American twin Movers (ATM) Will treat your belongings as if it were one. I contracted them to move me from Alexandria to Fairfax. They quoted me a price of 2500. They took 11 hours to move me. That included their one hour lunch. They also, per their services offered, packed my belongings. The foreman wrapped each individual utensil separately. I did not have a lot of furniture to move. The bulk of the boxes were full of clothes. As it relates to furniture I had a coffee table, two sofas, a dining room table, four dining chairs, a kitchenette table, two beds, for nightstands, and a desk. I paid them a $50 tip. When I opened up the boxes at my new place they had stolen all of my high dollar clothes: Burberry, Nike, under armor, Coach, and several down coats. NOAM ISRAEL AND ISAAC Refused to take my calls after several attempts. Isaac was always on vacation. Be careful because Mr. Israel will curse you out. The movers were three Hispanic guys. they did not know that I understood Spanish. They talked terribly about the two individuals are named above. However, the two individuals aforementioned, stated that I must've lost my clothes. Impossible! they took very select pieces from my dresser and my closets. If I lost one coat I would've lost all of my coats because they were all in one closet. Do not use this company they are crooks. These guys are running a scam. We were quote $2500 for a two bedroom apartment move to another apartment which was 4 miles away. After all said and done they charged the card $4600!! On top of that they clocked themselves at 830am but didn't get to the apartment till 1030am to start the move. They said they were looking for parking which is a lie, we had reserved the docking station for them. I will be contacting the Maryland District Attorney and also the the consumer protection agency. They charged the card without authorization too. I email them on Thursday and I haven't heard anything back. In agreement with the review below that this company deserves ZERO stars. I spoke with a customer representative and received a quote for my move. They gave a fair price and I agreed to pay the deposit. A few moments later I got a call back from the representative saying that she had given an inaccurate estimate, and that the price would actually be hundreds of dollars more. I told her I was uncomfortable with the new price and would have to think about it and she told me that she would not be charging me a deposit. Fast forward a few days, I'm sitting at home when I get a call from an unknown number and it's a driver who's asking if he can come a day earlier than scheduled because it would be more convenient for him (which in of itself is ridiculous considering how stressful and time-consuming packing and moving is). I then check my CC and see that they charged me a deposit and were actually planning to move me. Through a call to the service rep, I find out that it was in their policy to charge me, that cancellation would require written agreement (although I had never received deposit receipt OR confirmation email), and that they had tried to call me (they had not - if they had, it was from an unfamiliar number). Basically this company SUCKS. Avoid at all costs. Don't make moving a more stressful event than it already is. read more

Awful experience with American Twin movers! They sent 3 guys to move my one bedroom apartment that was one mile up the hill to my new place. Everything was packed and ready but not only did each guy take multiple 10 minute bathroom breaks, they carried one lamp each on several trips, and caused me to actively participate in moving boxes so that they'd move quicker. Did not wrap any of my picture frames as promised, nor put back together my headboard and bed, citing "the screws weren't there." Tore my bed encasement, and in the end they somehow lost an antique mirror along with a box that included a lamp I got in Morocco the day my dad died. Also lost screws that were TAPED to my kitchen table for easy reassembly. Not only that but the guys hands were so dirty that all my furniture had black handprints all over. My concession? $75 refund. Due to the slow, and 'obviously trying to stretch the time to make extra $$' a move that was quoted $650 ended up being $907. Awful. Never use this company. Let me start by saying that if I could give this company zero stars, I would. I used this company for a long distance move from the east coast to the west coast. The initial process started out OK. I contacted them based on an Internet search. I spoke with one of the account managers named Noam Israel and he gave me a fairly competitive estimate over the phone. We scheduled a meeting at my storage unit so he could assess the total inventory of furniture and provide me with a final quote. During this meeting I told him that I needed my furniture to arrive at the end location by a certain time frame and this, along with price, would be the deciding factor whether or not I would use this company for my long distance move. The time frame was one month from the date of pickup. Noam assured me that the furniture would arrive there within the time frame I specified. He said they would pick up the furniture from my storage unit by that weekend, and ship it early the following week. I met the movers at my storage unit that Saturday and they were very professional and they packed and loaded my furniture into their truck fairly quickly. This was the end of anything professional with this company. Towards the end of the following week, I had not heard back from Noam regarding the shipping of the furniture. I assumed the furniture would be shipped that Monday or Tuesday due to Noam's word. When I contacted him, he told me that the furniture had not shipped yet because they were "waiting for an available truck". Keep in mind that I had given them half of the money upfront to ensure my furniture makes it onto a truck. My furniture was not shipped out until the following week, which ate into the time frame that I had. Noam again assured me that they would be able to meet the time frame. Then Noam became unreachable. A week after my furniture was supposedly shipped to the west coast, I proceeded with my travel to the final destination to wait for the furniture. I called Noam several times during this period to get the status of the delivery, but was not able to reach him. He also did not reply to voice mail or email. I eventually called the number on the American Twin Movers website and spoke to someone who was able to give me the number of the truck driver who was transporting my furniture. The driver informed me that my furniture would be delivered that weekend. Two weekends later, my furniture was still not delivered. The driver had informed me that the delay was due to them not able to get payment from certain customers. So instead of them delivering my furniture first (a paying customer ready to provide them with the second half of the payment), they chose to delay my furniture delivery to accommodate delinquent customers. At this point my time line for when I had to have the furniture at the end destination, and when I was told the furniture would be delivered, had come to its end. I had to leave the country for work and would not be back until a month