Guys I promise, if you live in the area, just using FedEx or DHL might be more than worth the quality of service. They don't listen when you give them simple requests. I don't know if it's from them being lazy or what, but I've been waiting for a package for I don't know how long past my original date, and they said they couldn't do my redelivery when I told them to leave it at my mailboxes. Honestly zero stars. It would have been easier AND more efficient if I had gone by foot to pick up my packages from each distributor that I ordered from in the last couple weeks, because at least I would get them. I was supposed to receive a padded envelope from my grandmother Worth sentimental value and was looking forward to it seeing as how I just moved across the country here. I never received it and no help has been issued towards me despite the multiple attempts of visiting the post offices in N Portland to find out where tf it went. I watched my post man sit in his van this morning and not even attempt to deliver my packages and hit the Attempted button for me to get it by email at that moment. Absolutely disgusting. I've had to reorder supplies for my business three times because of this and their flippancy. I'll be back on Monday to find out where my stuff is going. See y'all then. read more

This post office is extremely average in a variety of ways, none of which are positive. First, there is always a long ass line. That's typical at the post office, right? But it's not because this post office is super busy. It's not. It's just because everyone who works here works at a glacially slow pace, and there are typically only one to two people working the counters (two is literally the most I've ever seen). Now, they don't need to rush people out the door, but I'm literally giving you a package and sticking my card in a card reader. It shouldn't take 5 minutes for each person. At literally any other "cashiering" job, you would be fired for this. For real! Second, why is it laid out so that if I need to find a box then I'm in everyone else's way? The supplies are adjacent to the aisle but everything is so cramped that there is no place for me to stand out of the way while I'm looking at packing materials. It's really frustrating! Nobody who works here, except for Leo and Yolanda, seem very happy about their jobs. Like they literally seem miserable. No one can even muster a smile. Is it that bad to be on the federal payroll and have to put stickers on packages? If so, get a different job. There are no shortage of them in Portland. My biggest gripe with this post office is that Leo seems to think it's okay to make incredibly inappropriate jokes and comments to customers, which can clearly be heard by the other customers not involved. He fancies himself very funny, but he has a crude and sexist sense of humor that isn't appropriate in literally any customer service job or professional setting, especially when you have a captive audience. Having him ring me up makes me uncomfortable. Plenty of other people agree - you can see this mentioned in reviews here and on Google, so I'm not sure why he still gets away with acting like it's the 1950s and chauvinistic jokes are perfectly fine openers for customer conversations. read more

I would like to start off by stating this is a business like every other business in the country. They are not exempt from providing good, proper service. Between Salem and Kenton my Car title was lost. The branch manager said "it's probably jammed in the machinery somewhere" As he laughed. I hope my foot doesn't get jammed somewhere...lol read more

Lazy workers that will do bare minimum to get through the day. Won't want to help and act like its a burden deal with customers. Would never reccomend usps to anyone and if I ever do hear people talk about mailing best believe usps is the first thing I bring up when dealing with bullshit. If you're reading this do the smart move and go through a private owned shipping company its not worth the 2 dollars you could possibly save when usps can cause months worth of headaches read more

