We moved here about six weeks ago and we're realizing we have a big problem getting our packages through USPS. We've had to order quite a few things (mostly from Amazon) and have had multiple packages that were not delivered or took MANY days to get after they were supposed to be delivered. They say things like they didn't have access to our front door (we live in an apartment and there's no gate so how can you not access our front door?), they said they attempted two different redeliveries but both notifications had a time stamp of 3a, I requested a redelivery on each of those two packages three times through USPS and they didn't deliver them. It took about three weeks to finally get my packages. They're just awful. We currently have two more packages we're trying to get. What a pain! read more

As far as the post office itself, the people are friendly and I have no complaints about them. What bothers me is: I keep having packages lost! I'm going to be forced to drop my eBay business because I can't depend on them to deliver my packages anymore! I can't tell you how many I've had lost in the last couple years! One did show up at my home address, it was a few cents short on postage, but it took a month and a half to go 2.5 miles? All the others are just gone, no trace...and they won't investigate because the tracking numbers are eBays! I've done everything I know to do, including buying extra postage, standing in line for a half hour to check them in personally...but they still disappear! I just can't afford to be losing one of a kind collectables! It's really sad because I'm on a fixed income, I really need the extra money! read more

Self service kiosk (a must) Nice selection of extras like cards, packing, etc, Usually have at least 2 on staff- I never wait more than 3 min. Cool stamps! Reliability problems with this office and their letter carriers. Mail will routinely sit in outgoing mailbox for days. Regularly receive mail addressed to different addresses. Very difficult to reach anyone by phone to work on a solution. read more

This location is open Saturdays unlike what Yelp says. The counter is open until 1. Service line was very long... afterall its tax weekend... but several employees came through the line to help with things they could, like package pick up, buying books or sheets of stamps etc.. the auto or self service machine was down unfortunately. But the line moved quickly. The location is clean and the service from Jeffrey was fantastic!! He's certainly an asset to this company. Great rep and very nice... I'm impressed! They close at 1 on Saturday... but you better get here before then because closed at 1 doesn't mean "everyone in before 1 will be served", it means whoever is in line at the point where they think it will close at 1 will be served. It has a large lot. read more

The worst, I don't know why they let you track a package it's never accurate. Just keeps saying delivery will be the next day. Also try calling them you will never reach a person. If you need a package on time I suggest Fedx. read more

AWFUL SERVICE! sent out a package in June from CA to Eugene Or, certified. the carrier has decided that a mailbox is an "individual" and left the package with it! i called many times with no one answering ever at this office. Went through different avenues to get help to find out why the service I paid for was never completed . After a month and a half, I received a call . The answer I was given " we're understaffed "... in other words a lazy government worker didn't want to get out of their vehicle! Never again will I use the USPS to deliver anything certified. read more

I wanted to mail a package, checked price online, $22.80, went Po and it was $70+ dollar. They said "it's a big box". I researched that evening and discovered if a PKG is 15+" it ups the price. I repackaged my item assure it was 15", went back to po. Expecting $22.80. now price was $40+. They said "It 15 1/2". I went to the kiosk in the Po, put it on the scale which has a ruler, it was 15". I ask them to come look, 2 employees refused and they actually started laughed. Went to another post office and shipped my 15" PKG for $22.80 with no problem. NO mail delivered Saturday-12/24 nor Monday the 26th. And, when it is delivered many times it's not until after 6pm. So that adds an additional day to the time that you can deposit the pay check that's in the mail. And, my employer doesn't offer direct deposit--nor should they need to. Funny that there are plenty of USPS trucks in the neighborhood--DELIVERING AMAZON! But, not the mail. We live---maybe 6 or 7 minutes from the River Road post office. The USPS "early notification" system tells you what is supposed to be delivered that day---but then no one bothers to deliver. I would wager that the USPS employees are getting their checks on time. read more

I've gotten mail through usps many times. Never had an issue. But this most recent time, I ordered from Amazon and they put "attempted delivery". Nobody knocked on my door. they put the reason as I didn't give a full address but it's the same exact address I've used on many other deliveries. when I try to call them, I called 5 times with NO answer. Don't say you're open certain times of the day but refuse to answer your phone for customers. read more

