If you go, more likely than not there will be a line. BUT the clerks are almost always wonderfully pleasant, patient and helpful, and most patrons are likewise. I love this post office and almost always go here to buy stamps or send packages just because it is so much more chill.

In any event, she was just so pleasant and friendly. I was headed to the airport and needed to use a restroom before I sat in traffic for like an hour on my way. I kinda was like... "hey... you guys don't have a public restroom in here do you?" I mean... I was 99 percent ready to hear a "no". And she said, hey yeah I can let you use our restroom as long you don't make a mess, kill anyone, or do drugs in there. She was joking obviously. I laughed heartily and she escorted me back. What a kind gesture to let me use their employee restroom. Anyways, I had no idea this post office was here. It's quite tucked into a neighborhood in Glen Echo. When the GPS told me to turn, I almost did not thinking that it must be the wrong street. It's like you're turning into a residential area, and there's a historic building with a post office in it. And how often do you get a friendly post office employee btw? I'm sorry, I don't like to generalize, but I think that might be a first. In fact, my next review might be of the post office behind the home depot across from Montgomery Mall where the post worker yelled at me when I asked him if that was "really the cheapest way to send my post." Le sigh. Might have to make a trip out of my way to get to this B.

Parking was challenging and treacherous--every spot was full despite it being a weekday morning, and people were pulling out from in front of the store right into the lane for drive-thru letter drop off. Once I got inside, the box for prepaid mail was locked, presumably because it was full. There was a line of almost 10 customers waiting, with only two busy employees doing their best to handle the queue. I left my boxes in a pile on the front counter with other prepaid mail. But I honestly considered leaving and going to another post office, because everything here seemed so disorganized.

I've continued the tradition long after social isolation: the shipments include, for example, magazines I've read; nut free snacks; and items I have bought new for this purpose. Post offices are highly variable in usage rate. I'll bet the USPS tracks this. They must. Staff also are not the same in efficiency. The reason I like this specific option is proximity to where I stay when I check in my elderly father and its relative lack of business. It is noticeable underused. The first factor ensures I would patronize the place even if it weren't great. The second factor could be adversely affected by my own actions. You have to worry that posting a positive review will encourage others in a manner that degrades exactly what you were praising. That is the risk of trying to perform a public service.

They were very nice bearing with me and even let me borrow a measuring tape as I had to go around and measure several boxes to find the one that would fit my needs. This is a great local business that fills a need in the community! It also is great to have a store that sells odds and ends in this area, and a place that you can go for shipping with much more flexible hours than the post office.

It provides real customer service…read more They are super friendly, very efficient, and if your label or box needs more tape, they take care of it-some other pack-and-ship stores will make you buy a roll of tape, but not here. They have free, convenient parking and will help you carry in large or bulky packages unless they re all very busy with other customers. But, if they're busy, 99% of the time another customer will help. When a store is helpful, convenient, efficient, and friendly, customers aren't stressed or pushy, and everyone in line knows they'll get good service, so they help each other. I use this store whenever I'm going to be in McLean/Arlington, and the one on 4200 Mass Ave NW in DC, (I live in NW DC), as they are the 2 best shipping/packing stores in the whole DMV.

It was clear that the employee and the customer were having a good time talking, and then another, more senior employee with headphones on would come and yell at the employee helping the customer from time to time. He would say really rude things and talk down to him and it was super uncomfortable to witness. Once the employee was finally able to help me, he started FaceTiming his girlfriend or someone he knew on his phone. I'm guessing it was his gf because he was saying really inappropriate things, while I was in complete shock. I was literally standing in front of him asking him questions and taping up my package and felt like I was interrupting his convo... I had to wait until whatever he was finished saying so I could pay and wrap up the transaction. I know this is the USPS, but even from the most basic customer service perspective, come on!!! How do you not feel ashamed to have an extremely private conversation on speaker phone in front of a customer? USPS also provides surveys on their receipts for transactions, so I will definitely report this.
