The most fabulous employees work here. I will go out of my way to come to this post office over other locations because everyone who works here is so friendly and accommodating and super patient. I've been terrified to go to other post offices because the employees can be so brusque and impatient. But in Sherman Oaks, they're very helpful and do their jobs expertly without making you feel like a burden. I have come in here before with hundreds (I'm not lying when I say hundreds here, I mean actual hundreds) of packages at once from a non-profit project, and these post office angels have been amazing taking care of us. More than once, we were there at least an hour or two past closing hours, but they stayed with us to make sure we got all of our packages taken care of. Absolute angels. read more

Came here several times now at different times during the weekday and weekend. Can get pretty busy, but from my experiences the longer lines go quickly enough and parking never seems to be much of a problem. Thanks to the fully staffed registers inside, spaces are usually being freed up rather quickly. Looks wise, I would say this seems like a shadier, dingier looking post office than many that I have been to, but they are fully operational so no complaints from me. Each time I've been to the counter so far, the staff has been very pleasant, helpful and knowledgable. I appreciate that. Not a lot of post office workers seem happy doing what they do from what I've been able to tell. The last few times I've visited here, a part of the entrance has been boarded up and roped off with caution tape. Looks like someone drove their car into the building's entrance. I hope they can get that door fixed. It makes the overall visual demeanor of the place look uninviting to passer-byers. read more

Going to the post office is like going to the dentist: no one ever enjoys it but if you have to go you have to go. Unless of course you have no cavities, then all is well. But I digress. Anyways, on this occasion, I went to the post office in cyber Monday and I mentally prepared for chaos and just a terrible time. BUT, I was happily surprised. While the line was somewhat long, it moved quickly and there was a postal worker checking through the line to make sure everyone was ready to be helped. Faster lines would be great as others state but, spacious parking, there are self service machines which I was able to purchase stamps from! I visited during the Christmas/Holiday season, service seemed to be moving, plenty of employees to assist customers and both self service machines were properly working. I had a delivery issue where a package somehow wasn't delivered due to no fault of the mail carrier---just some confusion on instructions. I called the Sherman Oaks branch and was able to speak with Diana. She is amazing. I visit the post office at least 3 times a week and this is definitely one of my favorite post offices. The lines can get long , just like any other post office, but I've never waited more than 15 minutes. (Which is good , compared to downtown where I've actually waited 40 min at a post office.) After today, I now understand why the Post office will go out of business one day in the near future. I mailed priority certified, I paid for a signature confirmation. I didn't receive one, not only that but they claim my item is delayed and hasn't arrived, but the check I mailed was cashed. (This was a check to the IRS) So, of course I was stressed and worried about theft. Not cool. And they also denied giving me a refund, I now have to wait 10 days for my money back, when I paid for a 3 day delivery. I will never use them again. read more

This is by far the WORST post office I've been to! The slowest even when there's 2 people in line! Don't come here if you're in a rush!

To get in and out of the parking lot is a feat when it's busy here (uh, it only goes one direction folks) but other than that, this location gets the job done. Lines are abound on the weekdays and especially the weekends, but the folks at the desk try to move people along. The staff is friendly and has some form of a remote smile on their faces here, not like I've seen in other post offices where all you see are sad sad faces behind the counter x'ing off days on their calendars as to when they can retire. I love that they have 2 automated machines to send mail or get stamps w/o waiting in the super long lines. read more

I go to this post office all the time, not because it's great, but because it's close to my house. There's usually a line, but it does move steadily. Today was the worst- there were over 100 envelopes stuffed in our mailbox that weren't for our address- obviously the postman just didn't feel like working today. Okay, so obviously I do alot of shipping! I think this is my 3rd or 4th review of post offices in the Los Angeles area. Going to the post office is honestly one of my least favorite things to do, I mean, it's up there with going to WalMart, but in the end, I have lots of shipping to do and afterall, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! ...fighting and kicking all the way as it may be... until what have we here? ...it can't be! I go to this post office 2-3 times a week. I am always picking up supplies or shipping packages. Though the lines at times can be long, they usually move very quickly. They also have several self check out machines. When the lines are long I like to use these. Very fast and there is always someone to help you. I have run into a few issues, but an employee has always helped me figure out how to resolve them. The parking can be tuff at times but people usually don't spend much time at the post office. I feel the best times are between 10-12pm. Also, I this happens so often I am adding this to my review. As many places, people tend to drive fast in this small lots or pull out to quickly. Be carful when pulling out of parking spaces. I often see people almost getting hit because not everyone is paying attention. read more

This is my favorite post office, which is weird because I never thought I'd have a favorite post office. I used to have to come in here for work about twice a week. Most of the postal workers here know me by sight. I discussed the wedding of one of the ladies daughters all the time. They're very quick and super friendly. The lines can be really long, but they move fast. I also like they have the self-checkout for packages. When I was selling a whole bunch of stuff on eBay, I could go to the machine and take care of my little packages with ease in about 5 minutes. This US Post Office is almost always crowded and it's located at a busy intersection. There is only one way in (off of Magnolia) and parking is very limited so people tend to park on the surrounding streets. The facility itself is clean and the employees are very friendly and helpful. Lastly, this US Post Office opens at 8:30AM on weekdays which is earlier than most US Post Offices, at least in the Valley. If you're looking to make a quick drop off or pick up, I would avoid this location unless you plan to get there at open or close. read more

