I have been going to USA subs for few years. The place is okay, but the employees are excellent. They're all very nice and attentive to your needs. They treat you with the utmost respect and they make you their priority. I only have two comments to make. a- I wish they use a variety of breads similar to Subway. b- It would be nice if they make employees with beards or facial hair wear hairnets for extra measures. A true Derry staple for well over 30 years... USA Subs truly has something for the entire family... My most recent visit I was greeted by a kind young man, Logan and what made this visit review worthy was his willingness to serve me minutes after their closing hours. I have had other people try calling same problem they can't hear you or they just say hello hello or they just don't answer the phone tried my land line cell phone , friends phone the same run around. Awesome! Order was taken within 1 minute of walking in the door. Staff was very friendly. Food was made and promptly finished in a decent amount of time. Almost every time I have gone here, it has been a positive experience. The food is good, and the members of staff are very polite.

I keep giving this place a try as I live in Derry so it's more convenient. I called today and ordered a small steak and cheese sub extra cheese and mayo toasted. When I got there the girl handed me the sub and said "here's your small stk and cheese extra cheese" and then I said "with mayo right" and she replied "yes and toasted" I'm like great. I get home to open my sub and see that there is no extra cheese and it isn't toasted. The lady at the front assured me it was how I ordered it when really it wasn't right at all. I was very hungry today, and chose to order the large teriyaki steak sandwich. When I got home, I opened up the wrapping and saw that only 3/4 of the sandwich was filled with steak. I ordered the 14 inch sandwich to get a 14 inch sandwich, not an 11 inch sandwich and 3 inches of bread. I was dissapointed, but I shrugged it off and took my first bite. The FIRST bite had hair in it. It wasnt just one piece of hair either it was a few strands. I had to throw away basically a quarter of the sandwich because of this. the bf & I were starving and just happened to drive by this place, so we stopped in. It is small - I'd say there are only 5 or 6 tables to sit at, but we went on a Monday night around 7pm and there were mostly only take-out orders sifting in & out of the place. We placed our order: 1 small steak & cheese sub, 1 small roast beef sub and 1 small fry. with two drinks as well it came to just under $20, not bad. The only downside is they don't offer mozzarella sticks (minus 1 star)... if they offered them I could've easily given this place 5 stars. The food was done in about five minutes and it looked amazing. the rolls are SO fresh which makes all the difference. my steak and cheese was the bomb (ha... ha) but really, it was delicious and the bf said his roast beef was really fresh and good as well. The fries seemed extra fried - they have a crispier shell that we loved. The staff was really nice and the atmosphere was pleasant, although there are no TVs - so if you're dining alone it could get boring. We decided on subs for our New Years Eve meal. We were going to be in the Derry area so checked Yelp, this place got 4 stars. Anything above 3, we typically find to be decent, so we settled on ordering from USA subs. Called to place an order on the way (we were about 20 minutes out) and the phone was busy for a solid 15 minutes. Then it rang, and rang, and rang, and rang....we decided since we were almost there, we'd swing by to make sure they weren't closed. (An earlier call revealed they were open until 7, it was now 6:30.) Got there, and there were about 5 people working behind the counter. We were greeted promptly, and they got started on our 4-person order immediately. We had our order in less than 10 minutes. If we were basing this review on customer service alone, it would be getting 5 stars. Super friendly and efficient staff, but we all know it's about the food. I ordered an Italian sub. It was very soggy - it was drenched in oil and vinegar. It was pretty much inedible. Kids got a chicken caesar sub and a meatball. One said the chicken caesar was "okay." The one with the meatball said it tasted like "plain hamburger on a bun with flavorless sauce. No seasoning." Trying a bite confirmed this. My husband got a steak bomb, one of their "famous" ones. If at all possible, it had even less flavor than the meatball. Should have listened to the review that questioned locals' taste in good food. What a waste of $27.00. Very disappointing. Next year, we'll stick to mediocre Chinese food. read more

