I booked an appointment online, and they arrived within two hours. Friendly, professional, folks who wore masks the whole time. I had a mattress and box spring, which wound up costing $150 to remove, but seems to be in line with other companies. read more

See my earlier rating and complaint. I sent them the information they requested about my experience, and I received the following acknowledgement on 9/14. Thank you for taking the time to submit a review regarding your recent service. We appreciate you getting back to us to confirm your appointment details so we can ensure this is looked into for you. We are sorry to hear that you did not have a 5-star experience with us and that our service did not meet your expectations in terms of cost. I have notified our local service manager about your concerns with the price and they will be in touch with you to discuss your issue. It is now 10/6, and I have not heard back from them. Beware of using them. read more

1-800-GOT-JUNK got me right, just in time for spring. Scheduling was a breeze, I had a coupon for savings and they let me know the estimated prices upfront. They gave me a window on when to expect them, they were punctual and professional. Ben and Andre were amazing. All I had to do was point to the items that I wanted removed and they hauled it all away. They were friendly and upbeat, which led to an excellent experience. I definitely would recommend their services. I have already used them twice. read more

The prices. There are much lower prices for the same amount of work. I'll never call them again.

Boy did I make a mistake. A crew arrived and I trusted them to do the right thing when I said I want to remove all the junk from my basement and garage. Three truck loads later, my basement and garage were empty - of everything. They took many many perfectly good items that no one would classify as "junk". Every time I look for a tool, it's gone. Try to iron a shirt, the iron is gone. Replace a battery, they are gone. And it cost me $5,000 for them to take my perfectly good things. I suspect they sold most of the things and made even more. If you ever want them to take junk; watch them closely. read more

Poor communication. I booked a same day pick up-online. I received a confirmation email. I sat by the window waiting for the entire 2 hour window. I called customer service once to confirm my telephone number and the rep said appointment was confirmed and they had the phone number. Ten minutes after the window expired, I called again and was told no one was coming, there must have been a scheduling mistake. I asked why no one called to tell me they weren't coming and was told, it was a scheduling mistake. Isn't anyone looking at the schedule? I wasted my time and am concerned it they know what they are doing. read more

Crew gave an estimate range but not final price until they had loaded the junk. Then they picked the highest price. Even their lowest price is extremely high! I am definitely suffering from buyer's remorse. Next time I will rent a truck and take things to the landfill myself! read more

Good business sense. I have had several successful task completions with them. They are rboth esponsive and reliable. Service experience was great. 2 guys came by and were really friendly and moved items quickly. The value? Questionable. I had a refriegerator in garage and with ikea disassembled small bed frame, cost me almost $500. Over the phone they quoted around $150 for refrigerator alone and when the guys pulled up the tablet, different story. Even without the extra items, it would've costed me around 400 based on the tablet quote. read more

I just took the first step at decluttering. My expectations for a company called 1-800 GOT JUNK were very low. I imagined a few sweaty guys dropping things, bumping into walls and just making a mess in my hallways, and on my rugs. The two fellows that showed up were extremely professional, got the job done in a very short period of time, were polite and exceeded my expectations. For the next decluttering, I will certainly use them. read more

This company is way too overpriced. Paid almost $600 to remove a few items. They also could've accommodate the items better for a lower price but they said they couldn't. I will never recommend our use this company. read more

Couldn't find a place on their website to leave a review. This company is great. Very friendly service and prompt pickup. Called when they were on the way. A good price for a small job. Friendly, courteous. I will definitely use this service again. Daryl and Quintin were the drivers - very nice. read more

The pluses are that they are fast efficient and have a lot of availability. The minus is they are super expensive. I recently moved out and had a lot of junk and needed to be removed from my old residence as soon as possible. Unfortunately most of the junk haulers that I researched did not have any availability until a week later. I really needed to get everything out this Friday morning so on a Thursday afternoon I could only find one 800 got junk to fill this request. I was given a timeframe of 8 AM to 10 AM. Around 8 AM I received a call that the truck was on its way and would be there in 30 minutes. I was at work so it was convenient that I did not have to be on site when they got there. Once on site they called and gave me a quote of $508. The items I had or a queen size mattress, box spring, frame, 3 contractors bags of old blankets, 3 old pallets and some loose pieces of wood. Since I was pressed for time I went with the price especially since I could pay over the phone without being there and did not have to take a day off of work. In the future I would schedule my pick up for a better time where I can do a little more research and find a cheaper price. Or I will rent a truck and do it myself for a fraction of the price that they charge. They were pretty getting everything loaded up in about 30 min. read more

