Don't come here looking for Customer Service! The staff is sad and seem really unhappy, which they then portray on to their customers. Witnessed an older Hispanic lady "close" her lane right in front of an elderly lady, to which she brushed her off to a shorter Phillapeno lady who was so rude to this paying customer who just wanted to send an envelope to Guatemala...needless to say she was so rude. Overheard the Phillapeno lady telling a customer that three people had just retired and they did not replace them - my thought, BE HAPPY YOU HAVE A JOB! It's one thing to get this service at a Post Office in Walnut Creek, but it's another thing to get this service at any post office. Seems they don't care since there aren't many options when sending a simple letter or needing stamps. I'd much rather go to the DMV to get stamps...and that doesn't say a whole lot. I hope you ladies at the Walnut Creek location read these reviews and put yourself in check. read more

DON'T USE THEIR HOLIDAY HOLD!!!!!!! We were gone for a month and set up a hold way in advance. We were in another country getting messages from neighbors saying there was mail sticking out of our box for multiple days. Now we received an email saying our hold is complete, but have not received a box of mail as we usually do. SO, where is our mail? We have tried calling the P.O. but it rings for a while and then disconnects. What a disgrace this is!! Don't trust your mail to the P.O. read more

I would really like to give no star. My worse experience is with vacation hold and re-delivery. I have had 3 vacation holds. The first, my mail was held but not delivered as scheduled. The following day I called them. Was told my mail had been put with someone else's held mail and would not be delivered until the next day. Shortly after that call, my mailman delivered the mail. He said it had been in his truck all day. The second time, they continued to deliver my mail and did not hold it at all. The third time is right now. Delivery was supposed to have taken place yesterday, still not here. Another thing they do is not knock or ring the doorbell with a package that needs a signature nor do they always leave a notice. We just had a package that was not delivered, no notice. When we called to find out where the item was, we were told when it arrived at this post office, like two weeks prior. The post office said they had returned it. Days later we found out it had been sitting in the post office the whole time. I could go on and on but will stop with this.I live closer to the Alamo Post Office, totally different environment. The clerks are friendly, helpful and the post office itself is clean and up to date. Unfortunately, I have a Walnut Creek address. I am adding a follow-up. Finally got someone name Pat to answer the phone. My regular mail was delivered a short while ago but no held mail. After being on hold, Pat told me they have no mail in the cage for me and he doesn't know where my mail is. At least he was polite and is trying to locate it. Never again will I put a hold on my mail. read more

Ditto. All the bad reviews. Good place to film a horror movie - just start filming any given day.

They never pick up the phone. Talk about crappy--make that non-existent--customer service.

The people that work behind the counter make you feel like you are such a problem when you just ask a simple question. They must hate their job!!! So frustrated with such rudeness!!! read more

Worse post post office EVER! first off the parking lot is completely full! AND since the lot is full there is a FULL line of people. YEP 10-15 people easily in front of you. What is great is that there were 3 people helping, but then a few minutes later of being in line there were only 2 people working. The person working behind the counter was slow and really gave me a hard time...so im use to going to ups and i bring my item in and my box is not sealed. Danville and San Ramon office don;t care! I ask the lady if my item would fit in the prepaid priority box. She asks me if i tried to fit it...um arn't you working behind the counter? what kind of answer is that. She tells me that it will fit in the medium sized box...ok...GREAT! so it will also fit in the HUGE sized box too. How about you tell me that and charge me for the most expensive shipping you got too...Like all government workers, she is too old and slow and takes a long time typing in the information...I get info i need and want to proceed. NOPE! can't do that box isn't taped down. Interesting there is tape next and near you. BUT she says i need to have the box taped before it can be shipped...instead of being a decent person she wants me to buy the tape...ill just tape the box with this express tape. As instructed, i come back to her, but she takes another customer instead of dealing with me. She tells me that I have to ship it express because i used the express tape...its 2015 and are you kidding me you can't ring me up for different cost shipping. BS! Fine, ill pay the most expensive shipping. The lady then tells me that the address is written too small and people won't be able to read it. I read it fine. She wants me to re-right the PRINTED LABEL AMAZON.COM PROVIDED! She tells me to do it and come BACK! She has to put in all the information and still is incredibly SLOW and tells me I need to sign my credit card. The card that I have owned and used for years... It took 30 minutes to get out both times. I am just going to pay UPS fees which are a bit higher, but they take care of you and you are in and out...I hope USPS goes out of business. OH WAIT...that almost happened. calling tomorrow to complain. lets review lot is full so lots of people in line went from 3 workers to 2 they didn't want to tape my box, but tell me i had to buy it didn't follow through with helping me "next" had issue with address being too small made a fuss about my credit card not being signed wasted a ton of time read more

