Never again! I needed round stickers to put on gift tags. The only staff there was a very young woman "Cam" who said she was new. Okay, well they must train new staff, right? Apparently not. I explained the size and the project. When I got them home to work with them, I found that they were 1/2 inch too big and the perforated lines for detaching the stickers actually ran across the stickers. I was only able to use a third of the stickers. I didn't want to go in while Cam was the one at the store so I called for the manager who I was told would be back shortly. I asked Cam to please have the manager call me. 4 days later, no return call so I left a message on their answering machine. 3 weeks later, still no return call. So, what to expect from Copypilot: Awful work product and awful service. read more

Rated a 3 merely out of convenience to my home. It's a strange mix of too lax of an environment; employees not professional enough yet I can also appreciate the laid back-ness vibe so I'm left feeling conflicted every time. A strange assortment of crap for sale that has absolutely nothing to do with copies or packages, etc. It's like 2 stores in one, but not in a good way. Oh, and they are the WORST when it comes to getting anything notarized. Their notary is either never there or I "just missed him." When I tried making an appointment, they kept insisting on just coming in, "no appointment necessary" Actuallllly, I think you guys should. I like supporting small businesses so I'd rather go to a place like this than the post office or UPS but I'm always a little iffy about doing business here or trusting them to do their jobs properly and the poor dude trying to figure out the fingerprinting. Yikes. If you live closer to another copying or packaging place you might want to go there first. Also, get your damn windows fixed already! read more

After losing hundreds of dollars worth of packages to "porch pirates" over the last couple of years, we finally discovered Copy Pilot on North Lombard @ 4784 N Lombard St, Portland, OR. 97203. They not only offer drop off services from Amazon, UPS, USPS and FedEx, for a very small fee, they will hold your packages for you so they are not left on your front porch! They will also ship from their location, as well as do digital printing, custom design services, mailing, collating and binding and even offer Notary Service! They have several computers for your use, so if you do not have a computer of your own, you can use theirs. They have additional services that I'm sure I am forgetting, so Google them and come in to meet their very friendly and courteous staff. Shane is the best! They have off street parking in the back of the building. We have been using them now for several years and no longer have to worry about having valuable items taken right off our front porch! I highly recommend them. read more

They went so far and above what they had to do, holding my hand while I had technically difficulties with the formatting, giving me a steep discount, because (they felt) some of the photo quality was diminished, but I thought it was perfect. I have previously used copy pilot to scan documents into pdf format so they can be emailed. In the past, it was $1 per document. Today and I went in and was told that it was now $1/page, so its $2 to scan a double sided piece of paper. What a scam!! Go to UPS store on Lombard and it is $2 per document regardless of how many pages. read more

