My movers Chris and Jevonye were very personable and polite and really tried to do the best they could. My low rating is not because of them but the handling of the move by the owner. I hired Mid Atlantic movers for a move from a 1 bedroom apartment to another apartment building within eyesight across the street. They arrived 2 hours late. I received no call or status update. I had to call the company to get an update on where my movers were. It then took 5 hours total for my move. I was quoted $300 for a 2 hour move and then had to pay for the additional 3 hours it took them to complete the move. Thankfully no one was scheduled to use the loading docks or service elevators after me. Orlando was really responsive to my questions and request for a quote through Yelp beforehand; however, my move day was very difficult and way more expensive than expected or quoted. read more

Orlando and his team were great to work with. Orlando was very responsive through Yelp messaging to all my concerns and he did his research prior to arriving to my house to gauge how much stuff I may have by looking up my address on the realtor websites for photos to see the stuff to be moved. I had to do a house move and downsize and go to two different addresses, which he was able to accommodate and organize his truck so that it was efficient. The move took about 5 hours, but the team did great by taking care of my stuff and wrapping it up and protecting it to ensure it was not damaged - and I can truly say nothing was damaged. These were the worst movers I have ever used. I have a 1bdr apartment. I moved 5 mins away from apartment 1 to apartment 2. In both apartments, I am next to an elevator. I was charged $600 total to include packing supplies and 100 arrival fee. Of which, they arrived an entire 1 hour and 10 mins away. I have moved on several occasions with 2 movers and 1 truck and max time was 3 hours after traveling more than 5 mins between places. Save your time and use someone else. read more

We hired the movers for a local move. Initially, we were happily surprised with their promptness and Orlando's friendliness. During the move things changed, they were careless with my furniture, which led to extensive damage to multiple expensive pieces of furniture. When I tried to contact Orlando to obtain some sort of resolution, he took several weeks to get back, and when he did get back he kept saying give him some time. I am still yet to receive any sort of resolution despite them claiming to have insurance. I now have several thousands of dollars of damage to my furniture and no way forward to get it fixed. Despite feeling positive initially, it was ultimately a bad value. Things could have been different had they responded and held themselves accountable for the damage they did to my furniture. read more

I recently moved using Mid Atlantic. I have pros and cons of my experience. Pros: *The guys work fast *Very responsive *Very Organized *Friendly *Competitive Rate Cons: *I was charged an additional $70 for a seal wrap that wasn't requested by me and not communicated ahead. I was advised ahead that the furniture material was included in the rate. *The movers showed up 30-40 mins later than start time. * A few items got minor damages, which I saw as I was putting my stuff together. I would rate them fair. But not sure if I would use or recommend again based on the few negatives. read more

Positives: They showed up in masks, and are polite and seem professional. They got the job done, although the time it took more than doubled (they charge by the hour). Negatives: 1. They were unprepared for moving our piano even though we told them ahead of time. They brought a truck without the ramp so loading and unloading the truck took a lot of time. 2. The wrapping and unwrapping took a lot of time, but they don't seem to be gentle enough to not break some furniture. 3. The pricing was not clearly communicated. They added one more person and increased the hourly rate to move the piano, but then also charge additional fee for moving it. The end result is that we paid twice as much as what we expected, and some furniture got damaged. read more

Highly recommend! Moving is always stressful and on top of that I had a a mix up with the first moving company I had set up, I came onto Yelp and messaged Mod-Atlantic Movers and amazingly Orlando was able to fit me in for the very next day. When they showed they were all in masks and quickly began moving my things, they took great care of all of my belongings and worked quickly. Once we arrived to my home in the city, they parked one vehicle at the end of the alley so it would limit traffic getting stuck behind the moving truck- my neighbors thanked me for this the next day. Once again they all worked quickly to offload my things. They asked questions about where the boxes were going and if there was question about something they made sure to ask. I also have a rooftop deck and they were amazing and hoisted my furniture onto it. I would 100% use this company again. read more