My office received a notice of mail being held at the post office for postage due. The amount due was $2.45. I pulled that amount from petty cash and went to retrieve the mail. After standing in a long line and waiting for the only open window to assist me, the woman announces that the amount due is $3.87. I tell her i have the form that shows what is due and that is the aount i have brought with me, she scratches it out on my forma nd writes in the her adjusted amount. Then she takes it back and dismisses me quite rudely, telling me to come back with the right amount of money. Wow, who knew the price of a letter was so subjective. One person claims one amount, another claims a different amount. WTH? read more

Its time we did what european countries are doing and privatize USPS. Delivery services are attrocious and WC PO management doesnt give a damn. Public sector unions at their worst. read more

This branch is terrible. They left a notice on my door 6 days ago saying they tried to deliver my package. I then asked for the package to be redelivered the next day, but it was not delivered. Fast forward to today, it still hasn't been delivered. The notice specifically had the phone number and address for this branch. I have been trying to call them to find out where my package is but they have not picked up. The one time someone did pick it, it was to hang up on me before I even got to say anything! read more

Very poor customer service. I have three weeks of held mail that has been missing for over six weeks. I have been given phone numbers to call for an update that no one answers. I have been put on hold for 35 minutes until I gave up as I knew the office was closed by then. I have been promised call backs and never received them. I was at one point told my mail was delivered to the wrong address, but no one seems to be in charge of following up on that information to retrieve it. I have visited the office in person more times than I can remember to talk to supervisors who fail to follow through with their promises. read more

No matter when I come, I'm lucky to find a parking spot, and the line for service is ridiculously long (most likely due to the fact that there are almost never more than 2-3 employees processing requests, all of whom seem to move at a glacial pace). To make matters worse, I have never once seen any of the employees smile, and not one has ever greeted me when it was finally my turn to be helped. I suspect that most of these problems stem from the Postal Service's financial woes and poor morale among employees. It would make a huge difference if the Postal Service hired a couple more employees for this location. I have no idea how to address the low morale problem. read more

no body answers the phone , i have tried many times all day 2/22/2017!! are they on vacation or what ???? The phone number I have been calling is 925 935 0256 . NO ONE IS THERE .................................OR NO ONE CARES!! read more

The service was so bad at USPS it prompted me to create a Yelp account to warn everyone about it. I had been waiting for a package for 2 weeks then I decided to check the tracking number. It showed that they "attempted" to drop off package and that they left a notice. THEY DID NOT LEAVE A NOTICE THAT THEY WERE THERE. I left work early to go get my package at the WC office then they told me it was at the office on Ygnacio. How was I supposed to know that if there was no notice or no way of finding out? So I rush over to Ygnacio office and get there just after they close, about 5:10pm. The guy working the counter says he is closing up but I can return in 30 minutes and he'll give me the package. I come back 30 minutes later and ring the doorbell to the back as he instructed me to do. I hear a, "just a minute" so I wait patiently and checking my clock every so often because it has been awhile. Then I hear him say "Oh shit I totally forgot about you". 15 minutes(not exaggerating) have gone by by this time mind you. I give him my pedigree information license, name, address etc. He tells me there is nothing under my name for the package. I ask if its under my roommates name and give him his name. He then tells me it is, but he can't release the package to me for that reason. I tell him I understand and show him an email from my roommates email address to my email address, clearly stating our names detailing the shipping information, tracking numbers etc. He still wouldn't give me my package. In total I wasted 2 hours trying to get this package and lost wages because I left work early especially to get my belongings. This is absolutely the worst customer service I have EVER received and I do not recommend using USPS for any reason what-so-ever. Pay the extra money in shipping and use ANY other carrier. I will copy this review and leave it on both walnut creek locations because the service was so horrible. Andy read more