I'm sad to say that I won't be bringing my business to Copypilot ever again. I prefer to support local businesses, especially in the St. Johns neighborhood, but feel I've been treated with more respect and my documents have been handled with more care at FedEx Office. Here's what did me in: I picked up a color document on behalf of the organization I work for from Copypilot. First thing, they charged me exactly twice what they originally estimated a few days before. I decided to let it go because it was already less expensive than I thought it might be. I took my print to work, removed the plastic tube bag and immediately noticed two parallel creases going across the document in different spots. I laid down the print to see if the creases would be noticeable under the plexiglass I had planned for it. Nope- not going to work, unacceptable quality. I had the plexiglass custom cut to fit within a found frame which would hold the color document. I was extremely careful to make crop marks for copy pilot to follow so that the print fits EXACTLY in the frame. This took me a long time, and measured down to the eighth inch. When I laid it down under the plexi, the document was between a quarter and half inch short on all sides. I emailed them explaining this that they said they DID follow the crop lines exactly, and that I might have to re-work them. I double checked on photoshop, adobe reader, illustrator, and preview, and the crop lines were perfect. Hmm, maybe something was lost in translation between computers, I say. I asked if it would be easier if I sent a print without the crop lines and have them measure the trimming themselves. They responded saying they had already printed another copy of the same file (without the go-ahead from me?) and said that they wouldn't trim it until I came in, saying I could "watch them do it" or that I could do it myself. I come in and am told by the manager that she does not feel comfortable trimming it, and that I would need to do it myself, but made sure to mention again that they had cut exactly as marked. I had the old print with me and showed her, indisputably, that that was untrue, holding up the edge of the short print to the crop marks on the untrimmed document. She didn't seem to care and told me that I could do it on my own and see for myself. Was not concerned about the two creases running across my print. Wondering what I paid for, (because I hoped to pay for this exact service) I proceeded to waste my time and cut the print myself, very slowly and carefully. Low and behold, the print was the exact size I needed, using my original crop marks. Feeling relieved that was over with, I asked the clerk for a bag. He told me "that's gonna be the same price as the first print." Shocked, I asked him to explain why I would need to pay for their mistakes, and he told me his managers felt that they were not at fault in this case (not following crop marks and selling me an unacceptably creased print) and that I would have to pay if I wanted to take my print. I pleaded my case and was told by the clerk that he was already in trouble for trying to help folks out (not a good sign, buddy) and that he had to do what his manager told him, no matter what. Even if the customer did the exact work she paid for (and wasn't given much of a choice anyway). Angry, I told him I'd come back tomorrow and wouldn't pay for it. I walked out of the door, and realized...that I was going to have to take the bus tomorrow... I wouldn't want to take the print on the bus and have it damaged, so I walked back in, sucked it up, and paid for it. I watched the clerk retrieve my print from a wooden shelf where other rolled up posters were being stored, he handed it to me, said "sorry for the confusion" and when I brought my print out to the car.... I spotted a dent on the edge of the paper. See all this for yourself in my uploaded photos. If you want professional service, attention to detail, and kindness in general, don't go to Copypilot. If you just need to print a simple document, maybe. But to be quite honest, I've had better experiences printing at the library. read more

I used to love this place, we've been using copy pilot for 6 years and have had great experiences in the past. Justin (?) provided some of the worst customer service I've encountered. He went so far as hanging up on me when I politely told him he was providing poor customer service and what he was saying was not in line with the email I received from UPS. I just had the same issue as Emily, where they would not release a package to my husband according to "strict orders" and since we don't have the same last name, he couldn't pick it up (what is this, 1950?). He could provide the tracking number and a photo ID. I also called copy pilot and said I could provide more info over the phone, as I am seven months pregnant and sick and can't come in. We are in the process of moving into a new house, so our IDs don't match the delivery address. I imagine this is a common occurrence for rerouting packages to a UPS pickup location From the email I received from UPS "Note: An officially recognized form of ID will be required when retrieving your package. If you are picking up the package and not the addressee, you will also be required to provide the tracking number." Even if it was not in line with UPS policy, the customer service at copy pilot has gone downhill. I will not be supporting this business in the future. read more

I don't have a printer at home and they are always patient and helpful with any printing or shipping I need to do even if I come in close to closing time or there is a line out the door. There is a 3 person limit in the store and though they have a front and back door, people tend to wait in line at the back door, FYI. read more

Wow! The customer service at this shop is ABOVE AND BEYOND any professional business I have ever used! My son attends the University of Portland, and lost his wallet and his phone completely died. I needed to get identification to him asap in order for him to get a new phone, and be able to get on a plane during Fall break. Well, UPS messed the entire delivery up, and wanted my son to Uber to their warehouse to pick this package up. The manager, Shane, was not going to allow this to happen. He contacted UPS, reminded them of THEIR error, and then sent one of his employees, Tahme, to pick the package up! But this isn't it, folks! Then Tahme called me and said she would go TO The University of Portland, and take the package TO him! He was in class, so she took it to the mail room. But OH MY GOSH, these actions were so far above and beyond any expectation I would ever have of a company. I would recommend this business to anyone and everyone! They're incredible, and saved me quite a bit of stress and money to get an Uber for him without him having a phone to schedule any of it. THANK YOU Copy Pilot! THANK YOU Shane and Tahme! They told me they couldn't print from a working Photoshop file. That was after printing one side of a test 2 sided page in the wrong orientation (upside down) on one side in black and white and the other in color from 2 PDF files (front and back). The test print was supposed to be right side up on both sides and in color; at least that's what my Photoshop and PDF files that I created showed. I am a graphic designer and have worked in the print industry a long time. Needless to say, I went with Vistaprint. read more

