We went here for a celebration dinner recently and had a nice experience. It's right on the beach, so self parking is available but limited. They do have valet for $10 which was worth it to us to not have to look for parking. Our table wasn't quite ready so they told us we could sit at the bar, as they were waiting for people to leave. The bar was full so we had to wait for someone to leave, thankfully it wasn't long. Unfortunately there is no seating or anywhereto really go (except to stand outside) if your table isn't ready and the bar is full. I ordered an espresso martini, which i will say was one of the better ones I've had. It was so good i got 2. When our table was ready, we were seated outside facing the water, and it was beautiful, and so peaceful. This is what made the restaurant experience for me. I'd go back just for the view. We ordered the sushi to start, and since i love coconut shrimp, I went for the sunshine roll. It was very good and not too sweet, even though it had mango, macadamia and sweet chilli. This was my favorite part of the meal, although the price was steep at $27 for the one roll! We also ordered a half order of the sourdough bread, but the gave us a whole one since they were busy and we had to wait a bit. The bread was very good and chewy, but the outside edges were a bit tougher. I had leftovers and it toasted very well the next day. Fur my entree I decided on the plum ginger braised shortrib. It was very tender and had a nice mild flavor. Not the best I've had but still good. It came with shredded Brussels which were fine. The potatoes kind of the me for a loop and the were supposed to be augratin with jalapeno and cheddar, but i didn't taste any of that. I probably wouldn't order this again. I was pretty full from my other items, so ended up wrapping it up to go. I will definitely go back for the sushi and the view, and next time I'd probably try the lobster tacos or chowder. read more

Enjoyed the second floor enclosed patio last night with my husband and my in-laws. Beautiful view of the ocean on a sunny perfect beach day. The valet staff were quick and polite, opening our doors for us as we pulled up. It's $10 for valet plus tips. They actually park a lot of the cars off site because their lot is small, so prepare to wait 10-15 minutes upon leaving before you get your car back. We had a reservation for 5:45 and they seated us right away. Nicole our server was friendly and attentive, filling our waters and checking on us at least 5 times during our dinner. I ordered an espresso martini, a mixed green salad, and the Longboard roll. My husband ordered a Bulleit old fashioned, and the Cowboy steak with asparagus and roasted potatoes. We had a fantastic service and though I don't really care for margaritas, I had to get the charred pineapple and Serrano margarita as it is fantastic!! We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and we're so glad we found this gem. Starting with ambiance, we sat outside so we had a nice view of the ocean. Service was great. Misael was our server and he was awesome along with the manager who offered us another seat after dinner to enjoy ourselves since the wind started to kick in. But the star of the show was probably my seafood Cobb salad. It was made perfectly and tossed so well. Other items we ordered were: calamari, 1/2 dz oysters, seafood pasta, and for our beverages, we got the maple old fashioned and basil strawberry lemonade (non alcoholic). Stopped in here on the way down the coast for a quick appetizer before a dinner reservation and it ended up being a great little stop. We grabbed seats at the bar, had a glass of wine, and enjoyed the view. The crab cakes were delicious and came topped with a scallop. I'm personally not a big scallop fan, but my partner said it was amazing. The salad was also very tasty, and the oysters tasted fresh. Our server was very helpful and attentive, which made the experience even better. Service was a little on the slow side initially. We actually had to find the manager to ask who was waiting the area where we were seated. Not a good look. Came for dinner last night. We tried the hot rock sashimi and calamari for appetizers. The calamari was amazing! Generous portion, lemon wedges and the breading was perfect. The hot rock was a novelty but pretty disappointing as I just had a tataki at another seafood place that was amazing so a pass for all of us. Carlos was our server and was fast efficient and helpful. For entrees we got the miso glazed Chilean sea bass, bbq salmon with pineapple salsa, ribs and the porcini scallops and everyone gave their entrees a 10/10 and clean plates. We finished with the butterscotch apple pie with Tahitian vanilla gelato and the crust was so good and someone took the time to craft a beautiful delicious dessert. The ambiance here is a rarity. I enjoyed the salad, but the chicken breast didn't have much flavor and was dry. The only thing that was just ok, despite the creative efforts was only having a passion fruit mignonette and not just a regular one. Passion fruit and oysters just doesn't work for me. So the lemon and Tabasco did instead. But great fresh oysters! Large! Roll sizes with 10 pieces each. Loved the Cardiff roll but those