Nonetheless, this shifted everything about 40 minutes behind schedule and they still were able to complete the job. The guys were apologetic and I got my furniture. Would i come back for service? Yes. But likely leave more wiggle room for the time.

They were hired for 3 hours to load and unload my moving truck. First of all, they were 2 and a half hours late getting to my apartment with no call stating they would be late. When they arrived, the truck was almost all the way loaded thanks to my 2 sons so there wasn't much left for them to load. They were very slow workers. It took them the full 3 hours to finish loading and unloading the truck at my new apartment. This left no time for them to reassemble my furniture that they disassembled to load onto the truck. They would have charged me an additional $160 for another hour of work just to reassemble my furniture. I was disappointed with this company. I expected more from the highest rated company.

This was definitely a tough move as we moved from a studio to a 4-story row home, however, they charged me about 3x more than what they originally quoted me for without giving me any forewarning. On top of that, they damaged multiple items (flat screen TV which no. longer works, dressers, room divider, lamp, shoe rack, wood floors, walls). I should have known better when they didn't even bring a dolly or straps to move our heavy items. They stopped responding to my text messages once they were paid. They are VERY quick to call you with a low quote and just as quick to not refund you. They seem kind but are not professionals.

The delivery driver had 7 pages of exceptions, items which he inspected prior to loading on his truck that were damaged. He said 2 pages was normal. Boxes were crushed and punctured. Furniture was broken and scratched. When we got the claim response they offered $172 after our $500 deductible and claimed that since we did the packing it was our fault. I worked at a moving company as a summer job so it's not like I haven't seen things done the right way. It doesn't matter how you pack a box if it is crushed and punctured....oh and it had glass written on two sides of the box. Stay away.

We had a lot going on so we needed a company that could completely pack and move us with as little hassle as possible. They came to our old place and reviewed and inventoried every item. We have a lot of art and a particularly unique glass table. They gave us a quote that was significantly higher than any of the other movers, but we chose them for several reasons. 1. The actually came out to understand what they were moving 2. They explained how they would handle the art and glass table 3. They stated that all their workers we salaried employees with no day laborers 4. It turned out that the guy who came out had gone to school with my daughter so we made a nice connection The day before the move they came out and did all the packing. We were impressed by the efficiency of the team, their speed and their unity. The day of the move they showed up on time and got to work. Again very efficient and effective. They packed everything in about 3 hours. We we got to the new place they again were super efficient. Even though I paid a ton of money, I ended up giving each mover a $20 tip. According to them, although they are employed by the company they don't get a ton of benefits and they wish they got higher wages. Still the fact that most of them had been with the company several years and that the got along well tells me they were being treated well. As we unpack we are finding out just how much paper they used to pack everything. This meant that nothing broke, but it also means I have a landfill worth of paper to throw away (recycle). Bottom line was that it was a great experience. The reason I did not give them the 5 stars is cost. Ultimately I don't regret it and will definitely come back to them for any future moves, but hopefully I will be able to negotiate a little better in the future.

The team was polite and friendly…read more Unfortunately- there was confusion on the date selected, I changed it once over the phone but was also given the ok to change it via the calendar but that did not go well. Day of the move the team was late and I didn't receive communication. It also took 10 hours to move a 3 bedroom 2200 sq house to a 1600 sq foot townhome and we had to leave a number of items in the original home that I had to go back to retrieve on my own. I asked for patio furniture and a grill to be added day of (1 table, 6 stackable chairs, 2 wicker chairs with ottoman's) and am unsure if this contributed to the increased time of the move (the estimate I was given was for 7 hours). I was told dismantling the beds could be easily handled by the team, I mentioned I could handle them but didn't get to it in time so they dismantled them but then the screws were lost to one bed and they refused to put the other two children's beds together (citing liability which I was not informed of). I was left with multiple broken items (the leg and attachment of my dresser completely broke off, both my children's dresser legs were broken, there was a hefty chip on a buffet table, a plastic storage bin was broken, and my suede ottoman was covered in water after being placed near patio furniture. Freshly painted walls are now scuffed and several doorframes have dents/dings following completion of the move. It has been several weeks- I contacted the owner with photos of my broken items and was immediately told he would be happy to fix/replace things and asked for item numbers which I provided. Since then- nothing has been done and I assume nothing by will be done.

Hiring a moving company is always a daunting task and having moved multiple times within 10 years,…read moremore often than not it's turned out to be a nightmare. FINALLY with our most recent move, I now know who to go to. Travelstead Transportation Group was an amazing choice and I highly recommend it to anyone that has the opportunity to choose a moving company. Starting with the coordinating over the phone, they were very professional with getting an estimate and scheduling a walkthrough to take a survey. Once we landed on a quote, the moving process was super seamless. The team showed up early and were ready to get started. Super professional and no surprises as they were very communicative with what they were doing, timelines, etc. They were even able to cut down some costs from the quote based on how they were able to consolidate some packing/supplies to not use as much (but without compromising safety of goods). After everything was said and done (finished with more than an hour to spare from the original quote), there were no damages and they assembled everything that they took apart. Don't get me wrong, the price tag is a bit high but with moving companies, you get what you pay for. I'd gladly pay that amount again for the level of service that was provided. Will definitely consider hiring again (hopefully I don't have to move again in the near future).

Both times I had a phenomenal experience. Robin, the owner, personally responded to all of my concerns. Because she runs the business herself, she was able to adapt her services to my individual needs - for example, I requested that her company move my clothing while they were still on their hangers, or that one of my rooms be set up the same way as it originally was. Such details may seem small, but they make a HUGE difference when dealing with the stress of moving. Both times I moved, Robin was present and assisting with the move along with her team. They get the job done quickly and efficiently, and they made sure that I was happy with everything before they left. I was so, so appreciative that I was able to request that they perform a couple of extra jobs that made my life so much easier, like anchoring a cabinet to the wall and moving my shower curtain. Whether you're anxious about moving, a control freak, or want to be 100% hands-off in the move, I can't recommend Berkley's Cleaning and Hauling more.
