Background follows: I had some cherished family furniture that I needed to donate. After learning about Habitat for Humanity ReStore, I used their very efficient web site and scheduling system. It was easy to navigate, and it worked perfectly. I received follow-up emails and text messages for the pickup, where the donated furniture was going, and reassurance that the family furniture was going to the right place. Because the furniture was too big for me to move outside, and as Restore can't come into the house, Restore assigned the pick-up to Bulk Brothers. Bulk Brothers acknowledged the assignment, and began their own follow-up text messages, keeping me informed of the vehicle license plate that would do the pickup, driver, and time for pick up. This whole interaction, and follow-on actions by Restore and Bulk Brothers was easy and professional done!

The job did not start as planned due to uncontrollable circumstances. However, Miguel and Melvin stepped up and made it right. They were all getting the job done efficiently, safely, and correctly as soon as they arrived to the pick site. It was clear that they knew what they were doing and quickly squashed any concerns we had. They even went above and beyond by relocating another piece of furniture for us. The owner, Miguel Dominique, was unprofessional, rude, and came across as a fast talker. The movers arrived about an hour and a half late. What should have been a straightforward move from one three-bedroom apartment to another took around 7-8 hours with two movers and a rented U-Haul truck. After I had already paid the agreed-upon price in advance, I was told I owed an additional $500 because the move took longer than expected. I did not feel this was handled fairly or professionally. The most upsetting part was the damage to my property. My 65-inch TV was cracked, and my daughter's two work monitors were also damaged during the move. When I reported the damage, the company denied responsibility, claiming that I must have packed already-broken electronics because they were already boxed. At no point did anyone inspect or test the TV or monitors before moving them, yet they still accused me of giving them damaged items. When I raised my concerns, I was simply told everything was covered by the contract. However, no one sat down with me to explain the contract or point out any terms about TVs, monitors, or liability before the move. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, I felt like my concerns were dismissed. Overall, I felt pressured to pay more than the agreed price and left with damaged property and no resolution. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend M&M; Moving Company. If you choose to use them, I strongly encourage you to carefully review every part of the contract, document the condition of all of your belongings with photos and videos before the move, and be sure you understand all potential charges before signing.

This was definitely a tough move as we moved from a studio to a 4-story row home, however, they charged me about 3x more than what they originally quoted me for without giving me any forewarning. I should have known better when they didn't even bring a dolly or straps to move our heavy items. They stopped responding to my text messages once they were paid. The delivery driver had 7 pages of exceptions, items which he inspected prior to loading on his truck that were damaged. He said 2 pages was normal. Boxes were crushed and punctured. Furniture was broken and scratched. When we got the claim response they offered $172 after our $500 deductible and claimed that since we did the packing it was our fault. I worked at a moving company as a summer job so it's not like I haven't seen things done the right way. It doesn't matter how you pack a box if it is crushed and punctured....oh and it had glass written on two sides of the box. Stay away.

My husband and I were looking to get some help moving our furniture from our apartment into a new house. We started out only wanting a few key pieces moved, but as the day drew closer, and we realized how much stuff we had, we added a lot to our list. Mr. Harcum came out and gave us a very reasonable price to move all of our furniture. We'd had a pretty bad experience with our last movers, so we had some reservations. Mr. Harcum showed up with his crew right on time. They completed the move smoothly, and very professionally, in less time than we expected. After they were done, my husband asked if they performed any other services; landscaping, hauling, etc. they did. So, two weeks later, we had the crew back to do some work in our yard and haul some debris away. Once again, they exceeded our expectations . Our yard looks amazing! This required the doorway to be measured to make sure the unit would fit. I contacted Mr. Harcum who said he would send someone out to do the measurements. No one ever arrived. I then called him back the next day. No return phone call. The day after that I sent a text message and was promised that someone would be out that evening. Again no one showed up. I then got a call that the refrigerator was ready for pick-up and delivery but the measurements had not been done so the unit had not been ordered. I asked him once again to send someone to measure. This occurred one more time at which point I gave up. Mr. Harcum never returned my last phone call. I would not do business with this company as there customer service is not only poor, it's non-existent. They get ZERO stars.
