Maxon Movers are careful, efficient polite movers with the best price. They moved some large pieces that were very difficult to fit through turns but they made it happen. Max knows how to pack his truck so that everything fit snug and nothing broken or scratched. Scheduler was easy to talk to and set a date/ time. read more

I hired Maxon Movers to help move from Maryland to Boston MA back in 2017. They made such an impression that I've sent a few referrals over since then and always felt compelled to write a review! Firstly Iryna was amazing and with a more complicated out of state move she was able to provide me comfort and I felt more prepared to move. The guys were amazing, everything made it without any breakage, and they provided me updates throughout the move. You're in good hands with this group! read more

I reached out to Maxon Movers based on a friend's recommendation. After an email exchange with Iryna, I was able to secure their services. They were extremely responsive and followed instructions to a tee. During the day of the move, they arrived early and were quickly able to pack up our items and load them up without many issues. Max was informative about the additional cost that would be required before we incurred them (such as furniture wrapping). Max, Iryna, and the team were a great assistance to us. I recommend their services and their team. read more

Iryna was very helpful with scheduling and keeping in touch and I agree that Max and his team were fantastic and very professional. I was set for 2PM move out, but they came early in my case as well (also no problem with me). They moved me out faster than I could finish packing and we were on the road in less than two hours (after they helped me finish packing). They moved me from Maryland to Virginia and were done before the time they allotted. I paid cash and they gave me a 10% discount! I have nice furniture I care about and protective glass tops and the movers did not scratch anything and disassembled and reassembled everything with care. They are very affordable, highly recommended, fast, respectful and I am now using them for a second move to DC. I recommend them highly as well! Thanks so much, Maxon! read more

I used Maxon for my local move and this is how it went down: 1) I checked out their rates on hireahelper.com and they were reasonable, but hireahelper required pre-payment, so I did some more research. 2) I called them and spoke to a nice lady (Irina) who gave me a quote over the phone (2 hour minimum, $75 per hour for 2 guys), and $75 per hour after the 2 hour minimum, billed in 0.5 hour increments. Also, $75 flat rate for a 24' moving van. (hire-a-helper rates were cheaper for additional hours, but 3 hour minimum, and much higher hourly rate for the van) 3) Moving day arrives! We had boxed everything, but they wrapped the furniture for us using these quilted pad things. I would recommend getting a bag from U-haul for your mattress ahead of time. 4) They were on time, but there was some douche blocking the loading dock of my apartment building, and they did NOT charge us for the 30 minutes it took to move said douche out of the driveway. 5) There was no loading dock or designated parking spot at the other end. The driver backed the truck into a very narrow tandem spot (I could have never done that with a U-haul). 6) We were moving to the 2nd story of a walkup. No extra charge for the stairs. Also, we lived on the 16th floor of a large apartment building. The only extra charge was $3 per roll of tape and they used 3 rolls of tape to hold the mattress pads to the furniture. 7) They didn't damage a thing, and finished in 4 hours. The best $384 (4x$75 + $75 for the truck + $9 tape) I ever spent in my life. Btw, just to give you an idea, we had: A giant 6'x6' bookshelf (weighs about 300 pounds) A smaller bookshelf 2 giant dressers (think 8 drawers each and as tall as me) 1 desk 2 couches 1 mattress 1 box spring 2 office chairs 4 side tables 1 coffee table A giant TV A TV cart ... and .... ~15 large (4.5 cu ft) boxes ~20 small (1.5 cu ft) boxes The small boxes were all books too. Don't ask why I have so many, I don't know. But they were heavy as all heck. And I didn't have to move a single thing! I've already recommended them to all of my friends, and I would definitely book directly because the rate seems to be better if you need the truck. read more

Arrived right on time for my move! I used them to move an 830 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment about 3 miles away to a 2-story townhouse. I chose them because of the great reviews on Yelp and their prices being lower than the other companies I received quotes from. A couple tips for you future clients though: 1) Buy a pack of tape from Walmart or something ahead of your move for these guys to use because it's $5 per roll of their tape and they used A LOT of tape (7 rolls!). 2) We went 1.5 hours over the estimated move time and I had already moved quite a few things myself, so I would definitely recommend you take apart everything you can think of ahead of time (tables, bookshelves...they even took the sofa covers off.) I'm not sure what else I could have done to speed things up. In short, all my interactions with Maxon Movers were very professional and friendly! I felt comfortable with them and it was a pleasant experience. read more

We have used Maxon Movers twice now and have been extremely pleased both times. Their services are efficient and competitively priced. Maxim and his moving partner make moving easy! The first time were just used their moving services (AKA manual labor for unloading boxes). The second time were used their truck, which was even easier. They loaded the truck, drove to our new place, and unloaded everything within 3 hours. I literally just pointed to which room I wanted to boxes unloaded. Iryna is also very responsive and make scheduling easy. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Thank you for making moving so much better! read more

