Eat here for the first time last night. On the positive side of things it's a beautiful dining hall like the rest of the restaurant and the food was exceptional. Appetizers entrées and desserts were all delicious and well presented. The service was good, although it could've been a bit warmer, I would describe it as efficient ordertaking, but non-necessarily the most homely sort of service. The cocktails were good, but not exceptional and could probably use a little refinement, that being said still good enough to merit a five star review.

The Lemaire restaurant is gorgeous and located within the equally gorgeous Jefferson hotel. You'll dine in rooms with 20 ft ceilings, receive attentive service and delicious food. The decor is lovely. Yes, you pay for all of this, but it's an exquisite experience. The fried oysters were excellent! I could eat sooo many of these. Plump, crisp, wonderful with the dipping sauce. The hummus came with assorted vegetables and pita. This was a clean, freak, simple starter. Everyone enjoyed their food here. Some weren't wow'd with the flavors, but said they still enjoyed it. I had the beef tenderloin and it was yummy. Well seasoned, a great portion of broccolini, mash, and overall a nice dish. There were spots with excess droppings of salt, but nothing that deterred me. The bread pudding dessert was so good! Balanced all around with flavors. The creme brulee was ok, but I was actually more pleased with the accompanying gingerbread cookie! Wine and cocktails were enjoyed by everyone and overall, it was a memorable dinner. I recommend it for special occasions.

Definitely a higher end of service but not that great of a service for the pricing and how they portray themselves. Our table didn't get cleaned up for dessert, no towels, etc. I guess we were expecting more? It was super pretty but that's about it.

Located inside the beautiful and historic Jefferson Hotel, Lemaire is an elevated restaurant with an impressive yet intimate atmosphere. For dinner, definitely make a reservation! They provide validated parking for their lot directly across from the hotel which is convenient. Officially, the dress code is casual but I'd say most diners erred towards the side of business casual. For starters, we ordered the ahi tuna tartare which had a sesame vinaigrette that allowed the flavors of the tuna to shine through. The oysters on the half shell were fresh and paired well with a mignonette and cocktail sauce. The beef short rib was incredibly tender and absolutely perfect. I had the halibut as my main dish which was flavorful and came with cucumber greens and a bed of rice. For dessert, we had the chocolate tart which was rich with dark chocolate ganache and paired perfectly with vanilla ice cream. The bananas foster bread pudding felt so home-y and had warm flavors, topped with crunchy pecans, rum caramel and vanilla ice cream. Their menu options vary over time which is nice to try different dishes over the seasons. Between the food, ambiance and the attentiveness of the staff, Lemaire is an amazing choice for any special occasion.

My daughter took me here for my birthday! The food was divine! The weight staff were so friendly and helpful. It's a classy restaurant inside of a historical hotel. You will want to dine here and possibly spend the night.

Stuffy atmosphere but unparalleled food. I've had the tenderloin, the scallops, and many fish dishes here. I wish I felt like I belonged but it's ok, I'll still go with blinders on.

Perfect date night! Decided to go out for dinner last minute and Lemaire was a quick walk from our hotel! Our server was attentive and polite! The food was absolutely delicious. The fried oysters was hands down my favourite part of the meal! I could literally eat a bucket load of these! The duck breast and the bouillabaisse were also very delicious! I had a mocktail which was also absolutely delicious! Would 100% recommend!

This was an excellent dining experience when we were in Richmond the last time. Conveniently located within the Jackson hotel this establishment serves up nothing but the best! This time, we were there for dinner, and our server was excellent at making recommendations for our enjoyment. The service was impeccable; everything was pristine, napkins are folded when you step away from the table, and overall conversations with the weight staff are polite and informative. They make excellent recommendations as far as food and drink or concerned. We had the crabcake and the Manakintowne lettuces to start, and had the halibut and sea scallops for our main dishes. With such a marvelous meal, we then treated ourselves to dessert - chocolate ganache tart and coconut panna cotta were delicious, especially with a nice glass of tawny port. Definitely Recommended - can't wait to try breakfast and lunch the next time we visit!

