Some staff are not polite and friendly, making you feel unwelcome. They need to improve their attitude towards their customers.

It's small, almost cozy in there but it gets the job done. They have a few packing supplies and boxes, plenty of stamps and a friendly staff there that's available to help out. The only thing I noticed it was lacking was packing peanuts but that aside, they seem to have just about everything else. The few times I've been there, it's been great and there was little to no line. This location seems overlooked for the busier Main Street one and that's just fine by me. Quick, efficient, courteous and with plenty of parking - what else do you really need?

This post office opens at 9AM on weekdays. I arrive at 8:59AM on a Wednesday morning and see 4 other customers standing out in the rain waiting for the location to open. I hop out of my car, assuming that we will all be headed inside shortly. At 9:03AM, the post office remains closed and we all look inside the front window to see what the hold up is. After all, it is raining, and we would all like to be doing something other than standing in the rain. There is a USPS employee standing inside. She makes eye contact with the group standing at the window, and waves us away. Yep... she made a hand gesture to tell us to screw off. At that point, the other customers leave. I am the only moron who remains. At 9:07AM, the USPS employee unlocks the door. I walk in and this conversation ensues: Me: What was that? USPS employee: The computer wasn't working, what do you want me to do? Me: Uhh... open the door at 9AM so that customers aren't waiting in the rain at least. USPS employee: I'll do whatever I want. I'm the manager here. I'd love to have a job where I can show up whenever I want... anyone know if USPS is hiring?

ELSA quoted me the wrong price for postage rate and overcharged me. When I pointed out her error, ELSA rudely told me to step aside so she could help the next customer -- without admitting that she made an error or even addressing how she would resolve this issue. I explained that I waited my turn in line, and I would like to get my package mailed so that I could move on with my day. I didn't understand why she was casting me aside to help the next customer. Why couldn't she finish my transaction? I was shocked by ELSA's belligerent, aggressive response:"OK! I made a mistake! What do YOU want me to do?!!" My response: "Um...how about correct the mistake and complete my transaction?" I felt disappointed that the other postal clerks witnessed the terrible way that ELSA treated me, but they did not step in to ask her to tone her voice down or even try to help. Instead, it was another customer that pulled me aside and said that ELSA had given him the same rude attitude, and that is why he only received service from the other clerks (if ELSA was the available clerk when his turn in line came up, the customer said that he would let the person behind him go ahead of him so he could prevent ELSA from ruining his day again). When I discussed my terrible experience with ELSA with my family, friends, and neighbors, they all agreed that they also experienced rude service from ELSA and that is why they don't go to this post office branch anymore. Now we all go to the US post office on Mass. Ave. in Arlington or Lexington. The postal clerks there are much more professional and friendly, so it's worth the extra drive!

Interesting little PO at the corner of Comm Ave and Melrose St, I think the word I am looking for…read moreis "nondescript" for the building itself. PO is on the first floor, there is a small parking lot on one side with exit onto Melrose St. I only needed to drop off a small package with a paid label on it, and the box to put packages in said "letters only". I went in and the guy in front of me was dropping off something he had received by mistake (pretty nice, most people would probably just toss it out) and I handed my package to the nice woman at the counter. She was very nice, gave me a receipt so I could track it and off I went. If you were to go here during the holidays - or to get your envelope postmarked on April 15 - the line would probably be out the door since it is a tiny space, but arrive early or go to another location (that probably will not have free parking).

When I arrived at the post office there was no prepaid drop box in the hallway. There was a long line of people waiting in line to do business that involved clerk services. As is the custom in every other post office that I have frequented, I politely excused myself as I went to drop my package off at the counter. Suddenly the big burly male clerk shouted at me yelling about how I had Cut the line. I politely explained that my package was prepaid and I was leaving it on the counter as I was the protocol in Newtonville. The clerk snarked at me saying "Well this isn't Newtonville". I was so shocked and offended by his raging, disproportionate response to my mistake that I snatched my package and turned to leave. I didn't intend to but was so upset that I shouted "F" YOU, on my way out the door. I am embarrassed by my blurted response. However, I have NEVER been treated so abusively. That clerk has no business working with the public!

Forget everything you know about your typical grumpy Post Office workers! The staff at this location are friendly and extremely fast. They are all knowledgeable and are able to have a fun time at their job. The energy in this post office is pretty different. The parking situation sucks however! The street parking can build up pretty fast because it's Belmont. The lot on the side is extremely small. I typically tend to park at various businesses and walk. The only benefit is people typically don't spend a lot of time at the post office.

I was directed to the main USPS branch at 405 Concord Ave in Belmont from the smaller Trapelo Road…read morebranch to have a supervisor assist me with a specific legal form. Unfortunately, the supervisor on duty, Mark, was incredibly rude, aggressive, and entirely ignorant of federal postal regulations. I submitted a standard USPS Exhibit 5-2b form to request a forwarding address for the service of legal process, which is explicitly protected and permitted under federal law via 39 CFR 265.14. Mark repeatedly yelled at me, claiming "you cannot have someone else's address." When I asked him to stop shouting and requested his supervisor's information, he claimed he was the "final authority," refused to give his name, and called the Belmont Police. When two police officers arrived, Mark lied to them, claiming I was trying to illegally obtain private data. The supervisor was mean, completely unprofessional, and escalated a routine legal request into a police matter for absolutely no reason. If you need a legal process form handled, avoid this branch at all costs.