The 2016 YELP Review #208: WHAT THE PUBLIC EXPECTS: The job of U.S. postal employees has always seemingly been to get the tasks that are dictated by their job titles and descriptions done in a timely fashion. i.e. if you drive a truck, you drive a truck. if you check people out in line taking care of their envelope mail, packages and other postal accessories and items, that's what you do. NOTE: Obviously not here. There is a single employee here that colors outside of those lines. The husky gentleman behind the counter decided that after taking care of my business that he would comment on the hat that I was wearing. Basically, telling me I was wrong to wear an LA Dodgers hat and then he had the nerve suggested that I should be wearing a San Francisco Giants hat. Now I really don't care for this kind of chitchat because that's not why I come to the post office. The next piece of information is something that no one needs to knows: I don't follow baseball but, the Los Angeles Dodgers were the favored team of my fiance's deceased father, who, sadly, I was never fortunate enough to have met. So why wear it? One day while walking through her father's town I spied a sporting good store and knowing that we would be going to be hiking up to the Hollywood sign, I purchase the hat as a way of taking a bit of her dad with us on the hike and everywhere else I would trek in this world (I serve aboard a missile tracker). I liked that she never questioned why a guy like myself, not into baseball would buy a Los Angeles Dodgers cap. Well, after a simple 2 mile hike, while atop Mount Lee, I told her why I bought the cap. None of that was anyone's business reading this. JUST DO YOUR JOB: I think that the U.S. postal employee inside the Kenton post office should mind his own business and practice it often. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH: While standing in line I also twice heard all about his family and someone who recently died recently in his family. Another thing I wasn't a fan of was the fact that he read my address out loud on both packages that were being sent... as well as everybody else's packages that were being sent. THE BOTTOM LINE: Perhaps it isn't the best job for this gentleman. If he likes to talk so much maybe he's better suited to be a DJ or a telemarketer. If that sounded harsh then perhaps he needs to focus on the job at hand and not diplomatic affairs. The Dodgers hat stays... as I continue to not watch baseball, yet honor what I feel was a great man. read more

Leo at the North Portland Post Office is the kindest, most helpful guy. He helped me get my package sorted, provided all of the options and answered all of my questions, and was so pleasant the entire time. He was also engaging and nice in managing the line and wait. Great post office, don't let the losers leaving bad reviews make you have second thoughts

Now I know why people avoid the Kenton Post Office altogether. I have lost several packages that have mysteriously vanished. When I ask about the lost packages I found the postal employees are rude and very arrogant both on the phone and in person. They seemed angry that I would ask about my missing packages. The employees I dealt with seemed very sketchy to me. None of my packages were ever found or returned to sender. I will not have anymore packages delivered by Kenton Post Office or USPS ever again, it's not worth it. read more

I really wish the carriers would NOT walk across lawns when delivering mail. This is the 4th time they've tracked dog poop on my front porch & mat. This requires scrubbing it off, which is Gross! I've even gone so far as to put a sign on my front door asking them to be more conscientious. Please be more courteous. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. It is a terrible USPS. They will deliver your packages to the wrong house, lose them, and leave it to the customer to figure out. Did I mention they don't do anything to help you, or refund you your money? Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I have been able to depend on this post office for friendly and quick service consistently each of the times I have visited. The inside is fairly small and looks pretty plain just like one would expect from a post office. They have a small parking lot as well as ample street parking on the bordering neighborhood streets. There are several blue post office boxes outside which make it easy to get things mailed out if you miss your neighborhood pickup. I've gone to this post office to purchased books of stamps (yes I still mail out cards) and to mail out the occasional package. Each time I have been able to get in and out quickly and move on with my day. I'd recommend the Kenton post office to anyone in need of any of the services provided by the U.S. Postal Service. read more

Great little neighborhood post office, not very busy when I was there, not busy at all in fact. Very tidy and cheerful. The two people behind the counter were both very personable and efficient. The parking lot is a bonus. For me, this is one of the two best post offices that I've visited in Portland, the other being the excellent Brooklyn post office. read more

While inarguably friendly employees, EVERY single time I walk into this office, there's a line of at least 7 and only one station working. Either woefully under staffed or I have the worst luck... always the end result of a 20 min wait to play words with friends, write a review, and I'm not sure what I'll do next as I'm only half way thru this line. Every time I resolve it'll be my last... that'd it be faster to drive downtown for the main office. Next time for sure! read more

Every time I come here I have a great experience, but thanks to Leo who always has a positive attitude and a great sense of humor, make me want to come here and still use USPS. I have gone to this post office numerous times over at least 8 years. The atmosphere has always been the same. It is a quiet, unrushed place. Of course unless business is very busy, then there would be some rushing!! If someone gave a bad review, maybe it was due to one of those days. I'm very satisfied with the respectful and courteous service I have always gotten from the Kenton post office. read more
