Top Notch was indeed the tops! They were absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish. We had a tricky move in that we moved from big home in Baltimore to a couple storage units until our renovations were complete at the new home. And the new home is on an island not accessible by car! Top Notch handled it ALL!! The crew packed everything up in Baltimore to be kept safe and sound in storage through the winter. When our new home was move in ready the following May, they took care of the move from storage reassuring us there was no need for us to make the trek back down to Baltimore to "supervise". They assured us and took care of everything on that end for us. Then they coordinated with the barging service in Portland, Maine, drove the 10 hours north in 2 full trucks, and as tides demanded, boarded a 6:30am boat across Casco Bay for the hour-long boat ride in some Maine spring weather. They arrived with smiles on their faces and unloaded the 2 trucks in record time so they could make the barge off at the next high tide. ***scam alert*** stealing from customers do not hire!!!!!! i counted all my boxes and noticed their were only nine when their were supposed be 10! i also had several boxes labeled fragile where i had broken vases and broken ceramic items in my kitchen set. i then started to feel extremely panicked- my jewelry, wigs organizers influencer boxes , hair irons , makeup , expensive perfumes all stolen !!!! then try to offer $66!!! scammers!!!! dont hire them!!!!!i am now in the process of filing a police report and taking legal action. you've been warned !!!! read more

Awful experience. Broke our coffee table and lost our suitcase. Their estimate was $1500 under what we were billed and paid. We were promised coolers the day of our move to move the contents of our fridge and freezer and on the day of the move the crew had no idea what we were talking about and we had to throw away food. Contacted them several times and we were told we would be paid back the overages we were charged. No further response from the company and no payment received. read more

I found Top Notch from the website. They seemed to be very highly rated by the local community people. Jim, the owner came out for an estimate, which was not too far from other quotes we got. However, we had some specific request and he was very accommodating. We had a bunch of furniture which need to be disassembled and assembled back. An initial quote was 4 movers for 6-7hours. While they were working, additional movers showed up to help. We ended up finishing sooner than a quoted time and were charged less. At the end, they told me that they would come back if we need to move some furniture again. I would highly recommend these without any hesitation. read more

We moved from MD to FL and I spent some time researching moving companies. Top Notch had good reviews so I contacted them. I was nervous about getting my stuff I moved as I'd read horror stories from people who moved. But I had fabulous service from initial contact to delivery. Jim was very helpful in working with me to minimize the cost. Dena in the office was pleasant and helpful every time I called. And the guys who packed the truck were great. I was amazed at the skill of Barry in packing the truck and getting all my stuff on it. Matt and Nick delivered my stuff and were fast and efficient in unpacking the truck and arranging our furniture. I highly recommend this company. I would use them again. I have to say, they did fit us in to their schedule at the last minute and they didn't damage our stuff. Even though we sent them a list (with dimensions) and pictures, Dena didn't know what we were moving. She was also rude to my wife on the phone. The start time was supposed to be 3:30, I understand like a doctors office schedules slip. My problem is with the time they charged me. So if you use them document times and have them sign it. See below what I emailed Dena, her reply was "Call Jim". Jim should have called me. Dena, I do not understand Jim's math. The crew arrived at 3:50 at the pickup place. I got to the drop-off place at 4:40, they got there at 5:00, The crew departed the drop-off place at 5:20 They told me the estimated travel time back was 1/2 hour making it 5:50 3:50 to 5:50 is 2 hours, last time I checked Jim told them to charge us 2 & 1/2 hours. Top Notch Moving. We moved our 90 year-old mother from Baltimore to Phoenix. She has a collection of delicate knick-knacks and a large amount of artwork that gave us concern. From the beginning--from getting an estimate for the move, to packing and loading, through the end-delivery at the final destination--everything went better than we could have hoped for. We chose Top Notch in part because they were reasonably priced (although not the cheapest), but mostly because the estimator, who we later learned was the president of the company, inspired the greatest confidence in us. He immediately recognized the valuable collectibles and showed an understanding of what needed to be done. We had 3 crews doing the work--one for the packing, one for the load out, and one for the load in. Every crew member worked hard, was friendly and courteous, and was very solicitous of our mother. They were prompt and efficient. Dan, an employee on all 3 crews, deserves special mention. We can't sing his praises enough. Top Notch should be proud to have him as an employee. Top Notch did an amazing job of moving us from Maryland to Delaware. They had 4 guys to load up and 3 guys to unload at the new house. They carefully packed up any large open items that were left out into boxes and unloaded them from the boxes upon arrival. All furniture was carefully dismantled and put back together. I have moved many places over the years. Always, my furniture gets damaged by irresponsible movers, but this time, it got worse. Priceless furniture items were permanently damaged, and in some cases, beyond repair. Glass was scratched; wood was chipped; items were lost. I would be very careful when moving with this specific company, and possibly even move precious items that will inevitably get broken yourselves. read more
