We went here for our anniversary 2 years in a row. This restaurant is great. The service is always so nice, they even accommodated for us to sit upstairs by the glass, so our view was beautiful. Waiters are always nice and happy. We ordered the miso glazed sea bass and it was delicious. All the flavors together was perfect. I love the noodles that it comes with and the baby bok choy. It all complements each other perfectly. We also had the ahi poke tower with wonton chips and that also tasted great. For drinks we tried the oaxacan old fashioned and that was delish also, perfectly made! Our waiter even gave us complimentary bread pudding dessert that came with ice cream and berries. That was so nice of him to do that for our anniversary celebration! And it was very delicious! We really love the restaurant from the ambiance, to the service and the food.
This is a great spot for groups. Reasonable prices for ocean view dining. Their menu has a nice variety of food and drink options. You can ask for their vegetarian or gluten free dedicated menus. The veggie burger with a black bean patty and veggie bacon was fantastic. Ask them to add their chipotle aioli as a condiment. It was a large portion with a side of fries or salad. The rosemary bread with butter is a nice starter for the table. Others at the table enjoyed their food, fried chicken sliders, fish and chips, beet salad, quesadilla, and lobster and shrimp chowder. Service is great. For a Sunday it wasn't busy at all and we got a window side table in the top floor without a wait. Valet parking $8.
My family and I had a very nice lunch at Pacific Coast Grill. The restaurant is located right at the beach and this makes for a beautiful view. For a table of 6, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. To start, we split their calamari which was perfectly cooked and not too chewy. For my entree, I got their Baja Fish Tacos which were very flavorful and the fish was perfectly cooked as well. My husband got their Ahi Sliders which he really enjoyed but wished he had more than 2 sliders. For dessert, we all split their bread pudding and dark chocolate custard. Both were decadent and a treat! I really enjoyed the Kona coffee gelato that was served alongside the chocolate custard. Parking is $10 valet or street parking, and the valet staff was very quick. We'd love to return when back in town!
Super bummed. Went for Father's Day. Food was mediocre and for the price definitely not what I was expecting. Wrong food was delivered and pasta came out cold. Had the seafood pasta and all the seafood within was overcooked. Would avoid the place and save yourself a couple dollars to eat great seafood down the street that's actually edible. Besides the food the service was great from the waiter and valet driver since you are forced to valet due to the micro parking lot.
The view really makes this place, you honestly can't beat it. Parking was easy enough. They offer valet for $10, and there's also some street parking nearby since it's right on the beach. The food was good too. I had the lobster tacos, which were obviously a great choice, and the interior was beautiful as well.
We went here for a celebration dinner recently and had a nice experience. It's right on the beach, so self parking is available but limited. They do have valet for $10 which was worth it to us to not have to look for parking. Our table wasn't quite ready so they told us we could sit at the bar, as they were waiting for people to leave. The bar was full so we had to wait for someone to leave, thankfully it wasn't long. Unfortunately there is no seating or anywhereto really go (except to stand outside) if your table isn't ready and the bar is full. I ordered an espresso martini, which i will say was one of the better ones I've had. It was so good i got 2. When our table was ready, we were seated outside facing the water, and it was beautiful, and so peaceful. This is what made the restaurant experience for me. I'd go back just for the view. We ordered the sushi to start, and since i love coconut shrimp, I went for the sunshine roll. It was very good and not too sweet, even though it had mango, macadamia and sweet chilli. This was my favorite part of the meal, although the price was steep at $27 for the one roll! We also ordered a half order of the sourdough bread, but the gave us a whole one since they were busy and we had to wait a bit. The bread was very good and chewy, but the outside edges were a bit tougher. I had leftovers and it toasted very well the next day. Fur my entree I decided on the plum ginger braised shortrib. It was very tender and had a nice mild flavor. Not the best I've had but still good. It came with shredded Brussels which were fine. The potatoes kind of the me for a loop and the were supposed to be augratin with jalapeno and cheddar, but i didn't taste any of that. I probably wouldn't order this again. I was pretty full from my other items, so ended up wrapping it up to go. I will definitely go back for the sushi and the view, and next time I'd probably try the lobster tacos or chowder.
Enjoyed the second floor enclosed patio last night with my husband and my in-laws. Beautiful view of the ocean on a sunny perfect beach day. The valet staff were quick and polite, opening our doors for us as we pulled up. It's $10 for valet plus tips. They actually park a lot of the cars off site because their lot is small, so prepare to wait 10-15 minutes upon leaving before you get your car back. We had a reservation for 5:45 and they seated us right away. Nicole our server was friendly and attentive, filling our waters and checking on us at least 5 times during our dinner. I ordered an espresso martini, a mixed green salad, and the Longboard roll. My husband ordered a Bulleit old fashioned, and the Cowboy steak with asparagus and roasted potatoes. My martini was like a decadent dessert, my salad was fresh and crisp, my roll jiust ok, a reminder that I shouldn't order sushi from a steak place lol. (The rice was overcooked and the wasabi was flat, not spicy). His old-fashioned was average, and the steak was fatty but tasted good. I liked his roasted potatoes. The main positives were the service and the location.
It's been a few years since I have been here but it is always worth a visit for the spectacular ocean view! We had a fantastic service and though I don't really care for margaritas, I had to get the charred pineapple and Serrano margarita as it is fantastic!! We were a larger group so went with a bunch of appetizers! Delicious truffle fries, ahi poke stack, Cardiff Reef Role, the hot rock with sashimi ahi which was spectacular and the Dungeness crab guacamole! Every dish was fresh and delicious ! Great food, drink and service with spectacular views make this a great choice for dinner any time !!
Came for lunch and sat on the top floor outside. We were a large group for an event. They were super accommodating and changed our set up so we didn't feel so divided. The servers were nice but there were so many of them I wasn't sure who to ask when we needed something. Very efficient, our appetizers and entrees all came at once so nobody was left waiting. Overall the food was pretty good, the guacamole was super good, so was the calamari and taquitos. I ordered a burger but others ordered sea bass or poke and it all looked great. The desserts were okay, the coconut cheesecake threw me off, I didn't like it, but the dark chocolate custard was delicious! Parking is Valet Parking or next to it is beach parking which was free. Great for groups or if you want a nice beach view.
Stopped in here on the way down the coast for a quick appetizer before a dinner reservation and it ended up being a great little stop. We grabbed seats at the bar, had a glass of wine, and enjoyed the view. The crab cakes were delicious and came topped with a scallop. I'm personally not a big scallop fan, but my partner said it was amazing. The salad was also very tasty, and the oysters tasted fresh. Our server was very helpful and attentive, which made the experience even better. We were in and out in about an hour, but it was such a great location that I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu. The view is amazing, and it would be the perfect place to return for sunset.
My brother and I visited PCG in Cardiff today to celebrate our grandmother's birthday. This was our first birthday without her, and I wanted to honor her memory by having lunch overlooking the water--something she would have loved. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was beautiful, the views were incredible, and the food was excellent. What truly made the experience special was our server, Ruby G. She was warm, attentive, compassionate, and provided outstanding service throughout our visit. She made us feel welcome and helped turn what could have been a difficult day into a meaningful one. Thank you, Ruby G, and the entire PCG team, for creating such a memorable experience. We will definitely be back.
Drove down to San Diego to dine at this lovely establishment. Warm and inviting ambiance, with indoor window and outdoor seating to take in the views of the Pacific. Service was a little on the slow side initially. We actually had to find the manager to ask who was waiting the area where we were seated. Not a good look. Once served, the staff was very accommodating and we were served in a timely fashion. Very clean establishment with low noise levels. We just ordered salads and they were pleasant. Nothing over the top. They do offer valet parking which was nice. Located in a trendy area with shops and other restaurants. Definitely work checking out especially for the views and to be able to watch the sunset.