Called Got Junk. Men came out, looked at the job, came up with some solutions on how to remove the item. Very Friendly, helpful, hard working young men. Total cost $173. Will never recommend College Hunks! They gave a friendly phone estimate but didn't disclose many hidden fees. When men arrived they estimated the job (which was not even a complete ride on lawnmower) They looked very uninterested in doing the job. Offered a ridiculous estimate of over $250. Had no desire to be helpful or do the job. Big difference in price and customer service. Highly recommend 1-800-GOT-JUNK read more

Recently had 1-800-Got-Junk come on over and grab our junk that consisted of a living room table, side table, sofa that was upstairs and a wide, heavy faux leather sofa downstairs. Justin and Louis made short work of the upstairs living room set. They even were able to get the leather sofa downstairs through our rather narrow basement door. They used every tool at their disposal to break apart that old sofa to get it into the trunk. They even managed to move a loveseat downstairs in the place where the sofa was. It was difficult getting it down there but they were persistent which my mom and I really appreciated. This was my 3rd time using 1-800-got-junk and everything went great as usual. read more

Great service! Over the years I had collected a bunch of odds and ends around the place, as we all do, that I wanted gone. I'm glad I decided to work with this company. Everything was easy from start to finish: I booked the job online at a time that was convenient for me, the associate called to let me know when they would arrive, and I basically pointed at the junk I wanted removed and it was gone. The price was reasonable too considering it kept me from having to haul a bunch of heavy things down three flights of stairs. Good job! read more

Ridiculous prices. They came on time and quoted me $1000 to remove trash bags, two deep freezers, and a couch. $1000!!! When I said no they said what's my budget. I said how much for just the trash bags they said $508. That's crazy. I told them thanks but no thanks. read more

Inconsistent communication! Overcharging! I was passed around like a hot potato throughout the day between employees. And the office and field employees contradicted each other. I was charged for 2.5 truckloads ($1894) when the photos show that the junk and debris could have fit into 2 trucks. (I agree with Howard B's 8/20/20 review and wished that I read it before I hired this company.) read more

I have used this service on many occasions for my real estate company. We have agreed to no longer use their services for they are very inconsistent, overcharging and underdelivering. Their service is completely inconsistent on what they will haul and what they are willing to call a full load. It changes with the workers, the weather and their emotions. They advertise a great product but provide significantly less. You have to battle with the workers to take more on the truck, but for more money they will happy take more. That's not the way to treat a customer, especially one that has given them many opportunity to get it right and an agreed upon price of $600 per load. The truck pictured was about 35-40% empty but they defined it as full. Had they have taken the balance of the pile to be hauled, it would been less than full. Job was not completed successfully and they chose to loose a large paying customer. THis is not the first time we had this issue, it's about the fourth time in the past year or so. I recommend you call another hauler. I will be. read more

Gave them two stars for their availability. This company is overpriced. They came out ahead of schedule because of a prior cancellation. A cancellation that I now know means the prior customer didn't agree to their price either. (I declined their business after meeting with them and received a cancellation email.) Anyways, they wanted to charge me $595, then ask me what was I willing to pay. I informed the second guy that I can get a dumpster delivered way cheaper. Do yourself a favor and shop around or rent a dumpster. read more

I called someone 3 days ahead of time and was able to get someone to come in and take my junk! I had 3 beds/frames/1 dresser and two chairs and they were all taken out within an hour. I tried so hard to find somewhere that I could donate my furniture to since it was so nice, but I kept getting turned away. Given I live in a condo and was only given 1 move out day to use the elevator, everything needed to be out at one time. I called Junk? out of desperation but it was the best decision that I ever made. The guys were nice, easy to work with and respectful of my house. Taking out the items one by one and filling them in their truck. Just for everyone complaining about their pricing. The pricing is based on the amount of space that is taken up in their truck. You might say 3 beds and one dresser and they give you a general estimate but it will be different if the beds are all king sized compared to all twin sized. We even looked at the guys paperwork to see the pricing structure when he walked out of the room...oops....but he was being 110% honest with what the paperwork said. I highly recommend Junk? and had a great and easy experience. read more

I used their services to remove an old dresser. They were flexible for appointment options and prompt. The driver and his coworker were very courteous and respectful. Rates were competitive- I had a lower estimate from another company which they managed to beat. Would recommend for junk removal services but make sure to shop around and get a few estimates so that you can get a competitive quote from these folks. read more