jalapeños were not spicy at all.. sad. Otherwise this was a yummy roll. And the sunshine roll with the coconut shrimp and macadamia nuts was consumed by my husband who gave it 5 stars. Only thing we were not excited about was the smoked chicken taquitos which had dry chicken and didn't have any smoke to it. But it was still good and crisp and decent. Valet parking for $10 plus tip. Don't be tempted to park in the beach lot next door because that gets gated off after sunset and would be a sad ending for the night if your car was trapped!. They offer wild-caught fish options (all their fish is wild-caught except for the salmon which is farmed). Driving into the entrance you'll be greeted by the Valet team who will tend to your car. It's really the only option since parking anywhere else is next to impossible. Once inside you'll feel the size of the very large restaurant as a large bar awaits you on your left as you enter with "bar seating" ( no reservations required) and then into seated with reservations. I didn't ask but I'll bet they can seat 150 people. The menu is what you'd expect from a fish house including they do sushi too. We had some as Appetizers and then varied fish entrees. So large house means huge turnover so fish very very fresh. This is not fine dining but good dining and service was good. San Diego knows how to do fish house dining and this was a good outcome. The location is exactly by the beach looking at the ocean, covered behind wall of rock as barrier from possible waves. Really nice ambiance. We were seated in main dining with window view. It was raining so no patio dining. The place is also expanding to the side, larger dining room. Service was fast during lunch and you can even reserve thru Open Table to minimize any wait time. Parking is Valet $8 in front of the restaurant. Or you can find City Parking lot by the beach, metered parking. Lunch menu is more affordable compared to dinner menu price. Probably smaller portion. We ordered 4 items. Ahi poke bowl is a small bowl compared to regular and cheaper Poke shop. The Seabass is nice and fresh. They used Mahi-Mahi fish based a lot, such as Fish and Chip. Not as tasty as typical fish and chip. The seafood pasta is filled with seafood and tasty with smoked tomato sauce. Quite delicious. Restaurant known for their beach views, located right in the beach. We parked with valet parking, there was a lot across the street for the beach but might have been harder to find. Prices were pretty high but makes sense for the restaurant location. We ordered an appetizer of calamari, which was pretty good, very fresh and had lots of crispy breading which is how I like my calamari. We ordered a salmon sushi roll, not sure on the exact name. Sushi was good, portions was actually pretty large and the fish was fresh. Had spicy jalapenos on it as well and overall a good dish. We also ordered the seafood pasta, exact name I also forgot. Lots of seafood, scallops with some small chunks of lobster and shrimp. The pasta and sauce itself was alright. We ordered the seafood paella as well, which had lots of seafood too, more lobster than the pasta and also oysters/mussels (?). Service was slightly slower but very accommodating and polite. They seated us on the second floor right next to a window view! We came on a slightly cloudier day in the evening, so the views weren't as great as they could've been since we wanted to catch the sunset. Still, amazing to eat with the ocean breeze. Overall, very pretty restaurant with a great view. The beach is in walking distance, so we went out after our meal to sit on the sand. I love this place, but hadn't been for quite a while. We met friends there on Friday for a late lunch and it was excellent. We had several appetizers (oysters, calamari, shrimp dumplings and crab guacamole. Although everything was really excellent, the shrimp dumplings were the star of the show for sure. The port wine sauce was just wonderful and the dumplings were succulent. Although I enjoyed the crab guacamole, I think it would be better served in a more shallow bowl for crab to guac distribution. The calamari was crispy and the cornmeal was a lovely touch. The dipping sauce was great too. Although parking is kind of a pain there, the valet service was great and they are incredibly adept and professional at getting the vehicles where they need to be. The view was simply gorgeous. We're coming back North from San Diego and wanted to spot on the water with great Seafood and a Yelp search suggested Pacific Coast grill. Because it had a dedicated parking lot we decided to check it out because parking anywhere along Pacific Coast Highway in the summer is always a gamble. There is a public beach lot but we opted for the valet service which was only $8. Location is fantastic right on the sand overlooking the ocean. The servers were all great and the food was delicious. We did not have any of the fun cocktail or drinks since it was early in the day and we still have to drive back up to Orange County but they had a very full drink menu. My hub loved the seabass and I liked the seared ahi dish, although the ahi was partly chewy and stringy due to the way it was sliced. The sauce, rice and bok choy helped pull this dish through.