First the good: Orlando and his movers arrived on time, were really nice, wrapped up everything tight, and stayed until the job was done, even bringing in a couple more guys to speed things up. The bad: They damaged my brand new wood floors pretty bad (even have drag marks where they slid furniture rather than lift it) as well as chipped a wall, a deck post, and a few pieces of furniture. At first, Orlando was responsive and acted like he was going to repair everything, but then he just stopped responding. I hate to leave a bad review but my brand new floors look terrible. Where to begin on how horrible this moving company was. We hired them to move drywall from the driveway to the basement. 3 pallet boards of drywall. We were quoted $80 an hr with a show fee of $100 and was quoted 3hrs for the job. These guys were suppose to be at the house at 10am. Didn't arrive til close to 1030. Then it took them almost 7 hrs to get the job done. The two guys were moving slower than molasses. Once the job was done, the price was given and it was unreal. 4% charge to use a credit card so luckily we were able to use cash. But they weren't even going to Mark the job as paid in full in cash. We had to demand a receipt and then took a picture as proof. The dishonestly of the job was mind blowing Please do not use this company. Ever. read more

Mid-Atlantic Movers asked appropriate questions and provided a sound estimate, much lower than competitors. On move day, Orlando and his team showed up fully prepared and on-time. They practiced appropriate COVID-19 precautions; wearing facemasks, maintaining distancing, and offering no-touch payment options. Further, their truck was amply stocked with rollers, blankets, and straps necessary to ensure solid storage and protection of all our household goods. They moved and packed with a purpose; quickly but carefully. They began with the large pieces of furniture, carefully placing smaller items in protected nooks offering stability to the entire load. They took time to wrap mattresses with plastic; then covering TVs and breakable items with blankets and tape. They did so in parallel with other ongoing moving efforts, so there were teammates continually working without pause (saving me - the consumer, time and $$$). Upon arrival, they moved all times in...placed each where directed and even assisted in the assembly of larger items (beds and tables). No scratches on walls or floors, no observable damage to furniture...all-around efficient and focused. The team was polite; but mostly quiet and focused. I felt these young men were respectful; an important factor, because the primary client was my daughter who recently graduated college and had to manage the unpacking herself, left alone with the Mid-Atlantic team who treated her with the utmost respect. I had arranged for my things to be picked up the 27th of Dec with full assurance from the Liaison who "would be there every step of the way". The time wasn't determined for pickup until the 26th, so I had no idea what time I would be leaving cross-country after they came. They arrived and when I expressed slight frustration at the idea of being up charged for several nuanced things , and the dispatcher threatened to leave saying "no drama, we're leaving". Paid way more than expected and they were on their way. Fast forward 3 weeks, my items still hadn't arrived in Texas. I emailed my liaison and called her multiple times to get a time reference, and she never responded. I ended up calling the dispatcher who said the truck hadn't left yet, but to expect it "sometime next week". This is now 4 weeks without furniture/clothing etc. The truck finally leaves, and I get a text saying it would arrive Monday morning. I took off work in order to receive the truck. Waited around, texted for an update it was now 3. Waited around, texted for an update it was now after 6. -Two men showed up and offloaded everything very quickly - pro. -Everything that had to be repacked was broken. - con -I ended up paying about $1000 more than expected, and took some losses on furniture / paintings. - con It would have been easier and way cheaper to hire people to load/unload and drive the truck myself. read more

This is A briker not a moving company. They present themselves as movers though they pass off your quite to another company which you find out about the day of the move. Their quotes. Are off base and there are so many extra fees. they say that moving padding is free but charged hundreds of dollars for wrap and tape. This was a one bedroom move. I asked off the bat if they had Insurance and was assured they did. Fast forward a few weeks and I ask them to provide a COA to our apartment and find out the insurance lapses a week before our move. And had another terrific experience - Orlando was right on time, protected the furniture well so it all arrived in the same condition it left the seller - and he even arranged the furniture better than what I'd had planned, on the second floor and in the basement (so many stairs!).
