US Post Office - Front facade - Post Offices Near Me - Springfield, Oregon

I can say I have never had any issues using this post office and I use it a ton! The guys that work there are very knowledgeable. I find it crazy during the holidays they only have two cashiers sometimes three, however one is almost always doing passports. I do love this location does passports. I have never seen four cashiers here which is a full amount, so the line gets very very long especially right now, morning, noon or night. Two they can get your items where they need to be with no issue you might just have to wait awhile in line. There is a self service kiosk, but for somethings you just want a human to help you. Definitely in need of an update on the inside. I do miss and wish they still had an employee at "The Postal Store" inside. There has never been anyone working that counter anymore. It definitely would benefit the post office in sales and speed and efficiency. This post office I do have to say always has the most supplies out of the other post offices around. read more

There is nothing special about this post office. It's very so-so in service. I think part of that is simply the size of this location. This post office is quite large, and has a variety of items, not all relating to postal services. In fact, it almost seems like they have a section that's like a gift shop. It's a little weird. I've never been impressed by this location. The size of the post office doesn't seem appropriate for the parking lot. It can get very busy, making parking almost impossible, and dangerous. They also have a drive-thru to drop off letters and bills. People fly through the parking lot, even with speed bumps, just to go through the drive-thru. Employees are ok, and I mean just ok. There's nothing special about them, and it's a toss up if you get decent service here or not. Think of the tired, worn down employee who looks like they are exhausted beyond caring anymore. That's always been the kind of people I see working here. There's never a smile, they don't go out of their way to ask questions or help you. It's almost the "get your shit and get out" attitude. I very highly discourage anyone from visiting this location during tax season or Christmas. It's busy during normal times, but it turns into an absolute zoo during those two times of the year. Will I return? Ehh, maybe. It's a little out of the way for me, but when I'm shopping at the mall, it would be an easy and convenient place to just head over and ship my gifts where I need them to go. Unfortunately, I'd rather wait and go to the other Springfield post office, as I get much better customer service. read more

There's usually a wait at this post office, but it seems to be due to staffing issues. The employees who work here are nice, helpful, and efficient. It's nice how you can get here via gateway street or the mall, and despite being busy parking is not an issue. read more

Went with passport application. They have it and other relevant info easy to get off their web site. They also do only by appointment. My local PO (Eugene Willamette) can make the booking appointment! The staff person (John) was friendly and efficient and walked me thru the whole process at my appointment. They took the picture too. $50 total fee paid to the PO but they were easy to deal with and worth the cost since it took only 12minutes to get me in and out. I was pleasantly surprised. read more

Lazy and rude window personnel, especially a middle aged to older blonde woman who lacks the ability to have a basic ability to be friendly to people who essentially pay her wage. She talks to me as if I'm somehow beneath her and like I'm a child. But what really irritates me is that she at the same time is very polite and friendly to another white older gentleman right in front of me in line in the same breath. As an African-American I have enough garbage to to deal with in life without leaving an interaction at a post office wondering if I should feel slighted or not and why I'm not being treated the same as someone else. There's another window representative who's a younger overweight, tall male who every time I go there gets grumpy about having to help me with basic postal procedures such as making a money order. They also lecture customers on using self service options instead of bothering them when they want a human being to help them do something due to simply not feeling comfortable doing it themselves and wanting help. If they can't treat the public in a helpful and friendly manner when they're being paid by the tax payers and by the very same people they're being rude to, they really need to be let go and find another job. read more

I DO understand that this is a very busy time of year..my only issue is that if your hours are that you close at 6:30 pm, then you should be serving customers until 6:30 pm. I entered the post office at 6:17 pm..massive line-up of people because their self-service kiosk was out of order. I got in line and a woman standing 4 people in front of me said that she was the last person being served per post office employee. Lock your doors at 6:30. Help the customers that are in line. Its not our fault that your machines are down. read more

I had an A-OK experience at this post office, even during the crazy holidays when I needed to get some packages shipped. I came in at 8:45 not realizing they don't open until 9am which I thought was late for a post office. There was already a line inside but they employees moved quickly and I was in and out of there in 20 minutes at most from when they officially opened. They should open early during the holidays but that's just wishful thinking. I don't normally come to this area so I don't know if I will be back but everything went smoothly and it seemed like a normal post office experience! read more

Very disappointed with the level of service at Gateway Post Office.

We showed up at 6:29 with 4 prepaid, priority packages all completely addressed, taped up and ready to go. There were 2 employees working the counter, one of which was helping someone. They immediately and rudely informed us they would not be helping us. " use the kiosk " male employee said. " oh, ok and if I do that will it still go out tonight?" " I don't know, maybe maybe not responded other employee. Upon examining how the machine works for a moment I realized I did not have the credit/debit card required. When I voiced my concern to the employees, they told me I would have to go to the gas station across the street and purchase a temporary/reloadable card. - mind you by now they easily could have taken care of my packages. "Oh , she adds now your packages definitely won't go out tonight". Ok so rather than helping they opted to stand there (remaining at their posts chit chatting and giving me grief!! On top of it we are coming up on a weekend and a holiday! So now my nieces and nephews birthday gifts are not a day late but 3.....why? Cuz these asswipes (with incredibly horrible customer service/people skills in general) preferred to stand there and give me shit rather then lending 3 minutes of a helping hand which have really brightened up some kids days. Nope! Selfish pompous and narcissistic. I'd rather drive to cottage grove or junction city then ever encounter those two again. Maybe working the counter is really not a good fit for them. Sorting mail might be more compatible. Seriously F them I'm still thinking about two days later!! Oh and 1.5 days later my pkgs are still sitting in the kiosk. Wow! Thanks read more
