Went here when I was in Richmond. Our waitress was amazing. I wish I could remember her name…read more She answered a lot of questions and was very knowledgeable. The chef even made adaptations in my meal to make it vegan. The cauliflower steaks with rice were amazing. The spices were just right and had a good amount of heat. It was very busy but service was fast and friendly. There is upstairs and downstairs seating and the historical pictures on the walls are so interesting and look at.

Our server was helpful and indulged a few questions we had about the menu. If I remember his name, I'll add it later. The energy here exudes soul food, including the soundtrack playing over the speakers. If you like Michael Jackson, which we do, you'll appreciate the vibe. I tried the bone-in pork chop within Hoppin' Johns (rice and beans), and my partner had the Fried Chicken with macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes. She said her meal was fantastic, and I tried some of the mac and cheese; it was excellent. My pork chop was much better than the one I tried at the sister location in Short Pump. However, there were so many onions that I spent a lot of time painstakingly sorting those out with my fork. The meal was delicious, but the amount of onions certainly soured my experience. This is our second time here, and while I'm glad I tried the pork chop, I think I'll try something less oniony next time. I recommend Lillie Pearl to anyone who likes a well-curated southern food menu. The new location is beautifully decorated and would provide amazing photo opportunities for anyone planning to have an event here.

Perly's was on my Richmond list and we picked up during a visit on a Friday. Around lunch so…read moreslightly busy-located downtown and street parking only didn't have any issues finding a spot right in front. We ordered sandwiches. House made Pastrami was delicious-go with the 1 lb (buy the pound) Pastrami sandwich -at least 2 if not 3 sandwiches in one. Corned Beef was also tasty and some of the best we've had. Latkas and Dill potato salad hit the spot but the Garlic Dill fries stole the show-one of a kind and not to be missed. For dessert, we saw they had Hamantaschen and got one of each-both very good with rich fruit spread topping. Service was engaged and patient (given our questions and recommendation requests) as our order was being placed. An extensive menu with everything from Beef tongue sandwich (Jewbano) to Chicken Liver as well Hot Dogs and Smoked Salmon and Whitefish. We wanted it all! Liked the atmosphere and decor with booth and bar stool seating. A must stop when visiting Richmond!

As a vegetarian, I do wish they had more options, although the staff has always been accommodating. My go-to is the Schnorrer with scrambled eggs and a potato latke, which is always a solid choice and even includes coffee. Their bagels are absolutely to die for! I always get the everything bagel with regular schmear, and it's delicious. I've also tried the vegetable knish, which was okay, but not something I'd order again. The sandwiches always look amazing, and I really wish they offered a vegetarian version. Overall, a great Richmond staple with good food, but the limited vegetarian options and difficult parking do affect my rating!

Lemaire is the restaurant located inside the historic Jefferson Hotel. If you've ever been inside…read morethe Jefferson, you know how beautiful and classic the hotel is. The restaurant matches that ambiance, and is a lot bigger than you would think it was. Also, it has private parking, just make sure you get your parking ticket validated at the restaurant. My friend treated me to a belated birthday dinner. Upon arriving, they provided a custom birthday menu, which is a great touch. This place is fancy, as in special cutlery and plates. Even the way they serve the food and the bread was fancy. But even with the fanciness... the service was great and everyone was very kind. Now to the food and drinks... The drinks weren't all that. I think they just weren't what we were used to. The bread and butter were delish, but who could say anything bad about fresh carbs and butter. They have daily special and one of them was the soft shell crab. The crab was huge and was really tasty. This was my friend's first time having soft shell crab and she really liked it too. For my main entree, I chose the roasted red snapper. Again... this place js fancy so other than the snapper, I wasn't really sure what other ingredients were in my dish. Nonetheless, it was all delicious. I finished the whole plate, which is uncommon for me. I want to add that it looks like they rotate their menu items so they might not always have the same dishes on their menu. I also wanted to note that, unless they are very well mannered or are older and appreciate fine dining, I would not suggest bringing your kids here. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night, celebration, or anytime you want a fine dining experience.

I ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer it was really good! Loved the shrimp on top. I got the organic chicken entree and a size of macaroni. That chicken was solooo good Sean told us they brine the chicken for a while and man it was good. My husband got the sirloin cooked at medium. He loved it. Very flavorful. We ended the date with the chocolate pistachio mousse tart. It was really good! The honeycomb on top was super cute. Definitely recommend coming here for a date night. Also we just moved back to Richmond and it was definitely a nice "welcome back" date night .

We were seated right away when we arrived and were immediately greeted by our server, who was friendly. The dining room was warm and cozy, like I remember it being when I used to live nearby and walk to get dinner. We ordered drinks from their wide variety of craft beer, and started with their homemade bread, which is huge but so good. For our dinner, we ordered the portabella florentine appetizer, which was really tasty. My bf got the loaded spaghetti, which he enjoyed and I got the chicken parm. Portions were huge and the chicken was perfectly crispy and covered in cheese. One meal could definitely be taken as leftover for at least another dinner, if not two. Joe's Inn is a must-have when visiting Richmond for hearty portions of classic dishes.
