Just moved to Eugene and had to go to the Post Office on 33rd Avenue to pick up a parcel. When looking for directions came across the yelp reviews and most were pretty horrible. I went expecting an ordeal, wow was I surprised! Big airy post office with a very large lobby for PO boxes and commerce. Great counter, not a lot of people in line, happy smiling counter staff who quickly found my package. Lots of laughter and smiles, GREAT experience! Thank you USPS you deserve kudos, its easy to critique but you do a fabulous job of getting mail to the 350 million plus people who live in the US, many in tiny isolated communities and towns. read more

Mis-delivered mail all the time! Packages not delivered when said delivered. They do not EVER answer the phones. Very frustrating

Walked into this post office at 1:15 as people were waiting in line to be helped, the two clerks yelled "it's passed 1:00, we are closed" to my husband and I only....but online states they close at 2:00 on Saturday and there was a line of people being helped and more people walking in that also were under the impression that they close at 2:00...it was very confusing. I didn't say one word and left. It's sad because it's the holidays and they shouldn't be turning away customers almost an hour before closing... read more

Don't try calling this place after it says the call is being transferred to the operator it will ring for a few seconds and then drop the call. I've told them this now for over a year. They will also shove mail into your box that says not to bind and boxes you can't get out, they will then complain that you come in to ask them to fix it. read more

There was no way possible way to reach anyone at this post office by phone. I've tried calling them several times and after my calls were passed over to the operator, the calls would get hung up on. Disappointing! read more

Service is not bad at the counter, but delivery is horrible, with constant misdeliveries. We get other people's mail and packages, someone else gets ours, unexplained delays in mail showing in Informed Delivery Digest. Supervisor apologizes, says they've talked to the carrier, but the problems continue. I worry constantly about the security of our mail, not because of thieves but because of carrier mistakes. read more

Newman! My mailman is Newman! No not Newman, the guy who sells fish at the market on Willamette, Newman from the TV show Seinfeld! You know how Newman is a mailman, and how he has that storage facility of mail he's neglected to deliver for years? How Newman doesnt deliver mail in the RAIN? Yea......you know Newman! Unfortunately, so do i! First hand actually! Its crazy how this is all coming together. NO MAIL DELIVERED TO ANYONE AT MY ADDRESS FOR THREE, YES THREE WEEKS! A place where all it seems to do is rain, and an utterly INCOMPETANT person on the other end of the phone when i call to inquire: WHERE IS OUR MAIL? No, no one is stealing our mail! No, it didnt get blown away in the wind! No, not even any "junk" mail....NONE! They tell me one thing, they tell the landlord another thing, who knows what Newman is telling them! One of the Postal Workers suggested Aliens may be taking the mail to run tests; yes, ALIENS and other residents of the building are just plain confused, and me...im like....WHERE IS OUR MAIL? Ohhhhhhh thats right, its in some guy named NEWMAN'S storage locker, collecting and collecting until it bursts at the seams! hours on Saturdays has changed and the office is now open from 10am- 1 pm. The PO boxes are open 24 hours. This post office is very clean (smell the bleach now as I am waiting for the office to open!) but this spot seems to take awhile. read more

For the 3rd time since Christmas 2018, I have had packages reported to be delivered to me, dropped off at the wrong address. Thankfully my neighbors were kind enough to bring the misdirected packages to me. I talked to the primary carrier on my route, who attempted to help me in one instance, but he blamed it on the temps. Remind me, why do we need the USPS anymore? All they deliver to me is junk mail since all my payment activity is done online anymore. As a taxpayer, I would like budget directed elsewhere. read more

I get that it's hard to be a USPS employee, and this reviews is not directed at the front line at this location but rather the management and training team. Set your people up for success by instilling an "under promise over deliver" approach to customer service and encouraging honesty. I went in to pick up a package after talking to the call center (yes, normally I would fault me for this but they assured me they talked to someone at this location) and, due to the snowstorm, was told there were 50,000 packages in the back. The next person was told 25,000 by a different clerk. She then proceeded to tell her customer that his package would be delivered tomorrow, and there's no way she can know that (let alone promise that). Set your people up for success USPS. Help them out. Protect them. That was a bit ridiculous. read more