Heads up everyone needing a passport. The camera are this location is broken. Make sure you get your photos done before arriving. Otherwise the clerk on Thursday's was very helpful and efficient read more

Keep loosing packages, between this office and Ygnacio valley location. Very poorly trained staff, very inconvenient. You waste 40 minutes in line just to be turned back to your local office, even though your local didn't have your package yesterday. The pick up slip has Broadway Address on it for pick up. This review is regarding the passport services at this location. The mail drop off and pick up staff were as helpful as they could be, but the passport office door was locked at 3:05 when we arrived. The website states that their passport service afternoon hours are from 1-4 pm Monday through Friday. This should have worked well on a Thursday shortly after 3 pm, but they locked the office prematurely citing staffing/lack of equipment. Of note, nobody answers the phone when you call so you can't even plan ahead accordingly. Also, there is a sign on the passport door that states they will at times close the office before 4 pm due to a high demand for passports. This information would be helpful on their website since phone calls are not answered. I would not recommend this location for passport services if you are working around your child's school schedule and coordinating both parents present for the processing of their passport. read more

Just had a nice experience in contrast to all negative reviews. Arrived about 9:40 am on a Friday. Easy parking right in front. Had to mail an insured box and was helped for lowest rate by Alice. The only reason I gave it four rather than five stars was that there were no Pens to fill out forms! read more

I avoid this post office at all costs because of the (always) long lines. You can guarantee them. Here's an interesting fact that may explain the occasional 5 star review. Sometime this summer, I went to the post office, and found parking, no line inside and good service. I jokingly said, "Are you under new management?" and was told that Yes, there was an interim manager. That only lasted for a few visits, and they are now back to normal, which is to say horrible. I generally use the Oak Grove or the Concord post offices if I can. Concord has always been friendly and lacking in lines. read more

Make sure if you do any business here you get the date, time and name of the employee who helped you or else YOU will be accused of not following procedures correctly. I had the date and time I was there- not good enough. It is my fault they did not process the paperwork I turned in to them correctly. I was told on the phone that obviously if I had followed the correct procedure (I'm guessing that means get hired there and accept paperwork from myself) then nothing would have gone wrong. And since I couldn't tell her who had helped me, I was probably a big ol' liar liar pants on fire sort of person. Now they hold my mail hostage for 2 months until they can process the paperwork. Can't rush this, ya know! read more

There were at least 25 different mailmen/ mailladies we have had to deliver our mails and packages on our street, missing packages/ misplaced mails or packages is a weekly matter for most of the residents here , what's with the usps organization? I understand they r short of money and resources, but for whoever is still on the job , they still got paid right? If You hate this job that much you just have to mis read our street numbers and throw our mails and packaged anywhere you want and talk to us rude as hell, then go find another job .... there are a few nice mailmen , but they don't seem to stay on our street , the people working in the office are actually somewhat better . I just lost a package yesterday , it's said delivered but can't see it anywhere , none of my neighbors had it either, and today I was expecting two packages and the automatic message have been generated by their system saying ' can't get access to front door to deliver' ..... WTF???!!very annoying read more

To begin with the mail delivery person left a message in my post box which is across from my front door that she had attempted to deliver a package but I wasn't home. Au Contraire! both my wife and myself were home all day so she lied. But knowing accountability is not the USPS strong suit I went to pick up the package at 9:00 a.m. the next morning. Of the five people in front of me 4 were there to pick up packages. When my turn came the clerk went into the back room for 10 minutes then came out saying she couldn't find the package and that I should wait in the area to her left. Five minutes later another employee showed up at the other end of the counter and motioned me to that end. When I got there she was searching for another person's package. I waited another 10 minutes for her to find their package, then she went in search of mine. Ten minutes later she showed up with the package and we went through the whole show me your ID again bit. Got the package and left. I don't get paid for the time it takes me to go to the post office to retrieve a package because the mail delivery person was to lazy to come to the door for a signature. But the delivery person gets paid, the counter people at the post office get paid etc. Anyhow the Walnut Creek Post office is bad, this is just one of the many bad experiences I have had with them and their delivery people. read more

