Writing a review of a post office has to be a lowpoint in my Yelp career. But it has to be done so…read morethat other Yelpers avoid this horrific location. Allow me the opportunity to explain. This post office opens at 9AM on weekdays. I arrive at 8:59AM on a Wednesday morning and see 4 other customers standing out in the rain waiting for the location to open. I hop out of my car, assuming that we will all be headed inside shortly. At 9:03AM, the post office remains closed and we all look inside the front window to see what the hold up is. After all, it is raining, and we would all like to be doing something other than standing in the rain. There is a USPS employee standing inside. She makes eye contact with the group standing at the window, and waves us away. Yep... she made a hand gesture to tell us to screw off. At that point, the other customers leave. I am the only moron who remains. At 9:07AM, the USPS employee unlocks the door. I walk in and this conversation ensues: Me: What was that? USPS employee: The computer wasn't working, what do you want me to do? Me: Uhh... open the door at 9AM so that customers aren't waiting in the rain at least. USPS employee: I'll do whatever I want. I'm the manager here. I'd love to have a job where I can show up whenever I want... anyone know if USPS is hiring?

I tried to explain I dropped a package off at the post office a week ago, but my tracking information was still showing "pre-transit", meaning it hadn't been scanned into the system yet. Wanted to know if it was still there, and what was going on. She didn't ask for my tracking number, didn't ask what size the package was or what it looked like, nothing. Literally just said "well, I don't know.".....okay, thanks for the help?

It may seem irrelevant to write a Yelp review for a post office--but I saw this location had a…read morepretty mediocre rating and I thought I would put my two cents in. Forget everything you know about your typical grumpy Post Office workers! The staff at this location are friendly and extremely fast. They are all knowledgeable and are able to have a fun time at their job. The energy in this post office is pretty different. The parking situation sucks however! The street parking can build up pretty fast because it's Belmont. The lot on the side is extremely small. I typically tend to park at various businesses and walk. The only benefit is people typically don't spend a lot of time at the post office.

Unfortunately, the supervisor on duty, Mark, was incredibly rude, aggressive, and entirely ignorant of federal postal regulations. I submitted a standard USPS Exhibit 5-2b form to request a forwarding address for the service of legal process, which is explicitly protected and permitted under federal law via 39 CFR 265.14. Mark repeatedly yelled at me, claiming "you cannot have someone else's address." When I asked him to stop shouting and requested his supervisor's information, he claimed he was the "final authority," refused to give his name, and called the Belmont Police. When two police officers arrived, Mark lied to them, claiming I was trying to illegally obtain private data. The supervisor was mean, completely unprofessional, and escalated a routine legal request into a police matter for absolutely no reason. If you need a legal process form handled, avoid this branch at all costs.

However, recentlyyyyy I've been to this location twice, and it's been a really pleasant experience ... even with it being around the holidays. Both times, I've had "Anan" (I think that's his name ... so sorry if it's not.), and THIS MAN DESERVES A RAISE!!! Not only is he assertive and efficient, he's also really friendly and ... happy with everyone. Not characteristics you often see from PO employees ... sadly. Both times, I've come in with 10+ packages to mail out, and both times, he's helped me with a smile on his face and with friendly conversation. Such a relief ... since honestly ... I got anxious having to take so many packages to be mailed. Didn't know if I would be met with visible annoyance and a rude attitude, but ... pleasantly and surprisingly, I was not. He brightened my day both days. Regarding "value" or this place ... it's a PO. Do I think prices are higher than they were before? Sure. Is there anything that can be done about it? I don't think so. Just glad that we still have mail delivery.

There I am waiting in my office, then shortly before 2pm the status is updated to 'next business day' because of the lie 'that a delivery was attempted but bldg was closed'. This building with couple dentist offices has people coming in and out all afternoon. Why was there no attempted delivery slip left? Isn't the real truth the carrier just wanted to work a half day and go home?!