Went to this place to print about a hundred pages of school documents. They had me use a self-service section. I quickly learned these computers and printers were antiquated. The PCs had outdated, almost unusable software and the printers constantly had problems. The "self-service" computers were clearly not ready to handle common document types, like PDF and DOCX files. As though that wasn't bad enough, the employees acted like I was a burden. It was a struggle to get them to fix their own broken-down printers. A grumpy male employee, in particular, was very rude and unhelpful. All-in-all, this cost me $25 and a lot of frustration to print about a hundred pages. I just wanted to pay and get out of there as soon as I could. If this place were a technology museum, I'd give it a 4/5 for the cool sci-fi posters and free coffee. But since it's just a musty print shop with technology that is only barely Y2K ready, it gets a 2/5 (and only because I actually got my documents in the end). Come here if you want a taste of nostalgia, free coffee, and attitude from a obviously disgruntled man. read more

We have used CopyPilot many times over the past decade, but they really saved our skin yesterday. A title company wanted us to pay a mobile notary $150 to come to our home in the late PM, meaning we would not get the overnight package sent until the following day. Fortunately, CopyPilot was there for us, just a few minutes away, with a notary on staff who could not only handle the signatures we needed, but could put our overnight package in the mail immediately. The notary was quick, professional, and able to help us save $110 in the process. Ugh. I HATE this place. Had to make a bunch of copies of legal documents. Lots of sorting papers, etc. When I was done, the owner tried to charge me for 500 copies, because I hadn't counted them. What kind of low-rent copy shop doesn't have a page counter? After he left, an employee told me how much it sucked to work there, and that the owner referred to Sam Adams as "Our Gayor". Classy. They do charge a little more to ship than the post office, but I'd rather mail something here than deal with the people at the post office. Without a printer this week, I just needed one page printed from a PDF. I emailed it to them cold, got a quick response and the page was ready for me to pick up in no time. When I went to the store, they were fast and friendly with no nonsense. The UPS store where I have a mailbox charges a $2 fee plus a dime per page (for b/w). Copypilot was 9 cents for the one page, no minimum. Nice! I will use this copy shop again. read more

I needed to get some business cards printed out and Copypilot was the first place that came to mind. I attend the University of Portland down the street and I know that a lot of UP students stop by here for their printing needs. Thanks to the great service and product I received here, I can see why! The process of getting my business cards printed out was super easy. I sent a PDF copy of what I wanted through Copypilot's website and received a confirmation of my request almost immediately. I stopped by the following day to pick up my cards and they looked great! They printed out exactly how I wanted them. The man who helped me thought they printed out a little blurry (though I thought they looked just fine), so he gave me double the amount I wanted for free! He also cut them out for free too. My grand total came up to a whopping $2.16 for 60 business cards. Isn't that awesome!? Thanks to Copypilot for providing excellent service and a great product at a wonderfully cheap price. The people were friendly enough, unfortunately their printers don't do a nice job. The first thing I had printed came out looking grainy and off colored. I went home and adjusted some things on photo shop to try and account for whatever their printers were doing, but the photo still came out grainy, I was able to correct for the color a bit. Mind you the image was at 300 DPi and was taken at hi res with my 5d mark II so this wasn't a cell phone picture I was trying to print. Second thing they don't even have photo paper...the best thing they had to print on was card stock. That kind of just blew my mind. I have photo paper and I don't charge people to print their stuff for a living. While I was there some guy was getting a giant poster, like 4 foot by 4 foot printed and they were trying to put the two halves together but they were off kilter. It was pretty obvious he was irritated. I've printed A LOT of stuff at a lot of different print shops in my life and this was pretty sub par. read more
