This is a pretty solid post office. No one reviews these type of places except for when there is a bad experience. The staff at this location is my favorite in town and they always are happy to help with whatever. The only complaint is that they close on the weekends super early, so makes it hard to ship out on Saturday but lots of other post offices open to choose from if you miss the window. read more

Decent post office located in downtown Vancouver Washington. Love the old building! Parking can be tricky since there's only street parking available. They do have a few drive up blue mailboxes to mail letters across the street from the main entrance. read more

It's hit or miss at this location. I will usually go to whichever post office is closest and it turns out this is the one that I tend to frequent the most. The problem is that I have come in several times and the lobby is messy and the clerks act as if they are doing you a favor. Well, technically they are but yet, it's their job!!!! It's pretty bad that when you have good service it's like you won the lottery. It shouldn't be like that! The post office is a full function post office. This is a post office, old school post office. Think, no real amenities, no super supportive staff just your basic US post office, all wrapped in an ancient stone building (leave your wheelchair at home). Coming to this spot is more like a history lesson, from the building to type of service offered. Any post office trip is seldom a joy, more like a lengthy wait on marble floors, in that respect this post office is no different. I would suspect that this post office won't exist that much longer, somewhere there's a developer licking their lips at the chance of re-purposing such an awesome building. That's probably what makes it so fun to visit. Each visit to a place like this can be heavily coloured by the actual employee that you get to deal with, in my case it was Darlene who was so upbeat it was a little creepy. but nice. This may be one of the last of a dying breed, but it's also a great example of old Vancouver architecture, definitely worth a visit, just be prepared to wait, it's the post office. read more

I came into here one time this past spring when I had parcel return to me after I mailed it and I wanted to know why it was returned and they said it was because I didn't put a stamp on it. They fixed that and sent it on it's way with no problem. I came back later over the summer after I upgraded my phone and sent my old one on it's way since it was a trade in also with no problem. The employees are also very friendly and happy to help. I noticed there are some reviews on here that are negative and of course everybody has had a different experience here. Some did have a bad experience and I am sorry to hear that. My experiences at this particular post office so far has always been a positive one like, just read above. Anyway, I typically prefer the downtown post office for a couple reasons. The first is that this one is closer to where I live and the second is I always like going downtown regardless of what city I'm in unless it's Portland and I prefer the city over the country. The post office has so many problems especially in recent years mainly because of Trump and the Republicans trying to sabotage our postal service. He put Louis DeJoy in charge of our postal service when he was president and that caused mail delivery to slow down and it would always take forever to deliver mail in our country. And every business is gonna have employees who are rude and inconsiderate no matter what type of business they are. There are always gonna be people who have bad experiences even if it's a decent business. There are horrible businesses that treat everybody like crap and definitely avoid those especially if they have so many negative reviews read more

Its an older model building from the outside, but it's modernized on the inside enough to contain a small post office by the front. I went in and usually mail out art, but a poster tube and pay for the box and shipping. They didn't have the box so went to the other post office in town. Everything else was good service. read more

I had two really disappointing experiences here and would strongly recommend finding a different post office to rent a PO Box at. One time I opened my PO Box to find someone else's house key, car key, etc with a copy of MY PO BOX KEY on their keychain. I have plenty of sensitive financial statements sent to my PO Box so I was very concerned about having my information compromised. When I brought the keys to the front desk, the male worker told me they had "forgotten to switch the locks" on my PO Box between customers. This seems like something that should have been keenly attended to given that the previous customer kept their keys. Apparently the customer had just left their keys at the post office and they put them in my box because the P.O. Box key matched. The other experience that made me feel really uncomfortable was when the same male worker (young man probably in his 30s, might be the supervisor?) said "you order too much stuff online" in a judgmental, non-friendly way after retrieving packages of mine from the back - something that he has routinely done before. I order most things for my fiancé and myself online because of experiencing social anxiety in stores, and I really did not appreciate someone attempting to judge and shame me for my shopping habits. I am sooo annoyed by my postal carrier. He/she misreads the address on my packages about half of the time and puts the key to the bin in the wrong mailbox. Then I have to call and track down who the carrier was and wait for them to come back and put the key in my box. This happened again yesterday. I called them at least 10 times in a row and later about 5 times in a row, and nobody ever picked up. So apparently I now have to go to the post office itself on Monday but by that time whoever got the key will have already gotten my package. I know that differentiating between similar addresses is part of their exam but my carrier seems to have squeaked by that part. This shouldn't happen on such a regular basis, and I am fed up. read more

It's safe to say that you pretty much know how your day's about to go when you wake up at 2am to the sound of your cat barfing in your new shoes. It's gonna be memorable at least. A nuts morning at work meant that I forgot to put a CD for a friend in the mail... again. So my only option to actually get it sent would be to go to the Downtown Post Office during the lunch hour, on a Friday, of a holiday week. Not exactly something I was looking forward to. But upon arriving I was shocked that it was practically empty. Two tellers, one person in line... could it be true? It must be true! I was in an out in 5 minutes, with a smile on my face that matched that of the staff behind the counter. It's the typical postal set up, nothing out of the ordinary... though I will say that I got my passport here a year ago, and it was a delightful (as far as obtaining national identification documents go) experience. The lady who runs the passport office is a friendly and chatty soul who even went so far as to retake my photos (on the house no less!) because the set I submitted were off just a tiny bit and she didn't want to see them rejecting my application. I was really appreciative about that! So if you do need the help of the USPS and are in the area, I'd recommend stopping by. And if you do find yourself waiting in line there's lots to look at in this old building dated from 1916. From the fixtures to the antique mail boxes, and ornate tile and stone work it's an amazing piece of craftsmanship in the city. Of course if architectural appreciation is not your thing it's a cool place to ponder the issues on your mind... Like what exactly to do with some, uh, "newly customized" shoes. read more

I got here 30 minutes ago, with 4 people in line... The blonde gal was working on somebody's passport. The Asian gal came out, helped one customer, looked at the next gal in line and said she would be right back. That was 20 minutes ago... Next, the blonde helped a gentleman who was not in line. Then she helped another woman who was not in line with her passport... When questioned, she snapped at the next gal in line that that woman had been waiting for an hour for her passport. The whole time, the Asian gal and another guy could be seen in the back sorting... Even after seeing 8 people in line, she kept sorting mail... At least 5 people walked out without being served... With customer service like this, no wonder the Post Office is struggling... read more

We have been searching for a box that I mailed from this location for a week. Their response was be patient, we know you paid $50 to get it there in 3 days and even though the form says Saturday delivery there is no guarantee . The form says if you pay more for 3 day delivery we'll give you a day to expect it but don't count on it. The box was a basket for my sisters fundraiser, it was a stress she didn't need while battling her stage 4 cancer. read more

Worst customer service by Darlene the window clerk she is so rude how does she keep her job

This is the epitome of POOR service. Two windows open - two so called "workers" there. The sign on the door says open until 5:15 PM even though the hours posted here on Yelp are different. My son went to pick up a package and arrived at 5:05 PM. Doors were still unlocked as people were still inside being "helped". He was rudely told they were now closed and open only until 5:15 PM and it was now 5:30 per their clock on the wall. Seriously? I would like to do that at my job - move the clock hands ahead by 15 minutes so I could get out early! The attitude of the people working there is HORRIBLE and I have waited in line over 30 minutes to pick up a single package! VERY POOR service and HORRIBLE people there. read more
