I have very little confidence left in this location. I always wonder how hard it really is to get a job in USPS because the priority of good customer service is very sometimey. Package was recently lost and still no real explanation as to how. At first it was misdelivered, then it was probably stolen and now it's just "lost" (they can't tell me if it's lost on a truck or inside the location or what.........awesome). I hope the carrier who "lost" my package enjoys it. Some fill-in that needs to get re-trained (or fired ... either works for me) botched my delivery while my current regular carrier is on vacation. Maybe i'll only order stuff when I can be sure my regular carrier can deliver it.

Maureen answers and I say "Hey my name is (first and last), I had a missed call two hours ago." MAUREEN SAYS "No, I didn't call anyone." As if she's the only one that makes outgoing calls in the entire building. Then I explain that the missed call would have been for a package being redelivered and she says "yeah no. I didn't call anybody I don't know who might have." Instead of doing her damn job and asking what my tracking number is so she can figure out what WHOEVER called me might have been calling for or even maybe who I might of spoken with prior to that. Poor customer service and very poor attitude. I literally had to take control of the situation and do her job for her and tell her to take my tracking number! (Are y'all hiring??? ) ***After waiting for 10 minutes on hold she comes back to say she doesn't see my envelope and that they don't even call people to tell them about delivery. #1 I said package and #2 you have the tracking number and I'm sure if you used it, you'd see it's a 30 lb damn box, unless it's a check in it for a million dollars I don't think that's possible for an envelope mam. #3 I just said I had a missed call, which means forget if you usually don't, APPARENTLY somebody did. I simply said "well I don't just randomly have a missed call from Usps after giving the lady at the counter my number yesterday, did you not use the tracking number I gave you?" She rudely gave me a "hold on hold on". I started writing this review after that very moment and I'm more than likely still on hold as you're reading this...

Since 2004 I have complained to this PO in writing and in person numerous times and nothing has…read morechanged. I have lodged complaints about not receiving packages at all or packages being marked "delivered" on the tracking system when it was not. I have had several occasions when mail carriers left notices saying they attempted a delivery, but I was home at the time and know no one ever knocked on my door. For example, just last Monday my mail carrier left a delivery attempt notice in my box, you know the one that you sign so they know its okay to leave the package on the next delivery attempt. I signed it. The next day, Tuesday, my wife was home when the mailman came by and she handed him the signed slip. But my package wasn't on his truck, meaning he took it off his truck after his shift the previous day and never even planned to make a second delivery attempt the next day. He took the slip and said he would bring the package the following day. The following day, Wednesday, was yesterday and no delivery or delivery attempt notice left in my box. Now today is Thursday and I have to be late to work again because I need this package asap and have no choice but to go the post office first thing this morning to look for it. This is type of thing that happens all the time with these folks and it is insanely frustrating. Why can't they just do their freaking job and deliver the packages without playing games with the system or trying to NOT deliver them. I think they are just trifling and lazy and don't want to get out of their truck and want everyone to go pick up their packages instead of them delivering them. Its clearly an office culture supported by management because the same thing happens no matter who my mail person is. I understand mail carriers have discretion to not leave a package if it is unsafe to do so or if packages get stolen often in that area but these factors do not apply to my neighborhood. They need to stop being lazy and do their job.

On a positive note, the staff I've encountered when visiting this Post Office have always been…read morepleasant. Now, as for mail delivery, that's a different story. I am CONSTANTLY getting the wrong mail! There's a house behind me with the same house number and we get each other's mail all the time not to mention other neighbors too. My packages are often left on my neighbors' porches, wrong mail in my box... those are consistent problems. It just seems like there isn't as much care given to addresses as there should be.

A Great Resource for ALL!…read more This library is simply, a gem. It often gets overlooked between the hustle and bustle of the congested, busy Oxon Hill Road traffic and slue of neighboring businesses. As an avid bookworm and lover of books, I've seen this library many times while on my commute riding home but today I was off and decided to stop by and venture in. Although not much to look at on the outside, I must say I was impressed with the interior of the library and its collection. Although the collection of books are small compared to other libraries around, they were still relevant and current. What makes this library special is that they have a huge collection of African-American history and literature..... actually, as I learned from the head librarian, it is one of the largest collections of African-American history books and literature in the Washington DC area. I spent some significant time and this section of the library and really enjoyed it. Lots of knowledge and artifacts for the avid readers and knowledge seekers. I also couldn't help but notice a community puzzle that was laid out on a table that was really cool! I even added a couple of the missing pieces myself and found it to be very cathartic--relaxing. In all, neighborhood libraries can be a bit of lost nostalgia, but I find these resources to be very important in today's digital world. It's great to step into a space and actually feel, read, engulf yourself into reading materials as oppose to glaring screens and tablets. I highly recommend stopping by this library and giving it your patronage. It is open to all, whether you are a DC or Maryland resident. The staff is truly knowledgeable and seemed very happy to help with my questions/requests. The facilities is fully Wi-Fi enabled and can service a great stop for quick teleworking. It's the historical reference for me about this library and the vast collection of African-American literature that makes this place a stand out. They will even go back to the old collections and pull something out for you. They even have a wide variety of events, programs, including educational programs and lectures. And if they don't have what you are looking for, they can order it from another library and have it brought in for you. Not to mention, your library card gives you full access to digital materials and a library service called Libby, which contains just about anything you would find both old and current in any bookstore for free. I definitely recommend a stop by to this library. I have something for all ages. Enjoy!

We have been to a few libraries for story time and Oxon Hill is hands down the best. They do a great job picking books that engage the kiddos. Plus the music/movement breaks are always on point. The staff is always friendly, engaging, and welcoming. I adore this library and highly recommend their story time for the little humans. Let me also add that they have a great Children's book section.