From booking reservations, the amazing food we had, the atmosphere and ambiance were all wonderfully top tier. My first time and I would highly recommend this restaurant. We were right by the water, it was so beautiful to watch the sunset. As soon as we walked in, the hostess and waiters were very welcoming and directed us straight to our table. They were all quick, friendly and checked up on us. We ordered some drinks that were good. Kiwi strawberry cocktails, ordered lobster dip with corn and tortillas to go with it, lobster and shrimp chowder and fried banana split-- everything was delicious!! Can't wait to try more food next time...I would definitely come back again!! read more

I came here for the last night of my trip to watch the sunset and the staff kindly moved my boyfriend and I to a window seat on the second floor when the bottom floor was too hot. We split all of our food and a lot of our items were delicious! We ordered: Surf & turf hot rock (8/10 tasted good but more gimmicky than anything) Short rib empanadas (3/10 these really were a let down - too dry and kind of flavorless) Coconut crab crusted mahi mahi (8/10 good flavor!) Pacific paella (9/10 this was delicious but it didn't have the crispy bottom I love in paellas!) Apple pie (10/10 this was a perfect way to end the night!) read more

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and we're so glad we found this gem. Starting with ambiance, we sat outside so we had a nice view of the ocean. Service was great. Misael was our server and he was awesome along with the manager who offered us another seat after dinner to enjoy ourselves since the wind started to kick in. But the star of the show was probably my seafood Cobb salad. It was made perfectly and tossed so well. Other items we ordered were: calamari, 1/2 dz oysters, seafood pasta, and for our beverages, we got the maple old fashioned and basil strawberry lemonade (non alcoholic). If we didn't live 1.5 hrs away, I would definitely make this place a regular visit. Not featured was their cheesecake which was light and delicious, not too sweet. read more

