I know it's a chain and I'm sure it's the same "Manager" who claims they'll refund our money when they mess up our orders, but I didn't expect it to happen to two different locations in the same month. Ordered take out from Harumama at this location last week and my husband ordered 2 orders of the karaage chicken bao buns. We got home and there weren't any chicken in his bao buns. There was one tiny piece in one of the bao buns that didn't look like chicken. I had to take the chicken out of my ramen to give him some chicken. When my husband called, some terrible girl said "ok, next time we'll put more chicken in the bao buns" and was nearly going to hang up on us. My husband was telling her how angry we are and we want a refund, for messing our food up, yet again! She said to call back tomorrow to get the manager's approval for a refund. Again, no refund in process. Shady way to do business and seriously, who was that on the phone? Talk about low class and no customer service skills. Terrible. Lots of parking. No wait on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of seating available. Ate inside, service was great! My restaurant indulgence is takoyaki and this one disappointed. Not crispy, very little octopus, moist batter. My no fail order for the little ones is chicken katsu and Ramen so I ordered the crispy chickie ramen. These kids never fail to surprise me. We had the best experience here thanks to Anh who is an amazing server and was running everything here all by herself. I had a previous review about a prior experience at a different harumama where they got our order wrong and our kids ended without the Nutella bunnies. They've been asking about it since (a year ago). When I saw there was a harumama 10 min from where we were staying we had to check it out. Came at 1 pm, it was decently busy but we were seated quickly. All the food was amazing. We started with edamame and the cow beef buns, delicious. We got a combo including beef bulgogi udon, chicken/salmon teriyaki, and several rolls. Everything was fresh and yummy. Bunny buns came out quickly and were well received. One of the best ramen and udons I've had in San Diego! We ordered the pork potstickers, the Haru ramen, and the bulgogi beef udon. It was hard to decide which soup was the winner; both noodles had excellent texture and were perfectly cooked. I normally don't finish my broths, but here I couldnt get enough. The Haru had a delicious, creamy tonkotsu broth that was both comforting and satisfying. The chicken was flavorfull and generously portioned. I was especially surprised by the bulgogi beef udon. The broth was irresistible; slightly sweet yet packed with bold flavors. The generous portion of beef made the dish hearty and filling. I've heard about this spot from so many people and so glad I finally got the opportunity to try it out! I got the salmon poke bowl and it was the best poke bowl I've had in a long time! The portion and price is unbeatable! The salmon was fresh and the rice cooked just right! I love seaweed salad and this bowl has tons! The sauce was delicious! My coworker got the Flying Pig ramen bowl that looked absolutely amazing! I wish I would have snapped a pic but I was too busy enjoying my poke bowl! We had the vegan ramen, corn cheese and the bulgogi fries as well as the mama's French fries. The vegan ramen was just okay. Corn cheese and Bulgogi fries were delicious. Only issue was they ran out of cheese for the bulgogi fries. Without the cheese it just felt like fries on top of bulgogi, nothing to tie the dish together. This is a fusion ramen shop and everything was delicious! I got the Flying pig and it was a creamy broth with roasted brussel sprouts that gave the ramen a smoky flavor. My boyfriend got the Me So Hot which had a peanutty creamy broth and it was on the spicier side. This wasn't authentic ramen but it was great. On our way back to OC and found this place to check out their ramen and their cute buns! It wasn't too busy when we walked in and we were greeted right away and got seated. Our server was really informative about their menu and friendly. We ordered the cow, chick and unicorn character buns. The unicorn which is Ube was our favorite! Our kids got the katsu plate and was plenty for them to share! They ate the whole thing and it was very good juicy and crispy too!my husband and I shared the haru ramen with extra protein and it was delicious! I have been to this Harumama Encinitas location several times. I always look forward to the cute character buns. Family favorites! But their noodle selections always fall short for some reason. Ordered the bulgogi udon to-go last night, and the beef was so fatty, it was inedible. I have ordered other ramen before and still think other ramen places are better. Also had both Power Protein Poke and Superhero Poke and both are delicious. Wish they had more fish in their poke though. Restaurant is located in small strip mall, casual dining. I ordered the veggie egg rolls as a starter and they tasted delicious, only they were just a tad bit too greasy. The pork belly bao buns are a burst of flavor from the fluffy bun, the juicy pork belly, sweet & sour pickles, and crunchy onion crisps! Ramen here is not your traditional Japanese ramen, but they do a great job of blending fusion flavors with delicious broth and chewy noodles. We absolutely love their flavorful ramens and those cute character bao buns! For appetizers, the karaage chicken is a must-try - basically delicious chicken tenders. But I have to say, the takoyaki octopus appetizer wasn't my favorite. The texture and flavors just didn't click for me. My husband enjoyed their steak and rice entree on our last visit. I'm aiming to try one of the noodle dishes next time, drunken noodles look especially enticing. We love this place. It's very casual and in one of the Encinitas strip malls but worth a trip. All of the bao buns and noodle dishes are outstanding. The complexity and richness of their broths for their noodle dishes can't be overstated. However , wanted to write a quick review . My order was ready when I arrived and I was greeted warmly by Vinie, the manager . She gave me instructions how to warm the buns . Vinie also shared their restaurant's happy hour and lunch menus. She also reminded me to check out their Instagram posts because every month they have something new that goes with the theme of that months ...ie Valentine 's Day. I will pay more attention now . Came here to try the $20 ramen and house roll special. I ordered the Haru ramen as the options for the special was limited. It came with grilled chicken which I didn't read the menu and I was expecting charsui pork (totally my fault) the broth lacked flavor, the toppings are ok no egg with ramen I believe it's extra. I added some chili oil and it was better. The spicy tuna hand roll was pretty good and they were a good size. The chicken karaage really my favorite thing we tried. Giant pieces of marinated chicken nicely battered and had a great crunch to it! The guy that was our server was excellent checking on us frequently and fixed a couple of our orders with no problem.