Maxon is the best. Twice they've moved me in the Annapolis area and twice the service has been excellent. Anyone who has moved knows that plans fail early and often. The worth of a moving company is in how they handle those failures. Maxon has consistently been able to pull victory from the jaws of defeat no matter how time consuming or annoying the moving difficulties. I trust these guys with my stuff and will definitely use them again the next time I move. read more

Hired Maxon Movers to do our local move. Excellent service! Quick, efficient and priced well. I had already packed the personal stuff (pictures, clothes, some kitchen) and Maxim and his silent partner (friendly but didn't talk) came in and finished the rest! Loaded and unloaded in less than 4 hours. Plus, they disassembled and reassembled our king size bed frame with ease. Not planning on moving for a while but when I do, I will be contacting them again. read more

They were fantastic and very professional. I was set for 9AM move out, but they came early--which was no problem with me. They moved us out within the hour and we were already on the road before the two hours was up. All I can say is: affordable, highly recommended, fast, respectful and I will use them again. Totally referred. Thanks guys! read more

They did my move in Jan. 2015. It was the same amount of stuff they had moved a year sooner, but it cost more than double. Maybe it was because I had a lot of boxes, and the guys moved them in ONE AT A TIME. Hello, there's an invention called a hand truck, that allows for moving multiple boxes at once. I had colored tape with the rooms on it that they completely ignored, instead just placing the boxes at random within the house. Maybe they can't read English. If it were possible to buy that tape printed in Spanish and Russian, I would, but it doesn't exist. AND, as a cherry on the top of a bad move sundae, one of their movers groped me during the move. It was pretty deliberate, I'm positive it wasn't an accident. If you are a woman, you really don't want to deal with their guys. Fortunately, this was a move from a rental to a house I bought, so maybe I'll never have to move again. read more

Iryna was very kind; responded right away and continued to be accessible after hours. She sent the quote over immediately which was very reasonable for what was provided. The two movers that came arrived early; they were familiar with the building; were very polite; answered all of our questions; made suggestions and were very hard working. They set up our furniture and bed and position it where we wanted it to be. I will definitely be using Maxon again in the future and recommended them to friends and family! read more

Excellent service, prompt arrival and very hardworking crew. Took great care of my belongings and turned what would have been a weekend (or more) of hell into a five hour Tuesday job. Kudos to Iryna and Max for an excellent business and I hope this review brings them further success! read more

Maxon provided a great price and exceptional service. The movers showed up as scheduled. They were very professional and courteous. They made an otherwise stressful day smooth and painless. **make sure you have all items boxed and ready to go. Disassembling pieces of furniture ahead of time helps too. **like the other reviews said as well, buy a package of packing tape. Otherwise they'll charge you per roll to secure furniture pads. They moved my belongings from point A to point B with no damage incurred. Highly recommended. read more

Normally, my husband and I are DIY movers, but he has an injured shoulder (from our last move, actually) and we were moving into a 3-story townhouse and neither of our knees are in great shape. o_O We knew there was just no way for us to move ourselves without it costing a fortune in rotator cuff surgery, torn up furniture, and dinged-up walls in our new place! We got quotes from a number of movers in the DC metro area and Laurel (where we were moving from,) but we settled on Maxon because their rates were the most reasonable. Iryna sent us a quote in a very timely manner, and when my husband called to ask some questions, she was very pleasant and helpful. We put a $150 deposit down over the phone and got an invoice by email confirming all the details (and a very good price considering the effort we'd save not having to move ourselves.) The professionalism of it all gave us some peace of mind about our first time hiring movers. On moving day, our 2 movers showed up about 15 minutes early, which was fine by us! Their truck was more than big enough for our stuff. The guys were both very friendly, profession, and respectful, dressed neatly but ready to work, and they were also amazingly polite and funny! They were very quick but careful, and they took care to secure things that needed securing. They were also assertive, declining to move things that might break or make a mess (my outdoor plants, for instance), but also willing to make accommodations as necessary (a standup freezer that we've always moved without fully emptying it, for example.) They worked tirelessly and efficiently and there was not a single ding, scratch, accident or anything negative about the move. The final bill was almost a shock for how great of a value it was, even factoring the tip we gave our guys. (Be sure to tip your movers, especially if you've got a lot of stairs or tricky spaces/objects that they have to deal with.) All in all, it was the easiest moving day we've ever had, and we've moved maybe 7-8 times in the last 9 years? (Lost count by now.) If I had it to do over again, I would have probably kept the movers for an extra hour or so taking most of my boxes to wherever I needed them -- my knees are still complaining about my frugality. If wouldn't hesitate to recommend Maxon for anyone who needs movers. They did an excellent job and were an excellent value. read more

