That was a big mistake. This time I went right to Doyle. You get what you pay for, my friends. Ryan, the owner, was very responsive and we made an appointment to do a video walk-through of our condo. We did the walk-through, he asked a lot of questions and then he promptly sent an estimate. We have a lot of things so it took five guys and two trucks. The crew leader contacted me the day before to confirm the details and they showed up promptly the day of. They were incredibly friendly, fun, and energetic the entire time. And very polite. They treated all of our things very well and didn't have a problem moving any of the weird odds and ends we couldn't find a way to pack. When we arrived they put everything in the new house where we wanted it and even though we could tell they were suffering from the extreme heat and the weight and amount of our things, they never lagged or complained. They put the beds back together quickly and correctly as well as the dining room table. I'd be in hospital if I had to move all my stuff. But the cube does hold a lot more that you think -- if you know how to pack properly. Drop off and pick up were both super easy. The dispatch centers are very responsive and pleasant to talk to. Their travel time estimation was pretty accurate. My belongings arrived as I packed it, some had damage which was entirely MY fault -- I should have wrapped absolutely everything. Long story short, great service, great company to work with, fast/quick responses, and affordable (in my opinion). The cost of this was less than half what it would've cost me to move that far with a full service moving company (they pack the truck and drive for you) and half the cost of PODS although I believe the PODS company has different size cubes.

When they arrived they walked the path, making sure they knew their surroundings. It took 4 people at the store to load the treadmill, but only took 2 movers from Venable to handle the treadmill. After doing a lot of research on local moving companies I decided on this one because of the highly rated reviews. I moved from a one bed apartment to another one a few blocks away. A few days before my move, I called the company and spoke to the owner, who clarified all the questions I had. I felt great going into this move, especially after being informed that the movers will take apart and put back together any furniture. The morning of my move, 30 minutes before they were supposed to arrive at 8 am, I get a call saying that my move will be pushed to the afternoon. Why? Because they don't own their own moving trucks, and the one that they rented for my move was not available that day. Because of that, they added an additional mover to my move without charging me extra, which I appreciate. I was told they would be showing up around 1-2. They show up at 3:45 pm. I showed them what I needed to move. They tell me it's all good and they'll meet me at the new place. They unloaded everything within a few hours and all in all it took five hours. Not bad. They didn't have any tools on hand unfortunately which made things difficult for them. Here's what bothers me: there are many items that are totally damaged or missing. My couch was wrapped in cellophane but they missed a very important part, and now that area is scratched up and blackened from the dirt on the inside of the moving van. I have lampshades missing, and when I went back to the old apartment to clean, I see that they left a bunch of other things that I asked they bring. My bed was also not put back together, which I had to do at 9 pm after they had left. My dresser was not put back together, which is a two person job in itself. They ripped off the metal weather strip on the exterior door of my new apartment, and completely scratched up the walls. It was not the professional, friendly experience that I was expecting given the price I paid and the way the owner described. I urge everyone to find another moving company because this one made a day that was supposed to be easy, very challenging and drawn out.