I've had 2 packages "gone missing" from this post office...no one seems to know what is going on. So sad! Just a warning if people are shipping to you via USPS and you live in the area...sucks when you can't trust your mail carriers. Worst mail delivery service, Mail delivery is very poor. I never receive my mail in a timely manner. I get the wrong mail, my is always given to me by my neighbor, Mail delivery guy takes upon his self to return all my mail to sender and will only place the junk mail in my box. Packages are never delivered correctly, mail guy will just place a paper in the mail box that says " sorry I missed you" when he never actually even tried to deliver and I always have to drive to the hot un-air conditioned Post office to pick up all my packages. I have reasons to believe that someone at this post office or the USPS stole my package. When I dropped it off on 09/17/2015, the clerk (#11), told me that I can track it once it gets to customs. It's been over a month and I cannot track it. I went back to this post office and the clerks there now told me that I cannot track my package. My recipient still has not received it and I cannot track it. I have no idea what happen to my package. I tried filing a claim online and just got a message "Inquiries are not accepted for the article numbers beginning with an 'L' as it is a First-Class Mail International item." I tried calling and same problem. I hate accusing people of theft, but all signs point to that. How can I not track my package or ask anyone about it? Horrible service. The worst ever!!! They delivered an item i had ordered to someone else. A $150 bodysuit and the stupid ignorant employee did it by mistake because she was talking on the phone during her job, gossiping with her friends. This dumb person should pay for my item but has no consequences for being stupid. She admitted it to me on the phone and in person. This branch has the crapiest management ever. Donna does not do anything as the manager and does not follow up with her customers or return any calls. Horrible customer service and stupid delivery people who do not get consequences for delivering someones merchandise to someone else!!! Wait in line to scan your packages. I had 5 packages go missing that were dropped off to the inside bin on the first week of December. Also, the new mail man on our street never picks up outgoing packages. I've had to actually bring them outside to him. Someone needs to inform the workers their job is to drop off mail and pick up outgoing mail. read more

Aside from the older gent with glasses this has to be one of the worst post offices in the country. I have never been to a worse one in my life, and after about 10-15 unavoidable experiences with this branch it is consistently terrible. The mailman who delivers my mail from this post office is phenomenal! I say this because after my foot surgery, I was basically out of commission and could not attend to much around the house as I could not walk, but only hop around for extreme necessities. So when he came knocking on the door (which in this case the perimeter of the house is gated with tall ficus trees and you must ring the doorbell that connects to the house phone) I was not able to answer it. When he saw no one was apparently home, instead of chucking it over the tall gate, he held onto the "fragile" package an extra day to try to potentially catch the the following day. Luckily, I was able to start lightly walking by the next day and he caught me just in time to hand deliver the package himself. I was so grateful that he went above and beyond to deliver this to me because it would've been so much of a bigger headache to have to go to the post office to pick it up. Went to this place and shipped out a package to Europe. Checked online the next day, to see the shipping status. No status, nothing. USPS hadn't even acknowledged that they had received the package. Went to this post office and guess what? Yup, they had lost the package. How on earth do they lose a package in less than a 24 hour period? I know how, IT WAS STOLEN! I've heard many things about people working here with sticky fingers. Shame I only found this out, AFTER I had sent a package out from this place. Stay well away from this post office. Where is my mail? The review is not so much for the office but the post man that work out of this office. For the second time (that I am aware of) my mail is missing and according to my bank someone has tried to use my new credit card several times. My mail box is empty and there is no notice where my mail was taken. Yes this complaint is going as far to the top as It can possibly go... 1 Star, minus 1. I've been in this area for a year. You have a less than 50% chance of receiving any package you're expecting from this office. They will mark items as delivered when they have not been. They will leave redeliver notices for an "attempted delivery" when no such attempt has been made. They also make a habit of delivering mail to the WRONG apartment numbers. They will make it really hard to get answers in regards to your missing property from an actual person. When you finally do talk to a human they'll absolve themselves of any responsibility. It's really hard to b.s. a person who WORKS FROM HOME (me)and lives in a bldg that has video surveillance of all areas including the mailboxes. Unfortunately, these are feelings and experiences had by most of my neighbors who have had the misfortune of expecting a delivery from this usps office. If you're reading this and this is your carrier's base, pay extra to get expedited shipping with another service. read more

I've been to this location before, and have had pleasant experiences with employees. However today I used the self service line since the woman (I'm assuming the Postmaster) was promoting it. So instead of waiting in the incredibly long line (to be expected) I used the self service to buy stamps. It is February 1st, so I had assumed (wrongfully) that festive Christmas stamps wouldn't be in the system. When I received 40 Charlie Brown stamps for a bridal shower invitation, I asked the female employee in front of me after the stamps came out of the machine if I could please exchange them. "No." So then I looked online at USPS website to find there were certain exceptions to the rule so I politely showed her to see if that applied to my situation. She quite rudely responded "These aren't the wrong kind of stamps, you just don't like what you got!" Needless to say, that will be my last visit at that location. I would rather pay a little extra and take my services to The Mailroom & More, who always provide polite & kind service. read more