I have used Maxon Movers for my last three moves. They are quick, kind, and polite. They are professional and take great care of your belongings, and flexible problem solvers when things don't go as anticipated. I will always recommend them to anyone moving in the DC area! It is so great to know that I can rely on them when I'm moving read more

Great job. Great rate. Most important...the price quoted was what it cost. And all the people helping were really nice. Got screwed two others times. This was a nice change. read more

I had some initial problems in setting up the move, which I just made sure that it was all correct before booking with them. A minor issue. Also, the estimate was extremely optimistic, but I knew that going into it. On the day of the move, my movers were very professional and courteous. They took great care with our things and both places. They always brought things to our attention if they thought it might be a problem. There was no problem. They did a lot better than I could've ever done by myself. These guys were great. I would use them again. read more

I booked a move with Maxon Movers a few days ago for this Friday. After several emails back and forth with our address attached she informed me tonight that she couldn't work our move because it was in Virginia. Now I am out money to reserve an elevator in our apartment building or am forced to find a new mover last minute at a premium read more

I purchased a Living Social deal for Maxon Movers for $50 for $100 worth of moving services. I got a quote online and called to reserve the date I wanted to move. I was nervous because I had never hired movers before, but Iryna, who answered the phone put my mind at ease right away, as she was so friendly and helpful. On moving day, the movers showed up right on time, they were fast, friendly, and careful with my things. I really appreciated that they gave me a ride back into town so I could pick up my other car. Their rates were very reasonable and they made what is usually a dreadful, stressful day so easy and actually enjoyable! I highly, highly recommend them! read more

I recently used Maxon Movers for my local move and was very impressed with their services. From the time of booking until everything was unloaded into my new place, they were professional, friendly, and lived up to the other outstanding reviews on here. They were also very affordable! Better yet, they showed up 10 minutes early for the moving day! I went over my allotted time by a half hour and if I could do it again, I would have made sure everything was taken apart for them to save time. However, nothing was broken, scratched, or damaged. Thank you for a stress-free and smooth move Maxon Movers! read more

The customer service representative Irma wasn't helpful in providing an accurate estimate. She was rather short in detail while I'm trying to conduct a long distance move in providing an accurate estimate of my items in storage. She gave me an estimate of $5500-6000 without knowing what is in the storage. My recommendation is to provide the customers with accurate information before determining the final quote. I requested someone to come to the storage while I was in town so the items could be delivered as soon as possible. Bad customer service representative. Update Stated in my message I stated the items have been in storage for years therefore, I need someone from your company to give me an estimate. You decided to give me a quote instead of an appointment. I'm coordinating a big move so if I contacted this company like I did 2 others to get the best quote. You were the only company that was short your behavior was as if you didn't want to be bothered in basically customer service setting up an estimate quote. I'm in Florida, flying out next week to get my things delivered so don't insult me with your negative response saying I didn't want you all assistance. You have yet to understand how to give good customer service! I will have an excellent move thanks to the other professional companies who have responded professionally with my request. I recommend you brush up on your customer service skills. You really deserve no stars! read more

On a scale of 1 to 5, my experience with Maxon movers was a 6. This is a family business and it shows in every detail from the scheduling process through the thoughtful consideration in handling each piece of furniture. There is a pride in a job well done which reflects on this family in the most positive way. I was very worried about some extremely heavy but delicate family pieces and the owner was understanding and extremely considerate guiding me through the protection for each one. At the end of the move, set up was carefully and thoroughly done. After comparisons from other movers, I found Maxon to be a value economically as well. This is a great moving company. read more

We moved the weekend of March 22 and hired Maxon for our 32-mile move from the D.C. metro to the Baltimore metro. We had Max and his buddy for our move and they were nothing short of excellent. They arrived early and starting wrapping our furniture right away. They maintained professional, sincere, and helpful attitudes the entire time. It took over 5 hours and they don't fool around. All work, no play. Furniture was protected and unscathed. I hired Maxon because of their affordability compared to others in the area. If there's any mover worth every penny you spend, these are the guys. read more

Just used them for a local move. Guys were great, quick, and courteous. Would definitely use them again!

