I don't know why this PO has a 2.4 rating at the time of this review. After losing over 100 pounds, I have been selling some of my nice old (much bigger) clothes on Poshmark. Poshmark provides a QR code that you can show at any USPS counter, where they will then print and place your label, hand you a receipt, and ship your package. The buyer immedaitely gets a notification that their purchase has shipped along with a tracking number. Perfect! I live by a UPS store and was bummed when I reaized I'd have to make my way to a USPS locale to send my Poshmark packages. This one on Nopalitos is the closest to the Mesa and has plenty of parking, so I ignored the reviews and figured I'd give it a shot and if it wasn't a pleasant experience, I'd choose another location for my next shipment. It was great!! There was plenty of parking immediately outside the entrance and I have yet to encounter any kind of line. There is always someone who is clearly well-trained at the counter who greets me and immediately reaches to help me with my package. They scan the QR code off my phone, hand me a receipt and I'm out of there! (I shoud note that I don't think I've ever encounrtered the same person at the counter twice; it's always a new person, but they are all the same level of friendly, efficient, and fast.) I bet I've made 5-10 trips to the Nopalitos USPS lately and every single time I've been there, I've had this eact same experience. I bet I'm in and out in under a minute on every trip I've taken there with my Poshmark shipments. This is a review that is easy for me to award 5 stars. read more

This is my regular Post Office. I love the ample parking, short lines, friendly and very helpful customer service.

Service in this post office is amazing. They are friendly, nice and super helpful. There is also a parking lot so highly recommend coming here to buy postage, send mail, etc Bad reviews seem to be in regards to mail deliveries to their homes- used to live in east side of town... also had issues with once in a while mail getting delivered to neighbors address but moved to the west side and same issue. Postal workers that I spoke with were all courteous and tried to help with information available. However, the postal workers in Santa Barbara and Port Jefferson had different sets of information. So, when I was in Santa Barbara, I was told it was already sent to Port Jefferson. When I contacted Port Jefferson, they said it was in Santa Barbara. Then, on January 11, which was the last date available for delivery , they told me it was sent back. read more

Terrible service. Reckless and cruel management. iI had a one of a kind, highly rare and valuable item for a high profile client of mine go to the East coast after being held here for less then 8 hours. The package came from overseas. The supervisor himself identified the package and the mishandling by the company personally but could not do anything. He even said "I should have gone with FedEx" USPS is shirking responsibility, and they will forever lose my business. There simply is no way you can trust this branch or any USPS with high priority items. Maybe just Amazon. read more

This is such a great post office, the people here are super helpful, even when I've called in OVER THE PHONE LEAVING A MESSAGE, they get back to me that very day! They are simply the best. Parking here is great, love the downtown post office because it's so nice to look at, but the plentiful parking here makes me extra happy! I especially appreciate the USPS in the past two years, with ordering so much online as there is no shopping in town and we couldn't go down south like normal, I personally believe everyone was relying much, much more heavily on the USPS. In talking with the post men and woman I've been especially concerned with the vehicle's that they have to use, the windows are poorly constructed glass that inhibits them from seeing properly at certain times of the day with the sun in all and the vehicles are cold. US Post Office - Love the spacious parking! - Post Offices Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

I have been having issues with getting people's mail who have never lived at my address. I kept putting RTS and has notified the carriers, who told me they can't do anything. I went to the office, and it was either the station manager or supervisor who was working the counter that tried to play stupid with me. I have worked with USPS out in Goleta and know how to carry and be a clerk. I had mentioned to put a card, which they have, for certain names only so when the carrier delivers the mail at the address, they can see it before putting the mail in the box and forward names that aren't on it. The man said that it's impossible and basically I'm asking too much. He said he would leave a note for the carrier with the names only and when I put two last names, as I receive just one bill in the mail with my maiden last name; he said I would confuse the carriers and that again I'm asking too much for the carrier to remember. On separate note, at times I'm not receiving my bills, especially medical bills and when I do get it, it says I'm more than 60 days late. When I call the medical company, it says a bad address when the address is actually good. I've also sent bills in the mail and the carrier picks up. However, it will be 2 weeks and the company still has not received the payments and is weird because it's first class and should only take at least 3 days to get to them and not 14 days. read more

Wow. The two old government workers and their passive aggressive service is beyond belief. Would it seriously kill these gentleman to be kind? Are they so angry about their jobs that they simply must infer a sarcastic answer to everyone's questions? I mean, if we had to ask a thing, doesn't that mean we don't know? Why be upset with customers for asking questions... We've just moved to Santa Barbara and set up a PO Box and I'm so pissst that my husband bought our Box here...ugh! Oh and an added pleasure, 3 days into our new Box the lock was open before I inserted my key. When I turned the key the lock mechanism then popped off. Hooray, I get to go talk to one of the rude dudes about a repair... If you can, avoid this place like your life depends on it. read more

A nice post office with two kiosks and friendly, efficient service. If you are coming from downtown Santa Barbara consider taking Quatantina St. to get under the free way and avoid Milpas traffic. They also had no issue recycling my box. read more

A very important package was not delivered. I have been calling for hours, letting it ring the maximum number of times until it goes to busy. I called USPS main line to verify this was the correct number, they confirmed it was. Very disappointing..... If only I could walk there, but I can't! I waited on hold 41 minutes to get through the main USPS line. Tragic.... read more

I moved months ago submitted a change of address and ironically never received any mail from old to new residence come to find out all my mail still went to old address in SB. After speaking to my local post office and having follow up conversation with the supervisor I was advised to contact SB post office and request they forward my mail because evidently I have already paid twice...for nothing. It's been over a week now and every time I call this location it's either to a message they are closed even before 5 or it rings to another universe. There is no way to contact this facility. White privileged and the most entitled people in the world reside here. read more

Terrible customer service. I had trouble with my tape that I had purchased a few weeks back and the gentleman at the desk helped me. I guess he thought I had stolen t because as I was leaving, another worker stopped me. He asked"are you going to pay for that tape" and I informed him that I had already payed for it weeks ago.He gave me this "yeah right" look and I left. As I was driving away, I pulled over to look for the receipt. I knew I had it somewhere and bingo! I drove back and left it on the desk for him to look at and all he could say was "it's ok!" Ok so I am new to the SB area as I now work out here coming from Ventura county. I had to drop off 3 prepackaged items for delivery. I always try to be prepared, have my items packed and labeled to avoid delays and make it an easy transaction for all. So I looked online for this location as it was the closest to me, not the easiest to find but that could be my navigation system :/ Anyway I arrived a little before noon, lots of parking available which always helps, there were at the time only 3 people in line in front of me and 2 at the counter being helped. The staff is courteous and prompt however it seemed to bee the customers holding up the line. Too many questions and not knowing what to do and how to do it, If they had or offered a self serve kiosk (which some USPS do) this would have saved me a good 15 minutes min. By the time I made it to the counter all I had to do was pay, and I was done. The gentleman who assisted me was not the fasted to type but again I was prepared and ready to go so my transaction was simple all I had to do was pay and get my tracking numbers. As I turned to walk out the line had grown out the door, so maybe not a good idea to come in during the noon hour. If you're in a hurry not the best location but if you come prepared and know what you're mailing and how to mail it you should be fine ;) read more

So unfortunately if you're reading this, you have no choice as to which post office you visit as you reside in their three zip codes. They will not answer phone calls. I have called 15 times and they will answer and immediately hang up. I went in and asked if their phones work or if they just don't like answering them. The guy looked at me like an idiot and just said sorry. The reason I came was because they messed up one of my deliveries. It was marked out for delivery, then marked available for pickup.
