We love this place and probably always will. We've been loyal patrons since they opened in 2012, and there's a reason we keep coming back. The location is beautiful, the service is consistently good, and there's something special about having a great meal right on the beach. But after almost 15 years, I have to say: it's time for an update. The menu has barely changed since they opened, and as longtime customers, it has simply gotten old. We would love to see some fresh, more elevated options, seasonal specials, or even a thoughtful refresh of some of the classics. You can keep what people love while still giving regulars something new to look forward to. The noise level is another consistent issue. It is loud. Not lively, not energetic--just really loud. It can be difficult to have a conversation without everyone at the table raising their voices, which takes away from what could otherwise be such a lovely dining experience. What's frustrating is that this restaurant has so much going for it: an incredible beachfront location, a beautiful view, good service, and years of loyal customers. We just wish the dining experience had evolved along with everything else over the past 14 years. We'll continue to come back because we genuinely love this place. But we would love it even more if they gave the menu and overall experience a much-needed refresh. There are so few opportunities to have a truly upscale dining experience right on the beach. Wonderful time! We came here for a nice dinner on the last night of our California trip and we were not disappointed. First, Sherry was a joy! She was very nice, timed everything just right, and made us laugh along the way. We did valet because it's the easiest for parking and costs $10, not too bad compared to downtown parking anywhere else. We had a reservation and were sat right away. We weren't next to a window, but very close to one so we could see the ocean. They did also have outside seating it looked like, which is probably nice on non-humid days. I ordered 2 different cocktails (the my tai and the blackberry mojito) that were strong and good! We ordered the crab guacamole for an appetizer and loved it. Lots of crab right on top and we mixed it in to our liking, it went super well with the creaminess of the guac. For my main I got the coconut crab crusted mahi mahi. Let me tell you, that vanilla jasmine rice and the apple cider soy butter were on point! My meal was delicious! We got the tahitian coconut cheesecake to go and it was delightful. It had a passion fruit sauce and what I think was maybe a coconut milk sauce, the tangy and creamy were perfect together. This was a great meal with a beautiful view. We decided to stop of during vacation for an early dinner after a whale watching boat tour in San Diego Bay. We got to the restaurant 30 minutes early, and they weren't seating for dinner yet. So we sat on the bar for a drink while we waited. The bartenders were attentive and the drinks were delicious! (Not pictured) We go a Pina-Rita and a pale ale. We got seated for dinner shortly afterwards outside by the beach and waves. The view was spectacular and they have umbrellas strategically placed to offer shade. We had to move ours a bit but it was super easy. We refreshed our drinks at this time but traded the 'Rita' with a 'My Tai', which was also amazing (pictured). I am NOT a seafood fan, but my husband loves it. We ordered the empanadas for an appetizer, I had the burger with havarti and bacon and my husband had the seafood pasta. My family and I had a very nice lunch at Pacific Coast Grill. The restaurant is located right at the beach and this makes for a beautiful view. For a table of 6, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. To start, we split their calamari which was perfectly cooked and not too chewy. For my entree, I got their Baja Fish Tacos which were very flavorful and the fish was perfectly cooked as well. My husband got their Ahi Sliders which he really enjoyed but wished he had more than 2 sliders. For dessert, we all split their bread pudding and dark chocolate custard. We went here for a celebration dinner recently and had a nice experience. It's right on the beach, so self parking is available but limited. They do have valet for $10 which was worth it to us to not have to look for parking. Our table wasn't quite ready so they told us we could sit at the bar, as they were waiting for people to leave. The bar was full so we had to wait for someone to leave, thankfully it wasn't long. Unfortunately there is no seating or anywhereto really go (except to stand outside) if your table isn't ready and the bar is full. I ordered an espresso martini, which i will say was one of the better ones I've had. It was so good i got 2. When our table was ready, we were seated outside facing the water, and it was beautiful, and so peaceful. This is what made the restaurant experience for me. I'd go back just for the view. We ordered the sushi to start, and since i love coconut shrimp, I went for the sunshine roll. It was very good and not too sweet, even though it had mango, macadamia and sweet chilli. This was my favorite part of the meal, although the price was steep at $27 for the one roll! We also ordered a half order of the sourdough bread, but the gave us a whole one since they were busy and we had to wait a bit. The bread was very good and chewy, but the outside edges were a bit tougher. I had leftovers and it toasted very well the next day. Fur my entree I decided on the plum ginger braised shortrib. It was very tender and had a nice mild flavor. Not the best I've had but still good. It came with shredded Brussels which were fine. The potatoes kind of the me for a loop and the were supposed to be augratin with jalapeno and cheddar, but i didn't taste any of that. I probably wouldn't order this again. I was pretty full from my other items, so ended up wrapping it up to go. I will definitely go back for the sushi and the view, and next time I'd probably try the lobster tacos or chowder. read more

Enjoyed the second floor enclosed patio last night with my husband and my in-laws. Beautiful view of the ocean on a sunny perfect beach day. The valet staff were quick and polite, opening our doors for us as we pulled up. It's $10 for valet plus tips. They actually park a lot of the cars off site because their lot is small, so prepare to wait 10-15 minutes upon leaving before you get your car back. We had a reservation for 5:45 and they seated us right away. Nicole our server was friendly and attentive, filling our waters and checking on us at least 5 times during our dinner. I ordered an espresso martini, a mixed green salad, and the Longboard roll. My husband ordered a Bulleit old fashioned, and the Cowboy steak with asparagus and roasted potatoes. Waiters are always nice and happy. We ordered the miso glazed sea bass and it was delicious. All the flavors together was perfect. I love the noodles that it comes with and the baby bok choy. It all complements each other perfectly. We also had the ahi poke tower with wonton chips and that also tasted great. The hot rock was a novelty but pretty disappointing as I just had a tataki at another seafood place that was amazing so a pass for all of us. Carlos was our server and was fast efficient and helpful. For entrees we got the miso glazed Chilean sea bass, bbq salmon with pineapple salsa, ribs and the porcini scallops and everyone gave their entrees a 10/10 and clean plates. We finished with the butterscotch apple pie with Tahitian vanilla gelato and the crust was so good and someone took the time to craft a beautiful delicious dessert. The ambiance here is a rarity.
