Along with them came half a dozen of other people's mail items. Being a good citizen, I did the post office's work. Entering through the only operating door (for at least the last week), I dropped the entire batch inside. This would be a classic example of Zohran Mandami's definition of bureaucratic complacency on the part of the post office. The Merrifield Post Office is beyond disreputable and dysfunctional. My only reason for using it is convenience, but even that is becoming shaky.

Housed in an adorable white sided house in a residential area, this PO is quite small and cramped with an awkward parking lot in back. Sometimes there's a long line, sometimes there's nobody. Often the clerks are cheerful, every once in a while they're surly and/or slow. Even so, it's a nice feeling walking into this post office and not being a cold and sterile place where people could care less about you, which is how the larger post offices (like the one near Westfields) typically feel like.

I had had to lug the heavy items back, call the shipper, waste 40minutes, redo the 2 qr codes because it was shipped to me in 2 packages. A week before I did the exact same process with no issues for 2 other packages in one order and already got my refund. Some people when they have a tiny power, they want to exercise it on customers to show their authority. Totally unfit to deal with customers. Terrible attitude, most unhelpful. I will never use the service again. Now I have to take these boxes again to another ups hopefully with better employees.

I'm pleased that they are usually the least expensive. Here the staff is friendly and efficient. They have professional men and women. Lines do exist sometimes, but that's any post office. This is a good one.