I ordered an Italian with double meat because they literally give u two pieces of meat for a 12 inch sub ! They clearly didn't give me double .. this is basically all lettuce ... just ridiculous for what you pay . The first time I ordered they put tomatoes on it when I told them not to because I'm allergic .. so the gave me a credit and once again could not get it right . I also found it rude that they lock the doors at 8:50 with a crowd of people trying to get in .. don't you want to make $$? I've eaten here over the past 20 years whenever I was living in NH. They make the best subs around in my humble opinion. I esepcailly like the chicken bomb or steak bomb, depending on my taste at the time. I ordered a cheddar and steak Caesar salad. I looked at the counter person and asked were the Steak was she said under the cheese and curious why it was pre packaged and quickly handed to me (cold) when I got out to my car I looked under the shredded cheese and there is this finely ground Brown granular like bacon bits, just a tablespoon full sprinkled on top of some wilted lettuce. I ate it against my gut instinct. I should have listened to my gut because my gut was a mess the rest of the day. I ate 26 rolaids..No relief. Then, as I was driving, you guessed it. I had to go to the bathroom in the woods of Boxford twice. Thinking the worst was over I went to Planet Fitness with a friend and had to end my workout early as I was throwing up in the parking lot. Its not over. The counter girl was very cold to me. I am a friendly person however they were busy so I shrugged it off. But I had had it by 6pm and I called to speak to a manager. They put the phone down and went about talking about "I dont know, its some guy who wants a manager ughh" as I waited. Finally I get to talk to a chipper helpful manager and explained my experience. He said the Steak and chedder ceasar salad was one of their "shredded steak" specialties. I explained that I can still taste it, and cant escape the smell as people I work with told me I stunk like dog food. He said he would give me a free sub but the questioning was so intense and he said there will be a coupon with my name on it at the counter, "come anytime to get your free sub" So I asked him what my name was and he said he did not know? So I started (aggravated as heck) to give my name and he said "Mike? how do you spell it?": Are you kidding me? I had to go. I said forget it. I will never eat there again. "Ok Mike this is a real inconvenience to us"!! WTH? I hung up.. So now I lay in bed, stink of rotted meat. I am truly sick as a dog and am debating driving to the Veterans hospital for food poisoning. I have a fever, chills sweats and cannot stay out of the bathroom..All for $11.99 I totally hate myself for going to this dirty unsanitary and rude feeding hole..Just buy a bottle of tums and ten rolls of toilet paper if you go. Given the signage and other reviews, I was expecting a local fresh sub place. Aside the steak and cheese, it is a Subway quality sandwich place. I've passed this shop many many times since it's right in the center of town. The small building and somewhat tacky name caused me to write it off as a good place to eat. However, on recommendation from a friend I decided to try it. I was not disappointed! I bought the meatball sub because it was on special, and my girlfriend got the hot crunchy vegetable sub, both were very good. I noticed they use piantidosi bakery (from Malden) bread for their subs. I don't understand the fascination with this place. Yeah, the servers are very nice and all and they keep it clean in there, but the food quality is sub-par. I think the fascination is a "Towny" thing. Their meatball is "pretty good" however, I had their French Dip and was disappointed as the meat was kind of fatty and chewy. Their bread is at the bottom of the charts for what I'd prefer. It tastes like that bland D'Angelos style bread that was baked a week ago and is difficult to bite through and chew. And not that it has anything to do with the food and service, but to actually claim and patent the "Steak Bomb" and "Signature Subs" claim them as your own original ideas.... Their salads are horrible . one time I got a grilled chicken salad and it had melted cheese on it, hot soggy lettuce and the fatty parts of the bacon(when I never even asked for bacon or cheese). Tonight I tried getting a wrap and got all the way home and it was on their way too thick sub rolls with what looked like extra mayo when I asked for very light mayo and they added onions when I never asked for onions... Clearly the workers don't know how to assemble a sandwich once their buddies come parading in to visit them so they get distracted.