Grrrrr..... What's more frustrating? You decide. Option A: Having to pick up a package, waiting in a ridiculously long line while staring at the closed door with a bell to ring for service for parcel pick up, although you may not ring the bell during the hours of 8:30a-5:30p, and wondering WTF- where's the logic in that? Option B: Having a postal service counter that was built to allow for 4 customers to be helped at one time, but counter-intuitively staffing only one or two employees at a given time...whose lack of urgency and charismatic personality traits are noteworthy. Option C: Trying to find the local (not 800) phone number to a specific post office; trying to find the time to sit through an automated loop message; and trying to talk to a human when discussing the issue of a package getting lost somewhere between Portland and Eugene. Option D: Realizing that if the Postal Delivery Employee does not have any mail for me in his truck on any given day, I can also expect that they will not go out of their way to check for and take my outgoing mail that is clipped to the outside of my mailbox next to my front door. Oh my gosh, this post office needs help! Arriving at the post office today, there were 2 employees helping a line of about 20 customers! I understand that it was a Monday but still. After 5 minutes the second employee went on break leaving the one employee. Waited in line for about half an hour before I got to the front of the line. This place needs to hire more employees! You can't service the neighborhoods needs with one employee! read more

Terrible every time so they get a star for consistency. The supervisor was requested by a staff member to help me, and after waiting about 15 min. without any update or sign from anyone, the supervisor shows up, stains all over her shirt and acting as if my presence had greatly inconvenienced her. She was rude and took another 15 min. out of sight to log into a computer and check something. Periodically she would yell out that it was taking a long time to log in. Bizarre. Like being in the twilight zone. But overall the USPS is a completely inept business so I'm not surprised. I have had so many experiences with them resulting in promises for updates and guarantees on delivery with no follow through, and this location is no exception. read more

This post office Ranked in the top twenty for worst across nation. It does nothing but cause hassle and constant frustration with its services within the community. It doesn't even function or offer all the services they claim to have online. Anytime you try to explain your situation the PSE Clerks cut you off and give their policy talk as if their an automated service robot and not a real person. They think the Mail Carriers are perfect when they make tons of mistakes. Mail left out in the rain not in the box. Packages being undelivered when UPS and Fed-Ex finds the address completely fine, if they do deliver it's to my neighbor. No accountability always the robotic script. The postal police, inspector generals office needs to show up at this facility and shake things up for all the mishaps and missing packages and mail. Everyday there is some new trail or tribulation that this place throws at us as a community. "The United States Postal Service is teetering on the brink of collapse." Might as well just outsource the job if they can't get better at it. There is a bit of waiting and most of the time there is only one employee who is helping customers! But they are very helpful and knowledgable about the services! Totally worth it standing in the line! Post offices are my nightmare! But this office makes it easy for me! They are very friendly and nice people! I keep going back to this location! This post office (and I use this term loosely), is inept at the very least and crooked at most. I have had several packages get "lost" or delivered to the wrong address. Most say "Amazon" on the box and 1 was an irreplaceable object!!! You think that most employees are honest, so it leads me to believe that they are inept!!! This has got to be the most problematic PO I've ever dealt with. Unfortunately I have to put up with them as they are the local PO. Problems: 1) Usually way understaffed (or I should say, overly lethargic staff). Unless you go early morning you'll end up waiting in line 30 minutes on average. 2) PO Box mixups (yes that's right!) - I pay for a PO box and quite often times my mail is rejected and send back to sender, other times I receive mail that is for random names in my PO. I've had to have checks mailed up to 3 times before successfully receiving the mail. It has seemed to get a bit better recently after several compaints. 3) Mail pickup - I've experienced literally dozens of times that a daily pickup gets skipped - but the delivery agent scans the pickup request as completed. This has also gotten better after multiple calls to have the agent come back and pick up the packages as they said they did. 4) Priority mail package was returned from EU with note of failure to deliver - no contact from destination person. Customer states never was contacted, in fact attempted to contact PO several times in order to receive package. Package was returned. Normally when this happens other PO will scan and resend the package at no additional charge given it was a failure of the system to deliver. Not this PO. They demand the additional $33.95 to re-ship even though it was PO system failure to deliver. If you can avoid this PO - I'd highly suggest you do - especially if you're operating a small business. read more