We visited the Jefferson Hotel's Lemaire restaurant lounge for drinks and appetizers. The drinks and food were very good, though the bar area is a bit small with limited seating at what appeared to be four to five cafe tables with chairs. They do also have a bar to sit at. For food, we really enjoyed the fried deviled eggs. The four half-eggs came with some ham and greens as well as chili sauce. They were delicious. We also ordered the cheese charcuterie board, which came with fig jam, fresh fruit, four slices of bread, four slices of cheese, and a scoop of pimento cheese. It also was very good. Friendly staff did their best on a busy night with a smile on their faces.

We were in town visiting family and stopped here for appetizers and dinner. The hotel is spectacular and the restaurant was super cute on the inside. Our waitress was super nice and did a great job. I had the afternoon delight and it was super good and refreshing. The fried devil eggs are a must try!! I don't even like devil eggs that much and they were killer. We also had the fried oysters which were good and I loved the sauce they came with. I bet the dinner is good here but its worth it to stop in for a drink and appetizers.

you are looking for great French food without a reservation, this is the place for you! They have delicious Virginia Peanuts and olives while you wait, along with a fantastic wine menu. l'a also like to recommend the Cold Salmon plate, as well as the Deviled Egg!

The menu has so many tempting options that it was hard to choose, but we both landed on the Hot Chicken Sandwich with cayenne butter--and we're glad we did. It had the perfect amount of heat: enough to bring some spice without overpowering the flavor. On the side, I ordered the green beans after our bartender/server highly recommended them. Normally, green beans wouldn't be my first choice, but they were seasoned perfectly and ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the meal. My partner chose the mac and cheese, which was the superior side (although both were excellent). The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine throughout the evening. Despite arriving on a Friday night without a reservation, we had no trouble getting a table. They only accept reservations for parties of 5-8, so I'm glad we decided to take our chances. One of my favorite parts of the evening was chatting with another guest at the bar. He and his wife shared several entrées with their young son, and they couldn't stop raving about the short ribs--which their son happily claimed for himself by the end of the meal! They also highly recommended the salmon, so we've already got ideas for our next visit. The only real downside has nothing to do with the restaurant itself: parking in Scott's Addition can be a challenge. I'd recommend allowing yourself some extra time to find a spot or, even better, taking a rideshare so you can start enjoying your evening right away. Lunch. Supper! has earned its reputation as a longtime Richmond favorite. Great food, excellent service, and a relaxed atmosphere make this an easy five-star recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

Although I wanted my burger to be well done and I didn't get it that way, it was still pretty good. The fries though, I think was the best part of it. The fries were perfectly seasoned and crunchy! I also ordered a coke. Just a heads up, they don't do free refills on the sodas, so each cup is $4. My party also ordered salmon l'orange and a romano salad with salmon. My friends really enjoyed their main dishes, but we did ask for extra dressing. The restaurant is decorated in a boho-style vibe, and it was cute. Upon entering, I was reminded of a 1950s pharmacy by the humongous "Prescriptions" sign hanging above the bar, and the antique furniture, bar, and barstools splayed throughout Tarrant's. Our server, Nadia, was an enchanting brunette, training another young server, Sierra. She took our drink orders and gave us plenty of time to review the menu, checking in after a few minutes to see if we were ready. We finally decided, my partner ordered the 10" Bianca White (pizza), and I chose the Sailor Sandwich. Unfortunately, the sailor was not in the cards for me, and Nadia suggested the Reuben as they were similar. They brought out breadsticks while we waited, and the food arrived within 10-15 minutes. I was pleased with the atmosphere, the old-fashioned chandeliers, the large mirror, the floral paintings, and the rustic frames, all of which added to the restaurant's stated aesthetic. The pizza was hot and savory, while the Reuben had buttery toast, crispy corned beef, and a light smattering of sauerkraut (TBH, I didn't even notice the sauerkraut). For dessert, we indulged in the upside-down walnut apple pie, served with vanilla ice cream, all made from scratch, and beautifully delicate. Our time at Tarrant's Cafe seemed like a stroll into the past; the only indication of modernity was the ordering kiosk used by the staff. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good!