This place is a phenomenal location for any type of celebratory event. You really can't beat the ocean views and fresh fish here. We celebrated a friend's engagement here and the service was great. The margaritas and fries were also a standout. I'd recommend ordering an extra side of caesar dressing if you get the salad as it was a bit dry. Everything else was perfect! Be advised, parking in their lot is valet only. read more

I was in San Diego and looking for a nice spot on the water for lunch -- Pacific Coast Grill delivered perfectly. The restaurant offers a great beer and wine list along with a solid selection of main courses. We started with the Dungeness crab guacamole, which was fresh and flavorful, and I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos, served with black beans, rice, and pico de gallo, with a choice of corn or flour tortillas. Everything was well-seasoned and nicely presented. The view from the main dining room was stunning -- completely unobstructed, overlooking the beach. Service was friendly, prompt, and attentive throughout the meal. read more

Great food!, incredible ocean view! Only issue was parking. We were told we could parking in beach parking lot. Since covud we prefer not to valet park. We saw the cops andvstarted asking questions we finally told we needed to move our car inmiddle of our entree we left to move our car. We paid $15.00 for beach lot and $10.00 for valet parking. Please train all employees and the valet service when asked if it is OK to park in beach lot while dining day NO. We addressed it via the Open Table private message. Never heard from them. I assume they don't care. Very disappointed. read more

Came for dinner last night. We tried the hot rock sashimi and calamari for appetizers. The calamari was amazing! Generous portion, lemon wedges and the breading was perfect. The hot rock was a novelty but pretty disappointing as I just had a tataki at another seafood place that was amazing so a pass for all of us. Carlos was our server and was fast efficient and helpful. For entrees we got the miso glazed Chilean sea bass, bbq salmon with pineapple salsa, ribs and the porcini scallops and everyone gave their entrees a 10/10 and clean plates. We finished with the butterscotch apple pie with Tahitian vanilla gelato and the crust was so good and someone took the time to craft a beautiful delicious dessert. The ambiance here is a rarity. You can sit with the oven crashing beneath you on the patio or enjoy the inside dining room. Thank you for another wonderful night out and we look forward to returning to try other things. read more
We couldn't have had a more perfect evening at Pacific Coast Grill. We arrived right at sunset, which made the whole experience feel extra special. Valet was super reasonable at $10, and we grabbed a drink at the bar before being seated. The bartender was incredibly friendly and helpful, made us excellent Old Fashioneds, and gave us some great menu recommendations. We ended up sitting upstairs with a beautiful ocean view. We took his advice and ordered the shrimp dumplings, green flash nigiri, and the paella, and wow... everything was amazing! The green flash was a standout, absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this spot for a date night by the beach. Great food, great service, and unbeatable views. We'll definitely be back! read more
This was the most fun I've had at a restaurant in recent memory. Big party of 8, seated as close to the breakers as diners can sit, just about anywhere along the Pacific Ocean. Festive lighting and gorgeous, comfortable ambiance, lightning fast and attentive waitstaff and fish dishes galore. From MAHI to CALAMARI to SEA BASS to FISH 'N CHIPS to OYSTERS this was FISH GAME ON! Super crafty cocktails got us started (HAZY IPA on tap, ROWDY MARGARITAS and more. Then came the ice cold, perfectly anchovy-ish CAESAR SALAD. Valet Parking $10. Easy and breezy. Do this! Do it NOW! read more

The ambiance was costal, chill, and a touch of elegance. The service was very pleasant and looked into different meals that may have an allergy that one of our friends had. The calamari was very breaded and greasy, but the chipotle dipping sauce was delicious! We asked to split the salad and mahi-mahi and the meal came out pretty-cut to be split, which was very nice and tasteful. Salad was soggy, but the fish was delicious! read more
We've been coming here for lunch for years and, of course, the view and ambience are amazing, but the food and service are consistently excellent, too. I had the sea bass that was beautifully plated, a generous portion and tasted delicious. My husband loves their "Bag of Bones" where the meat just falls off the bones. Messy, but delicious. Plus, they have a great selection of specialty cocktails that are reasonably priced. Last, but least, our server, Carlos, was wonderful. Parking is limited, so be prepared to pay for valet parking. read more

