were able to sit by the windows which still had a nice view of the coast. No lunch menu just brunch. One of my friends who is a regular here let us know that aside from the hamburgers, the rest is "European Style" which equates to smaller portions. I experienced that the first time I had gone. We ordered Batiquitos Bowls and a Traditional Benedict. The food came out in a timely manner and was good. Both times I've gone, the experience was alright but lacking. Being a local, it's hard to justify dining at this place just for the views. For me, it wasn't worth paying higher prices for average food and paying for parking.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and the restaurant paid attention to that. They had a very nice Happy Anniversary card on the table and even provided complimentary glasses of champagne. I was impressed. I am a stickler for attention to detail, and the fact that they paid attention to the notes on my Open Table reservation meant a lot to me. Our waiter was Zabi. He had a really fun personality and a great deal of patience as we asked several questions, asked his recommendations for menu items, wines, etc. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and a very personable person to converse with. We will request him the next time we come in! The best thing we ordered was the beef carpaccio. We enjoyed the pintxo sampler platter and every item was very thought out. The flavors were so unique but also approachable. The octopus was delicious and hearty - not the typical citrus preparation I was used to. And the Basque cheesecake is truly worth a trip alone. It is soft in the middle like a custard - we really enjoyed the texture. We were very impressed and are already talking about bringing friends with us next time!

Our server was perfect, explaining a few things on the menu, encouraging us to order our main course as they take about 45 min to create. So, ordered the Paella de Pollo to share. Then, we perused the drink menu! What a selection! We were feeling the need for some bourbon, tried the peach Ol' Fashioned. Concerned that such fruity concoctions can occasionally overwhelm the spirit, we were presented with a good looking, clear cubed lowball with a skewered marinated cherry along with a tiny cube of peach. It tasted delicious. CTZN has a mixologist Extradinaire at the helm! By this time, our 1st tapa was presented, Croquetas de Torrezno. Delicate & flavorful, smoked pork belly atop black garlic aioli, apricot jam & Ice wine vinegar. Delicious! Then we were presented with our Potatas Brava, 4 servings of delicately sliced potato dauphine with Bravas sauce & garlic aioli. So many flavors to these perfectly cooked slices. I'd wanted to try another drink & read the Paper Airplane was there. A delicate fruity/frothy mixture that my wife would've loved, but a bit sweet for me. A roasted small half chicken, cooked well with wild mushrooms, chorizo de Bilbao, garlic aioli & grilled lemon. Absolutely delicious with protein to spare. We topped it all off with their own wonderful cheesecake & fruit sauces shared. All of this while enjoying the perfect outdoor weather at the beach with an ongoing promenade of folks enjoying the afternoon sunset. A wonderfully creative bar, outstanding service and so many flavors on the menu, we need to come back to try more! I highly recommend CTZN when in North San Diego in stylish Solano Beach!

The only dish that didn't quite blow us away was the chocolate sourdough dessert, but we were curious and glad we gave it a try. What really completes the experience is the excellent service. Chris, the bartender, took wonderful care of us and recommended the perfect wine pairings for our meal. We keep coming back for a reason. We absolutely love this neighborhood gem!

Unfortunately, we had to sit outside in the heat and had flies surrounding us. But that didn't bother us -- we just kept ordering sangria, since it was happy hour. We split the following: + Tuna, uni & paleta ibérica toast⁣ + Patatas bravas⁣ + tuna carpaccio⁣ + Ajillo squid⁣ + chorizo croquetas⁣ My personal favorites were the tuna, uni & paleta ibérica toast, the patatas bravas and red sangria. Everything else could have had just a little more salt in it.

Plates like the pisto, tataki, and lamb summarize the restaurant's ability to create once-in-a-lifetime bites in an artistic fashion. The interior ambiance and service staff only help to elevate the occasion.

I'll start with the service. 10/10 Everyone who we…read moreencountered was very nice and treated us like we were the most important people in the restaurant. Which, I am sure they do for everyone. Which is why the consistency and dedication to their service is so commendable. Top tier from the host, our waiter and some sweet lady wearing nice clothes who spoke with us and provided us with refills. Focaccia Bread - 8.6 Good, hot and fresh. It could have used more herbs and texture on the outside. The bread was good quality and tasted as such. The star though is the balsamic vinegar that it comes with. The balsamic is delicious and tasted like it was high quality. Seared Beef Filet Tataki - 9.2 I haven't had many chilled beef dishes however, this is the best one. The beef was very tender and flavorful. It was cooked to a medium/medium rare. The soy jus the beef was sitting in was really flavorful and delicious. The seasonal citrus was also fresh and very delicious. I would encourage anyone to try this dish at Wolf, especially if you want to try something chilled that typically is served hot. Sweet Corn Soup - 9.9 Yes, a 9.9. I'm not sure soup can get much better. Every aspect and component of this dish is excellent. The depth of the flavor of the corn, the texture and items which accompany the soup are all great. The corn fritters are moist, flavorful and soak up some of the soup. The chile dust adds great seasoning and flavor while the pine nuts add texture. If I were to rank the best 25 bites of good or dishes I ever had, this would probably be top 10-15. Even if you aren't a fan of corn, get this, it'll change your mind. Kolibri Salad - 8.9 The salad contained blue cheese, dried apricots, shaved multicolored carrots, bread crumbs and a mustard vinaigrette. All of the aspects of the salad were very good and played off one another very well. I always say the best salad contain a creamy cheese, fresh fruit (not blueberries or strawberries), nuts and a good vinaigrette. The blue cheese was really creamy and probably the best blue cheese we have had. The mustard vinaigrette was good and paired well with all of the ingredients. Patatas Bravas - 8.2 The potatoes were good but not great. The potatoes were tender but too big imo. If they were cut into smaller pieces they would have better texture post cook. The aioli served with the potatoes was really, really good. I wish I had a jar of it. Skillet Mini Burger - 8.8 You could tell the beef was very high quality and it was cooked to a perfect medium. The beef was very flavorful and juicy. The hatch chile crema was delicious as well. If I had one bad thing to say about this burger it would be that it was hatch chile overload. If the burger just contained the hatch chile crema it would have been perfect. However, they also put cooked down hatch chiles on the burger. It was a bit too much chile and I wanted the beef and white cheddar to shine a little bit more.

This time we wanted to try this new to us place, we were so happy to take rideshare to this location as parking is very limited with severely road work happening all around. This restaurant gives a beachy hole in the wall relaxing vibe which we love!! Menu was simple quite a few options, we went for their fish tacos and fish n chips. Between the 4 of us we shared the items to see if they are good before ordering more, the short version of the story is that the food was very good, not dry or fishy smell, taste fresh, succulent piece if fish fillers on the taco, the fish n chips batter was a bit on the thick side but still very tasty. Clam chowder was on point, creamy and not a cream breaking point. We would love going back again once all the road work are done. Service is quick and prompt, no frills. It is a hole in a wall place so expect a bit of self service like getting water or napkins. Overall a solid 5 stars a must try if you like fish tacos and fish n chips.

But the batter was a bit too thick and salty for my taste. The side of tartar sauce was bland and needed a kick of sriracha and lemon. The Mahi three taco plate was very good and a fair value with decent sized pieces of fish and a tasty crema on the finely shredded cabbage and tomatoes. But the tortillas were too dry, which is inexplicable given the myriad great tortillerias in the region. Service was fast and efficient, and the ambience bustling with people jam-packed together scarfing their food. I really appreciate their ongoing excellent health inspection reports.
