Second favorite was the Dawn Patrol which had many layers of flavor, including bacon and very filling. The Classic was also good and tasty. Definitely a return visit call for me. My boyfriend was soooo excited to check out this place and has definitely become a new favorite of ours. We placed our order and it took about an hour before we could pick it up. Each set is around $9 so we got a good amount of food for the price in my opinion. His favorite was the Spam Katsu and mine was the Bachan's Shrimp. The shrimp one was great and perfect is you want Musubi but might not be the biggest fan or spam like myself. I liked the tropical heat as well. The pineapple added a nice sweetness. We'll definitely be back! We're dying to try the Dawn Patrol one but it sells out quick! read more

So excited to find this delicious musubi spot after becoming obsessed with it in Hawaii! This is easily the best I've found in San Diego since coming back, and I'll definitely be returning to try more of their specials. I went with the classic this time, it's generously sized, super filling, and easily a full meal. Be sure to place your order early, especially on weekends, as pickup times can be a few hours out. Good grub Superb little takeout spot tucked away in quiet Encinitas, This Musubi Love is making some noise with some seriously good omusubi! I picked up an order of the Katsu Spam and Bachan's Chicken. The Katsu Spam was excellently fried, perfectly crispy, and the saltiness was balanced by a sticky, sweet soy sauce on a bed of sushi rice. The Bachan's chicken came with crunchy pieces of fried chicken glazed with a sweet sauce and spicy mayo on a bed of sushi rice. Really great spot, finding the entrance was a bit tricky (maybe getting a bigger sign could help), but one phone call and they helped me find them no problem. read more

This is the best musubi I have ever had and let me tell you why. The portion is large, no skimping here. I pushed eating 3 because I had to try the Bachan's Chicken, Katsu Spam, and Tropical Heat in one sitting. 2 is plenty for normal people lol. The chicken had an awesome crunch to it, katsu has a great crispy layer, and the tropical (which was my favorite) had a great juicy pineapple component to it. The jalapeño is not hot so don't worry. This is not a restaurant, pop-up or food truck...this is a certified home business in a residential area. Owner Roger was awesome! Great service from the moment he picked up the phone. We were in constant communication for pick up time. The musubis smelled soooo good that it made the long Friday drive up to OC difficult...was so tempted to pull over to snag some from my suv trunk. Despite sitting in the car for almost 2 hours the musubis were delicious. Very generous portions, good spam to rice to furikake ratio. Classic is always a solid safe choice. The katsu spam was a good play for added texture but not much different in flavor from classic so I'd stick with Classic between the two. Vegan was surprisingly flavorful. Bachan's chicken was a big hit all around but everyone's absolute favorite was the Dawn Patrol. That would make a great breakfast dish any day, any time!