This is by far the worst PO I have ever dealt with and I am 82 years old. The mail delivery person refuses to deliver my packages to my house which is down a 200 ft driveway. Instead the parcels are either jammed into the small mailboxes on the sidewalk. When I complained about that the parcels were left on the sidewalk and several have been lost. One was insured ($77 of merchandise) but it was impossible to collect cuz delivery person had marked that it was delivered. It is impossible to call this local office; they do not answer EVER. Calling the national USPS Customer Service, wait 1/2 hour and finally spoke to human being. That issue of the missing package worth $77 was won by PO--my loss. Since then packages are just left with my neighbor and she has to deliver them. Last Tuesday, I was home, my gardeners were here and my neighbor delivered one box. She said on another day as ther delivery person was leaving a box addressed to me on her porch, she told the person that the addressee was up the driveway, the answer was that it was too dark to walk down the driveway. There are motion sensing lights throughout length of driveway and the delivery person was wearing a flashlight on head. Again the neighbor had to walk down and deliver my mail. I type this in utter frustration after waiting for about 1/2 hour for the national customer service to answer the phone. read more

The reason the Walnut Creek, CA post office branch gets the worse reviews in the country is because it is run by a jerk named Maria Patterson, who takes obvious glee in demeaning and yelling at customers, who have no choice but to use postal services at this location, I arrived at 5:00 pm one day (due to circumstances beyond my control) and needed to send something on a deadline via certified mail and there was still a line of people inside, so I pleaded with her to allow me to do so. She started to berate me out loud for not coming earlier and yelling at me for no reason. When I asked her why she was addressing me in such a manner, she then refused to show me how to use the machine to send out my letter, taking pleasure in being a jerk to a customer in desperate need of help. I told a mail carrier who works out of that location about what happened to me that day and he explained that her reputation for abusing the staff and customers was well known with documented complaints filed against her, but that the US Post Office refuses to do anything to stop her harassment. They must only respond to lawsuits. However, the next time she begins her tirade and mistreats me or anyone else in the same manner, I am going to record it and post it on YouTube so that everyone can see what kind of treatment is being doled out to members of the Walnut creek, CA community and I will alert the news media about this story. This has to stop. read more

On 3/30 a package arrived at my office building on Treat Blvd. The carrier claimed they could not deliver it because of insufficient addressing info. The item has a tracking number, yet no one can tell me where the package is. Tracking does not show that it was "returned to sender." Sender claims the address WAS correct. I attempted to talk to a supervisor just 2 days ago. I waited patiently for 20 minutes, along with another customer. The "supervisor" never came out from the back office to talk to us. The carrier for the building told me she would check it out after a couple of days if the package did not show up somewhere. I asked her again today and she said that she never said she would help me if the package did not show up. This has to be the worst run facility I've ever seen. they are lazy and stupid and could care less about the customer. It's about time to dismantle the post office and let out contracts to private carriers. read more

The service and any professionalism here (Walnut Creek, Ca. Broadway St.) is completely absent. This branch has lost my mail. I filed a change of address with the postal service and 15 days later was notified by maill (the only mail I received at my new address) that the change of address was not ACCEPTED. When I went to this branch to find out where my mail was they replied "I don't know where your mail is Mr. Farley." Really? For the next three days they said they'd "investigate - a supervisor named Ashley (completely inept) and her colleague (Manny I believe) and just as bad. All they could deliver was double talk. The next visit when they told me to come back they wouldn't come out from the back office. They knew I was there because the counter person told me he told them I was waiting. They're playing "avoid the justifiably angry customer" I still have no mail - and no one can find my three weeks of mail. In that mail were the forms necessary to collect my unemployment. So,....I have no money and when they send me more forms, those get "lost" too. EDD has sent me the forms twice now and neither have gotten there and the post office doesn't care - they have no solutions, they offered no help, they are despicable people. When you turn the running of a government bureaucracy over to a bunch of foreigners to run you're asking for trouble. These people don't have the slightest idea how a post office should run - they have no idea how efficiently it could run - they are inept as can be. I will do every single bit of business I can now using alternatives. No more USPS - if you know what's good for you you will too. read more