We used Maxon Movers to move from a storage unit to our new house and I couldn't be happier with the service. The movers were all very nice and efficient, we had a lot of stuff (3 storage units full) and they finished everything in under 8 hours! The quote I was given was accurate, there were no extra charges at the end that I was unaware of. Maxon gave us the best quote out of the 4 quotes we got. They were worth every penny! read more

Best experience EVER with a moving company! I had a bit of a difficult move as I started at a house in Glen Burnie, then had to stop at an apartment in Laurel, and then ended at my new apartment in Ellicott City. The 2 movers came early which was awesome, got done at the first house after under 20 minutes, and the second apartment was done in under 40! They set up my bed for me at my new place, and honestly they did not stop moving the entire time. Very hard working and I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you so much Maxon!!! read more

I had a very positive experience with this company. When I asked around for prices for labor/loading help, they had the cheapest price around of the reputable companies. They also honored the voucher when I mentioned yelp.com. The movers arrived on time; they were friendly and professional. They efficiently loaded my van and I was on my way in no time. They took very good care of my property. The only thing I wished was that they had called to confirm our appointment the day before or something to reassure me that they were indeed going to keep our appointment. read more

The movers were very professional. It took a total of 7 hours to move our 2 bedroom apartment, so slightly more expensive than I originally expected (original quote was for 4 hours). But they packed everything, down to the last pot, pan, salt shaker, etc., so that's why it took longer I guess. The only other issue was that there were a few ceramic cups/plates that were chipped. I would definitely recommend them. Just make sure you know exactly how many hours it will take to move in order to have the most accurate quote of the pricing. And make sure your fragile belongings are packed very well (like with bubble wrap, styrofoam, etc., instead of just paper). read more

We used Maxon movers for a local move and would recommend them without hesitation It was easy to schedule on line and Iryna was very patient with all of my questions and rescheduling. The movers showed up early which was a plus. Nothing was broken and everything made it safely. They even moved little stuff we forgot that wasn't packed. The hourly rate is a little higher but well worth it because there were no unexpected charges. Also, we took apart the crib and covered our mattresses and sofa's ahead of time ---this saved some time. To give you an idea we paid 635 for the move below: 2 couches (one was a sleeper sofa) , 3 overstuffed chairs. six chair dining set, buffet, stereo cabinet, tv stand, large ottoman, 4 small ottomans, 2 dressers, armoir, 2 mattresses, 1 box spring, crib, changing table, 2 rocking chairs, television, 4 lamps, wine stand, and too many boxes to count read more

Best moving company! I have used this company twice! Such a nice family- very flexible and easy to get in touch with. This company is so timely! I had a 3-place move from DC, to Rockville to Gaithersburg in 4 hours! The movers arrived exactly on time. All of my furniture and personal belongings arrived safely. My bill was exactly that was described to me and there's a discount if you can pay in cash. Very happy with Maxon Movers! read more

We used Maxon for our move within the Towson area a couple of weeks ago. I contacted a couple of other movers, but Maxon gave the lowest quote with the most services. They disassemble and reassemble furniture for free! On moving day, the movers showed up on time with a giant truck and two very strong guys. The movers nicely wrapped my antique dining room set and managed to get an assembled wardrobe up a tight stairway. None of our furniture was damaged in any way. Overall, they did a great job and I would use again for any future moves. read more

My husband and I hired Maxon Movers to move the larger/heavier items of our 2-bedroom apartment to another nearby apartment, less than 5 miles away. We have a piano, which costs extra, but the price was still very reasonable for the whole move. The two movers showed up a little early (15-20 minutes) and had the truck loaded within 30 minutes with our items. Since there would have been an extra charge to wrap our TV, the movers offered to help us load the TV into one of our cars to forego the extra cost, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, the movers were very friendly, careful with our items, and did their best to help us stay within the timeframe (finished early!) and within the quoted price. The 10% discount for paying cash instead of using a card was also a steal. We were so impressed with them that we used them again for a 2nd time to move two items from North Bethesda to Laurel with similarly excellent results. We have recommended them to others that are moving in the near future and would recommend them to anyone moving around the DMV area. read more

I was searching online for a reasonably priced moving company to move furniture from my 2 bed apartment to my new condo and stumbled across Maxon. The booking process was really easy and Iryna explained my options and a breakdown on how the move would go. The day of I received a call asking if the movers could come earlier in the afternoon then what was scheduled which was fine with me because that meant they would finish earlier. Basically when the movers came they got right to work moving boxes from each room and securely wrapping my furniture the 2-man crew worked through the rain to move my items from my second floor apartment to my third level condo. These guys were great and not a single item of mine was broken during the move. I would definitely recommend them. read more

We hired Maxon movers recently, and they did a fantastic job. They showed up on time and immediately got to work. I used Maxxon movers this past weekend and my move was SEAMLESS!! This is my second time having Max and his company move me, and I wouldn't use any other company. Max and his worker came early to our move, broke down our large furniture, and reassembled everything in our new home! They were very delicate with all of my fragile belongings, and were cautious in wrapping any glass or TVs. All of my stuff arrived to my new place in perfect condition.