Great location right on the beach but terrible service. We were seated on the upper patio, the dirty plastic shade was blocking good view. Ask for bottom patio. Food was good, but nothing phenomenal. We made a reservation noting that we'll be celebrating my birthday. I had to run after them and beg to bring a candle. They said "ooo sorry pay for your desert" I said no need. They ended up charging us for desert & also extra $4 for the 1 candle that you can buy 10 of in dollar store. Great selection of margaritas but Drinks were just ok. So if you go there don't expect anything great. Mediocre at best. read more
Food: Pacific Paella was delicious. An excellent choice if you're having trouble deciding on what seafood to get, as it's got a nice ensemble of everything you want (including lobster, scallops, muscles, clams). The Oaxaca Old Fashioned was tasty, but very slightly watered down (even better the ice started melting) Service: Definitely get a reservation, as it was pretty packed even on a weeknight. The servers were polite and nice enough to check to see if outdoor seating was available when we asked on a nice weather day. Seating: Both indoor and outdoor seats, as well as upstairs area. Nice beach view, but the outdoor angles can get bright, so bring sunglasses in case. Parking: Valet parking is $10 (subject to change). Pricey, but worth the peace of mind, especially sinxe you have to pay for parking along the beach anyway, and those nearly all have time limits for added stress. The valets take card, so don't worry about needing cash. Vibe: Nice spot for a date or a get-together with friends. read more
Location was gorgeous. Food was good. Service was great. So it's a 4 On the beach in Cardiff inside or out, what can be better? Service was a seasoned server named Barry who was perfect. Helpful, understated and not intrusive and nothing lacked. Loved our server. Give him a raise! We loved the wine by the glass list which actually had good wines on it, albeit not many, but all competitively priced and all very good and not cheap crap like I'm seeing a lot of nowadays. And the blood orange margarita was great. Oysters were generously sized and very fresh Kumamoto oysters priced decently. The only thing that was just ok, despite the creative efforts was only having a passion fruit mignonette and not just a regular one. Passion fruit and oysters just doesn't work for me. So the lemon and Tabasco did instead. But great fresh oysters! Large! Roll sizes with 10 pieces each. Loved the Cardiff roll but those jalapeños were not spicy at all.. sad. Otherwise this was a yummy roll. And the sunshine roll with the coconut shrimp and macadamia nuts was consumed by my husband who gave it 5 stars. Only thing we were not excited about was the smoked chicken taquitos which had dry chicken and didn't have any smoke to it. But it was still good and crisp and decent. Valet parking for $10 plus tip. Don't be tempted to park in the beach lot next door because that gets gated off after sunset and would be a sad ending for the night if your car was trapped!. The food was INCREDIBLE! The view while eating outside was AMAZING! We had to say that the service was the best part of all. We had a young man, Misael H, who was AWESOME! He was polite, attentive, knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly, happy, and most of all, very personable. We even spoke about his family. Met a friend here for dinner. We were there early in the evening so were able to get a table with an excellent view of the ocean. We ordered drinks - blackberry lemonade or something similar - which unfortunately wasn't all that memorable. Moved on to the guacamole which was really delicious that evening. Just the right amount of salt and zing to it. My friend ordered mahi mahi and I got the mixed greens salad with chicken breast. My friend liked the fish. I enjoyed the salad, but the chicken breast didn't have much flavor and was dry. The dining area filled in while we were chatting, but the noise level didn't get so high that we had to strain to hear each other or talk louder. The sunset view was amazing. Our waiter was attentive and efficient. The valet was busy, but handled things quickly. The food didn't knock my socks off, but frankly that's an unrealistic expectation for every dining experience. What is parking like?
There's a Commercial Building across the street that allows parking without a fee.
When someone calls your number and it rings repeatedly before someone answers and almost immediately hangs up, does that indicate you're too busy/short staffed?

We only accept service animals.
Do you have gluten free options?
Most wine is naturally gluten-free and safe to consume on a gluten-free diet. Red and white wine is made predominantly from grapes, which are gluten free.
Are there beach views and o outside seating?
Yes, gorgeous ocean view from the patio. There's also an upper patio
Is there brunch Sundays during this covid pandemic?
Yes. U can sit in the patio with a nice ocean view
Do they happen to serve brunch on Saturday as well as Sunday?
Hello - we are a wine-tasting room, and offer on-site tasting as well as glass and bottle sales. We are open Friday - Sunday, 11 to 6 pm. Come up for a visit, and enjoy our views, and outside table service in a safely distanced manner.
How's the parking?
They have valet and there is a public, beach parking lot just to the right.
Do they have a happy hour? Details would be helpful if possible=)
You have to eat in the bar though. Till 4pm.
Is this where the old Beach House was?
Yes, it will be a combo of Charlies and the old Beach House and construction is supposed to be done by the end of the year.
Do they allow dogs on the patio?
Yes, but the patio is popular and you are not guaranteed to get a spot there even with a reservation so it's best to call ahead and let them know. The patio is for entree service only.