later. They put my furniture into storage and I had to pay an additional fee for re-delivery. I paid it because I needed my furniture and it seemed that they were holding it for ransom. When I finally received my furniture, several pieces of my furniture were damaged. Along with a missing painting, a missing wall mirror, and a missing box of shoes! If you didn't have time to read my entire review, do your self a favor and skip this company. TRUST ME. Do not use this company they are dishonest and overcharge for their services. I hired this company in August 2020 to move me out of my home after my divorce and they quoted me an estimate of $2,100, that includes 5hrs of moving by 3 men. Anything above that is $175/hour. I asked about what I should expect in term of hours. They told me 5 hrs should do it. What they don't tell you is that they make up how many hours it takes to load your items and transportation costs. By the time they actually get to your house, they have used up 4hrs. Then they make up charges and I ended up paying $4,500. How does $2,100 end up being $4,500? They saw me as a single woman and they took advantage of me and my situation. DON'T EVER USE THEM. Working with this company was a nightmare. They do not seem equipped to manage a long distance move. When I initially made the reservation I was told that there would be no problem in making my delivery. At pick-up I was up-charged about $400 from the initial estimate. The delivery took 7 weeks! Their contract states that delivery typically takes 7-10 business days and is guaranteed within 30 business days. Due to the business day stipulation, they were technically only 10 days late. They pay $30 per day that they are late - this DOES NOT cover the expense of living without the majority of your essentials for 7 weeks! Communication throughout those 7 weeks was horrendous. Each conversation I had with their operation managers was completely inconsistent from the prior with different delivery date estimates and seemingly arbitrary calculations of the final cost. I felt like I had to pull teeth for them to agree to adhere to their own contract. I would reference I prior conversation and each time the response was "well you didn't talk to me." When I asked what I should do if I couldn't be home on a potential delivery date, one of the managers laughed at me and told me that I just better make sure I am available. In order to avoid more hassle with this company, I canceled travel plans twice based on that conversation. My stuff of course did not arrive on either of those dates. At about the 30 day mark, an operation manager told me that they just didn't have enough trucks going in my direction. I asked if he could have predicted the lack of trucks when I initially made the reservation. He said no, which makes zero sense for a company that is based on logistics. When my stuff was delivered a bookshelf had multiple chips and the plastic cover they created for my mattresses was torn in multiple places leaving the mattress uncovered against their warehouse and truck surfaces. They will quote you 7-10 days, then it will change to 7-10 "business days," then when they show up with the actual contract, you'll have to read it to see that it's actually up to 21 to 30 days. They give you the run around incessantly, and Noam Israel - operations manager of some sort - is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. I've called and left voicemails. I've tried to get in touch with someone who can give me an estimate of delivery or even just a reason why it's taking so long. Saying the customer service reps are less than helpful is a compliment. When we asked why it was taking so long after we were quoted little over a week by multiple representatives of the organization, the rep became indignant and refused to give any elucidation. American Twin Mover's did a great job picking up my belongings, provided some additional packing and took all my items and placed them in temporary storage while I found my Southern California destination. They transported all my belongings to my new destination, unloaded everything quickly and cleaned up all the trash when they were done. They told us our stuff would arrive a week or two later. We then got a call a few days later saying "your movers will arrive in 24-48 hours and here is their contact info". That sounded great that our things were early! When I called that person he said "that's not what they told you. They said 24 hours at the earliest but maybe next week. They NEVER said 24-48 hours". That time frame is fine, but why was someone yelling at me on the phone about a conversation he wasn't even a part of. He then said he would call when he was an hour or two away. Instead, on the Fourth of July, he called at 9 pm and said he was around the corner. Luckily we were home but he didn't give any of the warning he said he would. The contract said on drop off to pay in cash, cashiers check, or money order. So I had gone to my bank and gotten a certified money order as instructed (I even called the company to make sure while I was at the bank and they said that was correct). He then proceeded to yell at me that I told him on the phone I had cash and why did I get a money order? He also told me the money order was no good because it was from the bank and not the postal service. He yelled over and over that I told him I had cash (of course I didn't, cause I never intended to pay in cash). He yelled for a while and said I "better get cash by 9am tomorrow because they are coming back then and that's the last attempt, last chance". When I said I would go to the post office in the morning to get the type of certified money order he wanted he yelled more and said he would not give us our stuff if I didn't get cash... again... not what the contract said. Meanwhile, while he stood at our front door yelling at us for doing exactly what the contract said, the cardboard boxes with our things were sitting on the wet street in the rain. Called last week for a quote. Gentleman on the phone made me feel extremely at ease, explained the moving process clearly, answered all of my questions in detail. After further research into options, I decided to choose ATM. I called to arrange my move and was told that the information I had received regarding the shipment process and the quote was incorrect and the person I had spoken to had been fired. I still decided to stick with it as he said he would honor the quoted price. However as I was asking questions to understand the shipping process, given I was told incorrect information previously, he could not give me a clear answer on anything. I couldn't even get through my questions regarding estimated shipping times, recommendation of pick up time, the pathway of my items (any loading/unloading or time in storage, ect) because he was rude, would not allow me to finish asking my questions, and kept cutting me off as I was speaking. He identified himself as the operations manager. If I couldn't even get through a simple conversation to understand how my belongings would be handled from the operations manager, then there was no way I was going to choose this company. They should've kept the fired guy, he was much more professional than who I spoke to. read more