They have to deal with some pretty impatient/rude customers and they have been very low staffed (but I've seen some new faces being trained recently, so yay!). They don't get enough credit. Worst service ever and outright liars.. USPS advertised a service with money back guarantee - listed in the branch AND on their website but when they didn't deliver within the specified timeframe, they all of a sudden don't offer that (still up on their menu of options). First supervisor wouldn't even come talk to me about it but said I needed to go to a different post office for them to make the decision. Asked for her supervisor, Byron came out and said he couldn't make the decision and needed to speak to his consumer affairs Dept first and that he would get back to me in a day or day and a half. He gave me a phone number to contact in case he didn't call me, that number just rings and rings and rings. it's been almost a week and still waiting. Pathetic. I feel for USPS because there are powers that be that want to privatize and I think are deliberately affecting the agency, but stuff like this is ridiculous. read more

This isn't about the post office because the people that work at this facility off River Road are so awesome and helpful. It's the route driver for Stark and Irvington. The new driver speeds up Stark St like he is in a race and he never grabs the mail waiting to go out. There has been five times my mail has not gotten picked up so I have to run to the post office to have it post marked for the same day! Please teach your drivers one slow down their are kids at play and two look for outgoing mail. I will call the district office tomorrow because this is such a major hassle for anyone that needs mail to be delivered in a timely mannerly. read more

P.O. admitted it arrived as shown on their web site but flatly refused to look for it, electronically or manually, because it had no US tracking number. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! (one in particular). I'd had foot surgery & was waiting on an Amazon order to get specifically mailed AT MY DOOR. River Ave USPS carrier put it in a community mailbox, across the street, where I had NO way to access it (plus, it was winter & no one outside to ask if they could pls get it for me). As I was non-wt bearing and had some steps at my entrance, I could NOT get to the mailbox. I called the River Ave P.O. at 3:30 pm, enough time for a carrier to return & deliver it as I'd requested it to be delivered. An older, gruff man answered & merely said, "Frank". I had to ask him if I'd called the P.O. (since he didn't state so). He hung up! I called right back, asking if he had hung up on me....and he did it AGAIN! I called back because I really needed this mobility device. I briefly told him the situation...and he HUNG UP ON ME, AGAIN!!! Well! he continued to hang up on me - FIVE TIMES TOTAL!!! The most he said was "you'll get it tomorrow" and he wouldn't budge, even tho there was time to make the correct delivery. He never showed an ounce of concern that I was unable to walk & no one was at my home to help me! I immediately reported him. The postmaster at this location (a woman) responded via voicemail. She was irritatingly phony, with an extremely exaggerated kissy-face response to my complaint, so I didn't bother to call her back, seeing there was no point (1 irritating person from this post office was enough to contend with!). On any job I've ever had, Frank's abhorant behavior would've been cause for immediate dismissal. Nope, not at this P.O.! It's like this employee Frank knew he'd never get fired & was testing the limits of how rotten he could be & get away with it. (Since then, I'd moved & my current carrier said Frank has always been like this & always gets away with it!). Also, I'd wanted to get a P.O. Box some time ago so called River Ave & spoke to some older man (huh, maybe that was Frank, too?). I was shocked that it was going to cost me 50% more for the same (#1=smallest box) as I use to have in SE Eugene. I expressed surprise, telling the USPS man I thought the post offices' prices were all the same. He said, "We can charge whatever we want. It's what the market will bear." Wha-? IMO, that's a pretty crap attitude & system for being a post office! If it wasn't such a major inconvenience, I'd gladly have a POB at any location other than one on River Ave in Eugene! read more

Overnight guaranteed delivery was over 24 hours late so I went back into the post office it was mailed from with the original label from the package shipped and they said having the original hand written label/receipt and the electronic notifications isn't enough to get the refund. Why have electronic receipts and tracking updates and texts if they are not valid for a refund ? Lady on the front counter suggests I talk to a supervisor then chimes in when I am discussing it with the supervisor, refused to help, says talk to the supervisor then tells the supervisor how to refuse to take care of the customer. System shows over 48 hours to deliver an overnight package that cost $26.35 but they keep the money when they FAILED to deliver as promised? When you guarantee something with a money back offer and you fail to meet that guarantee does it really serve the customer to have ways to not honor the guarantee and no one is empowered to make it right. It's in your system! Look it up and give the promised refund when you don't meet the expectations promised by the guarantee!!! read more
