This post office is small town. It helps it take care of its customers. I have trouble getting to my PO Box regularly due to illness. They have held my mail at times for over a month. None of my mail has ever been returned because I haven't picked it up in a timely manner.No other post office would do this. Sometimes mail is misplaced but that happens at all post offices. The employees are exemplary. Just ask and they will do all they can to help you out. read more

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The small size has become a problem from Community growth in this town though. They need another teller and window. Half the time there is no parking, vehicles waiting in the street creates safety issues. The staff is great though! read more

I absolutely love this post office. They are the friendliest staff, always courteous and as efficient as possible. My only complaint is that they aren't open on Saturdays but that is small potatoes compared to this gem of a place. I will hold off my shipping needs until Monday if that means getting to come here and avoid the Vancouver post offices and their queues from hell. read more

Just this week we received a letter telling us we have to move our mailbox up the street and we have a week notice otherwise our mail will stop. I called the manager and was told the carrier can't make a safe turn on Vernon road so everyone has to move their mailboxes up the hill. So in order for us to get our mail we will need to DRIVE to our mailbox because the road has no shoulder or sidewalk to walk safely. Makes a lot of sense. I would rather drive to camas and get a PO box than deal with them anymore. The logical thing to me would be to move the mailboxes across the street where the carrier can use the pull through....... We have had nothing but problems with the mail carrier dropping off our mail. We continually receive notices to pick up at post office for stupid stuff that fits in our mailbox. read more

This is a post office, despite the weird title in Yelp, which currently says, "United States Government". It's a tiny one, but they're always extremely efficient and courteous. They do all the normal things post offices do! Parking can be tricky. They only have like 6 spots in their actual parking lot, which is also the drive-thru mailboxes, so consider parking on main street, especially if it's a busy time (like just before closing). Also, some older GPS might have the old (numbered) street names, where the post office is on a numbered street. It is, in fact, on Pendleton Way. read more

What's with all the negative reviews? The current crew working the front desk here is simply the best. Friendly, humorous, effecient and fun. Yes, Fun. When is the last time you went into a business (let alone a Post Office) where they consistently make you smile? From putting out seasonal decorations, wearing elf ears during the holidays, or showing a sense of humor. I've had a post office box here for over 10 years (so I'm here a lot) it's a perfect example of a business where staff works extremely hard while showing personality and a human side. Whoever Beth is is extremely rude. Promised to call me by the end of the day about a package delivery problem and had to call back myself. Tried to blame me multiple times for my packages not being delivered and not being able to find a missed package delivery slip. Would not stop interrupting me on the phone and even laughed at me for asking a question. Extremely rude. Hopefully the package pick up goes better tomorrow. read more

My neighborhood has received one another's mail for the last 15 years. The latest incident was when a package was "delivered to agent" meaning it was at the post office and not my mailbox. I knew this by online notifications setup by the sender as there was no notice in my box. When I went to pickup the package the person at the front desk told me they gave my package to someone else. On many occasions I've driven to the P.O. at the airport when sending something of importance to bypass the problems at the Washougal branch, which one should not have to do. read more

Once again, the Washougal post office leaves much to be desired. Allegedly they have attempted delivery on a package twice now but couldn't catch us at home. I work from home I was definitely here today when they couldn't "catch me at home" when I called down to the post office to complain I was told the package wasn't even taken out of the building. So even if she did "catch me at home", how would they have delivered something she didn't have with them the vehicle? I guess that's our tax paying dollars at work. read more

Honestly don't get all the bad reviews this place gets. I went there today to turn in my passport application and get everything done with it and it was a great experience! The staff we nice as can be and were very fast at getting the process completed so they could move on and help the next guest. It may not be the nicest, greatest post office but it doesn't deserve the bad reviews it gets at all. Usually we go to Camas USPS, but we went here to apply for passport for my son. The clerk was very friendly and funny. He made the experience enjoyable. There were a few people behind us in line for passport application, but the process was quick and efficient. read more

Went to get our passports (along with half of Camas) and even though we didn't have an appt we were in and out of there in 45 minutes! The staff was super busy and still managed to be super polite!! We had a package "marked delivery attempt made" but I was home the entire day so I knew something wasn't right. I contacted the Washougal postmaster(named Stephanie)and received the worst customer service. Instead of just apologizing for the mess up, she decides to dig in and asks what our driveway looks like. Then declares that postal vehicles are not allowed to back up and informed me unless we had a circle driveway, they would not be delivering packages to us. Now I have to drive to the post office to pick up packages because I questioned why one wasn't delivered. I noticed other customers have also had this same situation, it's so upsetting! read more

The woman who works here and answers the phones is rude and unprofessional. Many people have had issues with this post office and it's carriers just straight up not delivering packages for no reason. And when you call to get info you have to deal with this woman who is rude from the very beginning, talking down to you and generally being incredibly unhelpful and unprofessional. If I'm paying for shipping, and literally paying your salary with my tax dollars, you'd think they'd be interested in finding out why their carriers aren't delivering to certain homes. I do not have time to pick up packages I paid to be delivered and then to be treated poorly by the "person in charge" at the post office when I'm just asking why my packages were not delivered. This place needs to be cleaned up in the employee dept and have some serious customer service training done. read more

I can see why USPS is not doing too well. Yes, there is competition from UPS, DHL, and FedEx among others. There's a reason why that is: They have horrible customer service, they lose your mail, the website doesn't work, and the lines are long. I came to report a problem and the only response I got was to go online. I did go online, but the website didn't work. I'm from California, I know bad service. I didn't expect it from here but I guess you take the girl out of CA but customer service at USPS is still the same. read more

I have had nothing but problems with the postal service since moving to Washougal. Two packages that cost over $100 to mail were never delivered that I sent from this post office and supposedly just lost so then I spend $40 to send something priority and it never gets there, ends up coming back undeliverable (to an address Ive delivered to multiple times) and they tell me they wont give my money back because there must have been a reason they couldnt deliver it like someone answered the door and said the person whos name was on the package didnt live there?! What kind of crap is that?! Its my daughter!! She lives there with her cat. Did her cat answer the door?! Won't deliver our mailed packages because they don't like our driveway. Apparently they hired drivers that are incapable of driving down a driveway unless it has a turnaround. They pick and choose which taxpayers will get their mail. Lazy and dysfunctional post office. Their one and only job is to deliver the mail and they refuse to do it. read more

Ok...now I get it. Per many reviews, as listed below, whose experiences are unhappily, frustratingly familiar...it's NOT just me. Wish I'd taken a look at the reviews quite a while ago. I too, dread discovering that any expected pkg is being handed off to this local USPS via UPS "Surepost" (will SUREly take several extra days & elevated BP to receive pkg), or FedEx "Smartpost" (won't even go there) ;-) At the office...(with the one, relatively new, young lady associate as an exception)...the obstinate, peculiar, touchy, counter staff and impatient, rude, indifferent "manager" at this branch are a black eye on the entire (usually, truly amazing) institution of the United States Postal Service. (Former employer of my sister, and several friends in other states). One reasonable, comparatively normal lady associate at Washougal branch left several months ago, was replaced with another pleasant, efficient young lady...and I can only imagine that she too, will transfer out of that dismal and bizarre little fiefdom just as soon as she's able. Can't begin to figure out the deal with our regular carrier. We can only guess that the couple of neighbors that actually receive their mail and pkgs on a timely, regular basis are bribing him. Go to Camas or Vancouver if you can. We'll be getting a P.O. Box at another location to avoid the chore of dealing with this situation. read more