A post office truck delivering to the Forum Building in Eugene at about 11:15-11:30 this morn cut me off DANGEROUSLY with no one behind me sliding into my lane so I had to slam on my brakes then he goes about 30 feet and stops in the street totally blocking the street !!!!! A complete moron and extremely dangerous driver!!!!! I'd can him if I were you, you are going to be paying for damages one day soon if you haven't already!!!! What a true idiot!!!! read more

Totally incompetent. Have been holding my three year old son's birthday package for over four days. Delivery driver said there's nothing left to deliver, whereas Amazon said it's at this office. Was suggested by the delivery driver that I go and try to pick it up since they won't answer their phones. Front desk refuses and said it's likely misplaced and I need to wait. No one offers to look for the package in the back and I'm instead at their mercy. I told them I could wait while they searched even if it took a while and they again refused. Totally unprepared for 24 hours of inclement weather and it shows. If I could give them zero stars I would. So disappointed. read more

A package was dropped off at this mail center location & was scanned one time when the sender paid for 2 day delivery. That was over 15 days ago & no other scans have taken place since. They told me its possible my package is in one of the mail carts or something, took my name & number saying they would call me back if located. I find it very odd that someone walks into a post office, pays priority shipping for 2 day delivery & the moment the package is handed off, it just disappears into thin air. Very very odd. Still waiting on my package. Would love to know where it is OR if it was stolen, who stole it. Basically, this is the last place you would want to send mail from. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would.. pretty sure there are federal laws against mail theft. Just despicable how this went down. Very very upset over this. Will NEVER have anything mailed from Eugene Oregon ever again based on the way this exact post office handled my mail by pretending like this package grew two legs & simply walked out the door. No lady, someone at your place stole my package & Im not happy about it. This review is only the beginning. This is the most horrible post office ever. They have a carrier that refuses to deliver mail to my house on her delivery route in Pleasant Hill. I have no dog and she does this to multiple people. I have talked to two different managers at the southside station (which continually change) and they will absolutely do nothing to stop this mean woman. She has had so many complaints against her. She leaves mean notes at my Post Office box at the Pleasant Hill Post Office (who are the sweetest ladies). I have three options with my new business. Print out my postage online and let them pick it up at my door, use FedEx, or drive to the post office near my house. Since I started my business I've been mailing my packages at this office and have to say that 50% of the time either the automated postal machine is broken, there is a long line, or a certain female postal employee decides to be blatantly rude to me. Today when I asked her if she might have a little extra tape for a 17 pound package I was mailing she shot me a snotty look, told me to go buy my own tape, and that they did not have ANY tape in their building.All This while she standing in front of a full tape dispenser. Horrible experience as a mail carrier for USPS. They were poorly managed, have zero concern for their employees, and are very money hungry. Long hours, favoritism most definitely, treat you like a number not a person. They have you train in Portland do not give you your travel advance until after you return so it is on your dime. Then paid out twice if at all and expect you to pay them back. I have had to spend more money to work for them than pay given. One advance was never given over $1.000 spent by myself and now they are asking for their advance back even though it was never given. On top of having to pay back so they didn't send me to collections and disputing it twice they now have sent me to the IRS for collections for another $300. Worst experience at a job ever. Not affiliated with the Government, private company who will work you like a mule and chastise you the entire time. Avoid at all costs and Union will not help you. read more

Unbelievable! We remodeled our duplex. Finished on the 9th. Tenants gradually moving in on the 10th. I send the rental agreement, but the mailman with the 'attitude' returned the letter. I tracked him down on his route. The arrogant mailman said that just because i had a stamp on the letter did not mean he had to deliver it! He knew the last tenants moved out, but didn't see a car in the driveway so he 'assumed' no one was living there & returned the mail. I told him I was going to complain to his supervisor, he said,"Go ahead." I couldn't believe it, when I complained to the supervisor at the South Side Post Office he was just as arrogant and agreed with the postman. He shut the door in my face & said,"This conversation is over." When I pay for a letter to be delivered I expect it to be delivered AND it would not of been toooo painful for someone to apologize for the inconvenience. Now what? Great Post Office for dropping off parcels or mail. Not normally crowded like the downtown post office. People are more patient and polite.