The place rocks, literally. I had two appliances (dryer and a washing machine) that had to be removed from my apartment in a very short period of time (three days to be exact). I didn't have any friends available to help out (slackers), so I had to take matters in my own hands. After trying to find numerous junk removal companies online, I felt that there was no hope that I could have these items removed in time, along with a decent price. In comes 1-800-GOT-JUNK. I made an appointment online for them to come on a Friday morning. On the company's official website, they have a price estimator based on the amount of items you need to have removed. The amount of items is compared to the truck volume for the price estimate. So for example, if you have items that equal 1/8 of the overall volume of the truck used by 1-800-GOT-JUNK, you'll get charged based on that amount and NOT based on amount of hours. Once the appointment was setup, I was sent an e-mail to confirm the time and place of the removal. On the day of the removal, I received a call from the workers who were going to be there to pick my junk. They came on time (a little early actually) and were pretty easy-going fellows. It took them a grand total of FIVE minutes to remove both the washer and dryer (and there were only two workers). Easy as that, simple is 1-2-3. If you make your appointment online, they give you a $10 discount on the total price. They do accept credit cards and yes, they do give you a receipt. If you have junk that needs to be removed without having your house torn apart by weak and/or drunken imbeciles, hit up 1-800-GOT-JUNK. read more

I don't usually waste time writing reviews for big chains, but I have to hand it to these people. They really deserve this review. After doing the run around with every damn charity in town as well as the city and other various bodies, I reached the end of my tether. Our lease was up, we had to have everything out of our house by the next day, and I had 4 large pieces of furniture that I couldn't sell, give away, or get the city to collect before our move out inspection. Nearly in tears I called 1-800-GOT-JUNK willing to actually pay to have perfectly serviceable furniture hauled away. The guy I spoke to on the phone was helpful, intelligent, cheerful and probably saved my sanity for the day. He also told me how to mend a gouge in my floor. The lady who called to confirm was similarly helpful, intelligent, flexible and cheerful, and the guys who came to move my stuff were helpful, cheerful, respectful of my property, competent, courteous and quick. A couple of things they did that were extra helpful included: putting a note in my service call to move me up the list if an earlier appointment opened up, which it did. Calling 20 minutes before arriving to ensure that I'd be there and when I said I was 20 minutes away they said (cheerfully) that they could wait. They quoted me a price when they'd arrived and seen the stuff to be moved and assured me that if I didn't like the price I could say no, no hard feelings. There was absolutely no pressure. And they moved my stuff quickly, competently, and did not scratch the hardwood floors. The price came to less than I expected and they took cash, check or cards right on the truck. And they also assured me that they tried to give anything useable to shelters, charities or even friends and family and what can't be given away is recycled, when possible. So to Sean, Cris and Tyrone, thank you so much. You probably saved this exhausted girl's sanity. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I called 1-800-Got Junk to haul some things away from my Moms house after she passed away. I live in another city and was BOMBARDED by back to back calls and text messages (all while I was on a phone call with a client) saying "the longer we stay, the more you pay". I had know idea who the texts were even from and they were rude and aggressive in nature. I paid by text to get them to stop harassing me. After the job was done, we found out that they had TAKEN a BRAND NEW ALARM SYSTEM. When I called Mike and asked why they would take a brand new device, he said "you said everything must go so we took everything". They bombed me with calls and texts, but couldn't text me to ask if they should throw away a brand new burglar alarm? Mike "resolution" was to split the cost of the alarm system with us. Guess saving an extra $100 on his end was worth bad reviews. Mike is rude, they are all extremely unprofessional, unorganized and not trust worthy. My advice is to stay away and go with a company that cares about their customers more. Will never use or recommend again. read more

I've used them twice in the past 3 months. The first time they came when they were supposed to. They were fast and efficient. But they were a little expensive but not expensive enough to where we wouldn't use them again. The second time the same except the price for the same amount of trash had doubled. It would be a lot cheaper to rent a truck and take it to the dump ourselves. I will not be using them a third time at current prices. read more

