The lobster was fresh and tasted really good, so no complaints about the quality. The lobster roll had a generous amount of meat and was definitely enjoyable. That said, I think the price is quite high for what you get. The place itself is very casual and simple, so considering the overall experience, the pricing feels a bit overpriced to me. Good fresh lobster, but I think the value could be better.

Basically I always come to Lobster West when I'm in the area! The food is great and the inside is so cute! Service varies but our server today was amazing! I tried the new crab mac and cheese today, which also comes in a lobster version. Definitely not disappointed!!

Lobster West is by far the best in all of San Diego! If you're looking for fresh seafood with the best toasted & buttered rolls this is the perfect place!

I keep coming back to Lobster West for the specialty seafood rolls. Raised in Maryland, crab meat has always been a favorite of mine and I must say Lobster West has the BEST crab roll I've tasted. The amount of crab meat was always perrrfect. Their freshly baked artisan bread always have a niiice crisp and lightly dressed with butter. The sides (baked beans & coleslaw) are an excellent complement to my roll. More added yummyiness!! The ambiance was very casual making it a good spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. The staff were laid-back and friendly at the same time being efficient. Everytime I'm there, I appreciated their customer service. Definitely recommend it!

Stopped by for a belated Mother's Day with daughter, my wife's favorite lobster roll. I tried the new lobster and Mac &cheese dish and was disappointed in the flavor or just in general the combination. The way that this dish was presented, the lobster did not add anything to what is a good mac & cheese, but actually distracted from it. Definitely will not recommend this dish to anyone. Other than that, everything else was great. Lobster was perfect, the bisque was as well and is usually always consistent. The baked beans remind me of camping and eating them from the can. My daughter thinks Lobster West makes the best coleslaw, but that's not my opinion. I taste something bitter in it and it's one of the few coleslaw's that I actually don't like. Go figure, same genetics and two different opinions. It's always good to keep that fact in mind for reviews. Plenty of parking and Customer Service Service was good. Seating is both inside and outside so you get a good view of Main Street. Enjoy.

This is our go-to spot whenever we're in San Diego. We love their lobster rolls, lobster bisque, and clam chowder. Everything is always super fresh and delicious! The service is friendly, and we always make a point to stop by whenever we're in town.

Decent lobster rolls, but no frech fries... Service was very nice. Places to eat outside. I'd eat here again.

The service was outstanding and Ali was knowledgeable and guest first!!! The portions were generous and outstanding!! Thank you for taking me back to Block Island!!

Lobster Roll (Boss), Lobster Mac, Clam chowder

The food was great, the lobster roll was definitely the best thing out of the bunch. The lobster mac was on the heavier side so I'd recommend only getting it if you're able to really eat. The New England Clam Chowder was a nice add on since it helped balance the flavor of everything else.

We tried different marinades and various fish, but my hands-down favorites were the lobster tacos (lemon butter) and the red snapper (fish shop) tacos. We also ordered large sides. They do NOT skimp out on these. Massive onions rings and a large pile of fries. All were delicious! The kids liked their grilled cheese sandwiches. "Best grilled cheese besides the ones we make at home." Only downside on the food was the clam chowder. Good flavor but hardly any clams (if any). I wouldn't get that again, but everything else was phenomenal. I almost rated this down to a 4 because of this (and a small order mishap), but honestly, this place is worth a solid 5 based on the overall food, vibes, and staff. This place's vibes are super chill. You can either sit inside or out. Very clean all around! Well-maintained restrooms and tables too. Solid drink options - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well! We stopped by on a weekend and while there was a decent crowd, we were luckily able to find indoor seating so we could escape the heat. Chips & Guac ($9.95): House-made chips served with a bowl of fresh guacamole. The chips were nice and crispy, while the guacamole was a tad on the saltier side but still had a fresh flavor. Grilled Mahi Plate ($19.95): Served with tartar sauce and your choice of two sides. I went with the white rice and black beans. The rice and beans were pretty standard and nothing particularly memorable, but the mahi was the highlight. It was tender, flavorful, and cooked nicely; even the little enjoyed it! There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The restaurant is also conveniently located close to the beach, making it a good option to grab a bite before or after some beach time. There isn't a private parking lot so you'll have to rely on street parking which can be a little tricky depending on how busy the area is. Overall, a solid casual seafood stop if you're in the area and looking for something easy and relatively quick.

Think of going to your friend's home who has great taste in décor, with a twist of flair. The warm amber lighting really sets a comfortable tone. For dinner, we ordered the following: Sashimi Mediterráneo: Melt in your mouth delicious. Chicken Paillard: Perfectly lemony and beautifully roasted. The salad was fresh and paired really well with the chicken. I loved the blistered capers. They went great with both the sashimi and the chicken. Dessert: Basque Cake: A soft, multi textured, biscuity French Spanish cake with vanilla pastry cream and sweet cherries. The pastry cream is baked in perfectly. It has an almost creamy cheesecake like texture, and paired with the vanilla ice cream, it was amazing. My girlfriend and I just wished there was a little more ice cream. It would have balanced the dessert even better. I'm definitely coming here again and again! I want to try their Patatas Bravas, Paella & Kabocha Soup, but I also want to get what I've ordered. That said we came back for HHour. What was disappointing to me about HHour was the dearth of selection when it came to HH priced food. Due to this dearth, pretty much everyone in the entire bar was ordering the exact same thing for happy hour: The Happy Meal, which consists of a burger, fries, 3 oysters, and champagne. The presentation of the Happy Meal is very nice. The burger tasted very much like an In N Out burger to me, but with a much larger patty. It was good, but despite the similarity we think In N Out burger slightly edged out Herb and Sea's take. The fries were quite delicious. The oysters were large, but they're taste was meh. The same could be said for the bubbles/champagne: a large pour, but nothing to write home about. Due to the lack of food choices on the HH menu, we also ordered the scallop aguachile. It would have been nice if they would have labeled it something else, like a "deconstructed" aguachile. The scallop quality was very good, and the flavor was fine, but this dish is nothing what I expected; I expected a hearty bowl of spicy fish, like one might find at Ironside (Little Italy) or Mitch's Seafood (Point Loma). They had very few beer choices, but the Bulbous Flowers was delicious!!!

Alone or with a group, it was a super cool place to go. IT'S NOT THE COOL PLACE IT USED TO BE I gave up a few months ago ordering the whole broiled artichoke which used to be amazing but now is always small, tough and burned. The sand dabs I ordered last night were mushy, greasy and tasteless. The Parmesan 'crust' was soggy. I had to ask the bartender 4 times for lemons (none came with the dish) because she would only give me 3 tiny slices at a time - perhaps they are being rationed due to Strait of Hormuz related supply chain issues? It's possible the complimentary sourdough bread is being rationed as well. IT'S NOT THE COOL PLACE IT USED TO BE In the past this restaurant was lively with all kinds of fun and warm interaction between staff, regular customers and tourists; now it is just hectic and loud. In the oyster bar area there are tv screens literally everywhere so the vibe is more sports bar-like than the vibe of a quality oyster bar.
