Everyone here is focused on making your trip to the DMV as quick and pleasant as possible. The new location is bright, comfortable and inviting. The pleasant staff works well together making the experience much better than anticipated. Lane County Dump as I like to call it is a great service. In the 5 years we've been here in Eugene…read morewe've accumulated some stuff that we simply don't need anymore. Last week I took 3 different truck loads here. I had never been here before, and when looking for help with questions, there were plenty of employee's around that were able to answer my questions. They have a lot of different areas to drop off anything from anti-freeze, to cardboard, books, batteries, bottles, reusable lumber, metal, plastics, plant pots and treys and that's just the recycling section. Once you separate everything out, the rest can head to the dump for 15.00 a sq. ft. Kinda spendy at the end of the day, but if you take the time to separate the papers and books and items as such, you can reduce your dump fee. Loads of wood may also be brought here for dumping. They charge 13.50 a load. Make sure you make it worth your time to do a dump run though, even though all I had to dump was an older AC unit today, I still had to pay 15.00 for it since it's considered an appliance. Looking back, I should've just took it to good will. I could've gave 4 stars if the fee's weren't so high, but the customer service is what kept it from being 2 stars.

We very much enjoyed learning more about the history of Eugene; the docents were both friendly and knowledgeable. The furnishings and architecture are from a different time and the tour was informative.

The docent was a very kind and friendly lady who knew the most about Aida but knew something about all of them. I appreciate her honesty when we asked a wished didn't know she would tell us she was not sure but would offer a maybe because... or probably because.... She pointed out what pieces of furniture were original to the home and explained how the rest were donated. So much history! She said the last lady who owned the home was raised in the Campbell House Inn which is actually where we stayed! I didn't take a bunch of photos as I was enjoying the moment and listening to the docent tell us the history of the home. Also many other people have posted great photos here already so no point in being redundant. The docent said it is decorated for Christmas during the holidays and recommended to visit it if I'm the area during that time. The theme was weddings do when we visited as the docent explained that someone had donated a tremendous amount of wedding gowns to the museum.

The front desk interaction, however, was shockingly unhelpful and honestly pretty condescending. The woman working there was unnecessarily rude and dismissive from the moment my mom tried to ask a simple question. Instead of offering any actual guidance, she acted irritated, gave us attitude for no reason, and basically told us we could be there for hours and to just "use a phone" because they weren't going to assist us at all, after we had already been waiting about an hour. It was a pretty basic request for information, not a difficult situation, which makes the attitude even more baffling. Thankfully, the officer who came out afterward completely changed the tone and was helpful and professional. But if the front desk is supposed to be the first impression of the municipal court, it's not a great one. A little basic courtesy would go a long way. Right now, it feels like you're an inconvenience just for walking in and needing help.

Adorable library with a great children's librarian (as of April 2024). I was home visiting my…read morefamily and friends and while here decided to check out the storytime at the library since that's a favorite activity of ours in Chicago. The branch is very small--it's basically one room--so the children's area is smaller and it was packed to the gills. There were 15-20 families here. We sang songs and listened to a couple stories, and the librarian was very animated and engaging. After the stories and songs portion ended, they brought out some toys for the children to play with. And we were given a "welcome baby bag" since we had not been to storytime before, which included a couple of egg shakers, a couple of teething rings, and a small bilingual board book. Cool to get a little welcome gift from the library. This branch was once a Wells Fargo so it has an interesting library/bank combo bank thing going on since there's a working ATM still located on the south side of the building. Inside, the bank remnant that remains (at least the obvious one to patrons) is the vault, which is now the Teen Vault. That's such a fun idea; there's a table in there, some bean bag type chairs, games, a white board asking for ideas for what the teens want to see at the library, and a comfort cabinet that contains things like toothbrushes, pads, lotion, condoms and dental dams, chapstick, etc. Really thoughtful touches, which I'm sure help a lot of local kids. The branch is an official voting drop off location, so if you drive around where the bank's drive-up window once was you'll see there's a big white ballot drop-off there. The library's book drop-off is here as well. There's plenty of parking since this branch has a small lot in front plus it's next to the grocery and pizza place so there's a huge parking lot.