The 1800 Got Junk is NOT what they advertise. I called the company because they say they can provide their service within 90 minutes up until midnight. NOT TRUE!!! I was given a date two weeks out. Then the day before the scheduled pickup I receive a call to find out what was being picked up. I tell them some of the items and they say that I don't have to be here when they come. They say they will send the estimate to you and remove the junk with my approval. They say the truck would be here between 4 and 6 pm. The day of the pick up I get a call that says they will be here by 6:30 or 7 pm. Two days later I am still waiting for them to come. They never showed up. They didn't call to cancel. Needless to say I will not be calling them back nor recommending the company to anyone. Don't use them thdo not do what they say!! I was contacted by the owner who apologized for the issue I had with 1.800 Got Junk.com. They promised to send a truck the next day and would deeply discount my pickup. This time they called and confirmed the appointment and actually showed up. The lead worker Jayvon was very nice and knew his business. He and his crew loaded the truck with as many items as the truck could carry and promised to come back for the other items. I paid them and trusted that they would return, which they did. I was very pleased with the service I received from Jayvon and his crew it was worth the price that I paid. I'm would probably use them again. read more

I just called this morning - they arrived at my house this afternoon, right on time! The two workers were extremely professional, polite, friendly, STRONG (that one is important!) and efficient. They moved a heavy bookshelf out of my basement without making a mess or dinging my freshly painted walls, and moved lots of various things out of my garage that were too heavy/bulky/large for me to take to the dump or GoodWill by myself. It was magical - everything just went POOF! :) I will 100% be using them again in the very near future. I highly recommend them! read more

Was it more expensive than trying to con someone I know with a pickup truck to help me take a mattress and box spring to the dump for free? Sure. More expensive than giving these away to someone totally creepy who doesn't show the first two attempts from a Craigslist ad. Yes. Was it worth the price? Yes. Absolutely. Called the day before to confirm with me + check if I wanted an earlier time slot that same day. Called when on the way to confirm their arrival time. Introduced themselves politely. Removed my items quickly and without damaging anything in my house. What more could you want? read more

when you don't end up making an appointment with them they constantly text you asking if you want to. Booked online and got appointment a week in advance. Then immediately called to discuss special needs. After discussion with Manager at 1-800-GOT-JUNK I was promised two teams to complete large job in 1 day. On the day of appointment we left our new home to make 3 hour drive back to old home to meet GOT JUNK. 90 minutes in to our 3 hr drive, the "Local Manager, Zack" called to say they had only one team and they would load truck, take it to transfer station and unload and come back a second time if needed. Thus, doubling the amount of time to do the job and likely taking us into darkness and a dangerous ride home in a tropical storm. When I asked why the were not honoring the appointment/agreement that had been made well in advance, Zack said he had tried to call before. But I called him out - there was nothing in my call history - he had not called before and couldn't indicate a time or date when he supposedly called. He was lieing to weasel out of cheating me of services promised. I called central 1-800-GOT Junk and asked them if they could help me and assign a second truck/team from another office (since they make a big deal about same day service and they had dropped the ball - this didn't seem unreasonable) and they promised that as soon as their customer care center opened in Vancouver, they would be working on a solution and would call me right back. I was informed that I was speaking with sales in Toronto and customer care is on west coast and doesn't open until 12:00pm EST - 3 hours after east coast. Case had already been electronically assigned and would be addressed within 24 hours. Big help to me since I was selling the house and settling next day. While I was on the phone with 1-800 GOT JUNK, Zack called and left a message that he "didn't feel good about the job," so they weren't coming at all. Left us high and not so dry. Never did hear back from central office. I called back at around 3 and they transferred me around and then the call went to voice mail. No solution. GOT JUNK can't handle real jobs. Don't bother. They are not responsible, don't hesitate to tell you anything to get you off the phone, but things must be going real well, cause they can line up work and then not deliver on the spur of the moment. Can you afford that? If not - find another vendor cause GOT JUNK may not show up at all. read more

***The reply to this is a lie. There was only one pile. I declined the discount because I refused to pay more for their poor service. It felt like a scam. Trust me, take your business elsewhere. I needed to have a bunch of yard work moved, along with some random things from the yard (broken lawn chairs, an old grill, etc.) I was quoted one amount on the phone, then told something much higher when they arrived. I didn't mind since there is only so much detail you can tell via a phone conversation, so I told them to go ahead with the new amount. When I went back outside after they claimed to be finished, there was still a pile of junk sitting there. They claimed they didn't know this was part of the total and that it would be an extra $150 to remove this as well. I almost had them dump the contents of the truck at that point. They had removed things that were literally part of that pile, I don't know how they got that confused. So I overpaid for them to move half of my junk, then luckily found someone else to do the rest as a favor. I will not use their services again. read more
