    Had the best experience at this location. Arrived Tuesday, checked in at 8:30 am and zoomed out by 9:00 am. Nick, a really nice man who helped process my papers said it was very unusual that a line wasn't forming out the door and it was my lucky day!!

    Arrived at the DMV on a Tuesday at 8 AM when they open to discover this line already queued up to go inside. I was here for an hour and a half and never got my number called. Absolutely pathetic! All I need is new tags. I think you should separate the lines between people who need a deep dive into the DMV versus people who could be helped within 15 minutes. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to come back here again to get my tags renewed because they say you can mail in the form, for God knows how long that will take considering the line did not move for almost 2 hours! Absolutely, ridiculous!

I took that VERY SAME application to this DMV branch where I was treated with understanding, kindness and quick friendly service. I now have my Handicapped parking permit. Kudos to Lake Oswego DMV!     Disappointing Experience at Lake Oswego DMV…read more I had a very disappointing experience at the Lake Oswego DMV during my appointment this morning to transfer the title for a vehicle I recently purchased. When I approached the counter, I politely greeted the clerk with a "Good morning." Instead of returning the greeting, she stared at me and immediately said, "What do you have here?" Her demeanor made me feel unwelcome from the start. I handed her the packet of documents the Audi dealership had instructed me to bring for the title transfer. Her response was, "Why are you giving me all this paperwork?" She pulled out only the title and one other form and handed the rest back to me. A few moments later, she asked where the promissory note was. I explained that it was likely among the documents she had just returned to me. After locating it, she took out a magnifying device and spent several minutes scrutinizing the paperwork. She then took the documents to a supervisor and was gone for approximately ten minutes. When she returned, rather than explaining what was being reviewed, she appeared frustrated that the documents were legitimate and complete. She then asked whether the vehicle was present. I explained that I had driven a different vehicle to the appointment. She informed me that she could not process anything without the vehicle being there and handed all of my paperwork back. At that point, I felt degraded, disrespected, and treated as though I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. Whether intentional or not, the clerk's attitude throughout the interaction was dismissive, unfriendly, and unprofessional. I understand that DMV employees must verify documents and follow procedures. However, there is a significant difference between doing one's job and treating people with courtesy and respect. A simple greeting, clear communication, and a professional attitude would have made this experience entirely different. The State of Oregon should expect and require a higher standard of customer service from employees who interact with the public. No customer should leave a government office feeling disrespected and embarrassed after simply trying to complete a routine transaction.

    I had to get tags for my car because the crappy dealer lied and said that I couldn't renew my tags…read more Liars. Lol. DMV said of course. And it's easy. I had an appointment and was on time, got a super friendly and helpful representative, who guided me to leave and go to DEQ, then come back on a priority ticket, and man alive I'm glad I did. She even directed me the right thing to do on an issue for my mom. Truly great experience. Again. I really like this DMV and I'm so thankful I got everything sorted in ONE trip!!

I had to renew my DL and get the real ID, so I had to come in. I tried making an appointment online, but the next available appointment was at a further location in over a month. It would be cutting it too close with my expiration date. I tried my luck this morning as a walk-in. I came in at 10:15am on a Thursday. At first, I was discouraged a little when I took my number and my estimated wait time was 1hr - 1hr 25 min. Within 5 minutes of waiting, I saw my wait time grow to 2hrs. Luckily, we don't have to sit and wait there, so I ran one errand. Perfect timing because the wait was a lot less than originally estimated! I was helped within an hour by a super friendly lady named Anahi (sp?). It was nice chatting with her while she quickly took care of my renewal and application. I waited maybe another 5 minutes to get my photo taken and then was done! One thing that's new (for me) was being updated with the wait via QR code. It's SO nice not having to wait the whole day there not knowing when you'll be helped. I've been to other DMVs that aren't that great and this location is my favorite.

    Got in and out pretty quickly for a transfer of title and the reception gentleman was actually…read morereally friendly, which I didn't expect at a DMV. Using appointments is the way to go otherwise it could be an extreme wait. I came in and had an estimate of four hours for service and then I just made a quick appointment and got seen sooner. There was a really angry guy yelling at the women receptionist for some reason who caused a huge scene so that was a little fun, but I felt bad for the receptionist.

    The newer way of things (since I swear it changes with each DMV and over time) is that you go into…read morean immediate line for a person who you say what you want to do and they tell you how to do it, what forms you need and instruct you with a few pro tips like, "Don't forget to sign and that that form you are holding." Unfortunately I was number 450 and they were at 396 so I was waiting over two hours to get called. Last year I helped work to Oregon getting a pollinators plate for the state which provides funds to the pollinators educational program at OHSU. I had my certificate to get my new plate (which is beautifully designed by a 16 year old Estacada student). When my number was called it was then fast and easy to get my new plates. The folks that work at this location all seem very friendly and knowledgeable. Ad it was there was a guy sitting fairly close to me. I got the impression he has sat down due to fatigue. One of the staff came over to update him. When the person trying to help was letting him know his wait time he kept interrupting her and barking at her. I was trying not to overhear but she was so kind even with his nature. I was impressed and relieved when he finally seemed to listen to her telling him she was sorry for the delay in whatever and that they were trying to get to his issue. I get it - people go in pissed off from the start so I definitely appreciate the kindness while they are trying to do their job and navigate very hostile people.
