This company gets a 0. They are EXTORTIONISTS and SCAMMERS!! I first inquired about shipping rates through email. I received a call back from who I believe is the owner or manager over the phone he asked me to send pictures which I did. i explained I need this transaction to be no more than $1000.00 and I was assured by him it wouldn't be more than $1500. I explained that if we needed to remove some items to keep the cost low we would be willing to do so. Knowing my budget was of great concern he explained once he had eyes on the items at the storage facility he would give a more accurate price quote. He then told that There was a shipment going out in two days and he would like to have my items on that ship. My initial response was that is such short notice I don't think I can do that. His response was he would give me a 10% discount if I were to make that shipping date. I then agreed to have my items ready for pick up on that Sunday Sept. 14th (we were on the call that Friday evening Sept. 12th). I was able to scramble and arrange to have my items ready for this two day notice pickup. They came to pick up the items however the representative was not there to confirm the cost as I did not receive a call from him as he promised. He purposely was not there so he did not want to give me a price. If he had quoted me $2869 of course I would have said NO and went with a different company. He waited till they had my items in their possession. This is when all the foolishness took place. I received a call on Monday from the office stating that my invoice was ready and they had sent pictures of the items wrapped up on pallets. To my utter disbelief the invoice was $2869. I told the woman on the phone That is not what we spoke about on the phone, your rep. said it would be no more than $1500. She said no and that if I wanted I could pay the rest in two weeks. I told her I don't have that all I have is $1500 and she said she would take that payment. I didn't understand what was happening so I reluctantly agreed. This company is trying to extort me by holding the items and demanding more money than what was originally discussed. I was taken advantage of me they knew I had a budget but still tried to squeeze money out of me. They are current holding my items hostage at the shipping yard in Jamaica 10/8. read more

I have used Caribbean Cargo two times in the past to ship a barrel to Nevis, WI. The office personnel were courteous and very professional. They were patient in answering my questions, and responded to me in a manner that tells me that they wanted and appreciate my business. My barrel was delivered in good shape and on time both times. I used the pick up from my home option. The staff showed up on time and was very courteous, helpful and respectful, all the while still demonstrating that they appreciated my business. Because of my previous experience with CC, I decided to use them again While there was a glitch in the pick up time of my barrel, this third time, which threatened the delivery time of my barrel, CC in the person of Mr Royston, stepped in and did whatever was needed for someone to come to my house to pick up the barrel even though I was not officially on the pick up schedule. He assured me that himself or someone from the pick up team will call me to pick up my barrel. For some reason, I was not skeptical, because again, the tone and the manner in which Mr Royston spoke to me, told me that CC wanted and appreciated my business. The drivers came, and even though, it was a last minute addition to their schedule, they were very professional and courteous. They showed no sign of dissatisfaction that they had to adjust their route. Again, CC showed me that they wanted and appreciated my business! I have never had such bad customer service from every aspect of a company. I was given a invoice and told these are my fees to be then charged over $138 in fees on top of the shipping fee. These people charge a fee to lift your shipment into the transporting, another to transport it from one location to their office, another fee for putting it on a palette, another fee for the palette and taping the container with tape... then on my 3rd invoice the rep charged me another handling fee and recharged me for fees I already paid or changed my invoice that was already paid... oh and add 600 pounds unto my cargo making it seem like I am shipping vehicle parts( 1500 lbs and 684 kg for 3 container of food products) Ridiculous::: Needless to say for Stay Away. read more

Ms. Johanna at the office is an asset to this company. Her replies to emails with information, costs, etc., are always prompt, eloquent and detailed. I never get replies if I leave messages on the company phone or through your website but communicating directly with Johanna by emails has been the best business experience for me. Update to my June post. This may be a good place for other islands in the Caribbean but not a good place to ship items to Haiti. Beware that you will be paying more than the items you ship cost. After paying this company, I then had to pay the receiving company a $50 fee just for documents. Then had to pay another $250 to clear customs. That is a total of $500 dollars to ship and receive a barrel and overflow box that contained no electronics. The staff is wonderful and people from other islands may have a better experience but if shipping to Haiti beware. read more

CCDC is the WORST shipping agency I've ever done business with. I used them twice with the h same issue and more. 1st and 2nd time they left off one if the name that the barrels were addressed to, I had to use a Justice of the Peace(JP) to receive my barrels from the arrival agency. Second time same issue, in addition to that my barrels were picked up together in October 2022(the last week of), I received it in November 2022(last week of), they lied about the arrival dates, the receiving agency confirmed this. CCDC had separated my two barrels so both arrived months after each other. The second barrel arrived on January 25th 2022, I was told by CCDC that it arrived on December 13th, their receiving agency contradicted their statement and it did not arrived on DEC 13th. I called so many times to get an explanation from CCDC about my issues, I was promised by a manager, that I would get a call back with results as to why my barrels were separated, why the name was left off the invoice, who was gonna cover the accumulated costs for the separation of the barrels, etc. I was disrespected by an employee, I was even hang upon twice, and told it made no sense to call the office asking about the issues I had. Up to date I've yet to receive a call back from CCDC for anything, anything at all. I would never ever recommend anyone to ship with CCDC. Never again! I'm only giving one star because I have to give one to post, but in reality it's a NEGATIVE for me! read more

An update to my last post. Poor service. CCDC promised to give me a call back or email on Tuesday October 24. As of October 26 no response from anyone. As we speak I am currently on hold "internationally" for the past 30 minutes trying to speak to someone in management regarding my concerns and issues still nothing. For the second time I am been told to provide my contact information and name and they will return my call. Nothing. CCDC does not value their customers if this is the way they do business. Again I stress three consecutive shipments from CCDC and delivery is never on time. They always use the excuse about wether mind you others who have shipped from Florida and or NYC after my shipment have received their shipment no wether issues. So their claim of weather is false. If you are reading this and wish to have shipments to the Caribbean and live in the DMV drive to NYC. Or fly to Miami. There are also companies from NYC who will pick up your merchandise from your home. You pay for the quality of service you receive. Trust me CCDC is not cheap either but the quality of service is horrible. read more

In fact, CCDC provided valuable concession rate for a worthy cause! Now, this time again with a personal consolidated 20-foot container of household items shipped to Dominica, I had no issues. From day 1 in the consolidation process both management and CCDC staffs communicated with me all the way until I cleared my shipment in Dominica. I value the communication in business! All my articles arrived in the condition that I sent them. The transaction was affordable. Management worked with me with flexibility, transparency, and honesty. I have used Caribbean Cargo twice. Terrible Both Times! First, I shipped a barrel to Jamaica in November. It took twice as long as another company for the barrel to arrive. Didn't arrive (or was not available for pick up) until about Christmas Eve. Next, I used them to ship a desk, chair, and file cabinet in mid-May. It arrived June 24th. That is a long time. Not only did it arrive so late in the month, no one from Caribbean Cargo followed up with me regarding the arrival. Although they claim that the freight place in Jamaica was calling the recipient, it would seem to me that when you could not reach the recipient, Caribbean Cargo would have circled back to me (the sender) as a courtesy or as a professional follow up. After, I heard nothing from the freight place or Caribbean Cargo, I sent an email to Caribbean Cargo. They took days to get back to me telling me that the freight place would call me. I finally I to call Caribbean Cargo directly to get answers.... They had no answers and promised to call me back after speaking with United Freight. Did Caribbean Cargo call me back? NO. Now, I am being told that I may have to pay for storage because the shipment arrived on June 24th. I am disgusted. I am glad that I no longer live in DC and therefore do not have to use Caribbean Cargo anymore. read more
