Handsdown, best drycleaner and customer service!! I ordered a special event gown on Amazon way too late in the game. The gown arrived on Friday evening. Unfortunately, It was delivered with silver or white (animal?)hair on it, wrinkled and showed signs of being worn by someone else, ugh! I had only read about these kind of reviews on Amazon where this happened, well it happened to me. The gala event was the next day, Saturday began at 5pm. Trying to use a roller brush to remove the hair and steam the gown, this was not working!! Panic kicked in! I called Ablitt's Fine Cleaners at 11am on a Saturday and spoke with Miguel, the general manager. Miguel said, "bring the gown in within an hour and I'll see what I can do. After handing gown over to Miguel at 12pm, I recieved a phone call from Miguel at 2pm, " the gown is ready!! Yay!! It looked flawless!! Thank you, Miguel!! You saved my life! And I recieved so many compliments on the gown! P.S. I have used Abblitt's on may occasions. One of those times, I brought my long coat in to be dry cleaned. It was missing a button when I dropped it off. When I picked it up about a week later, no one at Ablitt's said anything, but when I removed the plastic cover and hung my coat up, I noticed my coat had all of it's buttons. This was my first time using Ablitt's. I had an ink stain on one side of my linen duvet comforter. Everything I had read on the internet was to take it to a dry cleaner immediately and not to attempt removal on my own. I dropped it off around 6pm. At the time there were only teenagers running the place and they could not really tell me what would be done to remove the stain and that there were no guarantees that it could be removed. I handed it over, but in my gut felt like I was making a mistake/ felt uncomfortable leaving my item not knowing what would be done. I called the following morning to speak with someone more competent and was told that yes they would try solvents before hand to remove the stain as long as they knew what type of stain it was. I got the duvet back- and the ink stain was not able to be removed fully BUT ON TOP OF THAT the ink stain had been transferred to the other side! This side was undamaged prior because there had been a down comforter between the sides when the stain happened. It seems that they may not have attempted to remove the stain but perhaps just dry cleaned it?! which was my fear. I'm upset because previously I could at least turn the comforter over, but now it's unusable. read more

So they left our freshly dry cleaned jacket outside by street hanging on our outside lights. They always would bring to the front door. They are making an excuse at best (lie) that the passenger/people gate was not open/ (ie locked) but it was unlocked. They also didn't ring the call button on the drive gate which would have another option for them. Normally they would park on the street with lots of easy parking and walk it to the front door. When my husband spoke with Shawn, the manager, he just had excuses. I would have recommended that he speak to the driver, use it as a learning opportunity and give us a call back. Perhaps give us a credit to give them another try. On top of it, it was Misty and rainy out when they had left it outside. We didn't even like about it until the next day when we were calling Ablitts about our delivery. It was days after it was supposed to be delivered. When they told us, it had been delivered a day or two earlier, we had to go out and look around at the front of the property and we found it hanging on outdoor light. We are lucky. It did not damage yet, but I'm sure it was not good for our lights attached to the wall. Why they didn't put it on the gate is shocking. But of course why they didn't walk through the gate and bring it to our front door. That is covered is doubly disappointing. Hopefully Shawn will look at this and get back to us. When something like this happens - it's how you handle it that matters. We've been trying to work with them directly. However, there is no learning opportunity. There's no confidence and assurance that the problem won't happen again. A problem that could lead to our lights kidding pulled off the wall due to the weight of the dry cleaning left on them... which could become a fire hazard when the lights come on automatically!! ( if they hanging off wall wired exposed) Or the clothes being stolen being left out by the street. Normally Ablitt's would come up to our front door and leave it there. Certainly we've never had anyone leave things hanging from our hand forged lights We totally understand that mistakes can happen. But when they deny it and don't give us any assurance about it, not happening again.... And contradicting us on house facts - it just shakes all of her confidence in then We are rooting for local businesses. They have grown so big, and maybe just rest on that, versus working with clients when their hiccups. It's really disappointing. I wish I could be giving them a great review. I understand they have a place to recycle plastic bags. I don't know if they still do that or that and it during the pandemic, but it was things like that that made them special. Sadly - we are pretty incredulous about what happened with how they left the dry cleaning out at the street on the lights versus coming up through the gate and to our front door which they have done in the past on and off over the years. We probably only had the dry cleaning, delivered to our door once or twice a year, but enough that the details should be in our profile. The driver didn't even try to ring the drive gate. We ensure that the passenger gate was unlocked and had deliveries to our door by other suppliers We've had issues with Ablitt's in the past (small spot on white silk blouse. Blouse came back ruined ). and so I don't normally just set out a difficult review. But it feels like we have to push so hard just to get accountability. Again, we understand the hiccups and issues. But it's how people work together...Ablitt's what happened to you? We hope this is just an unusual rough patch and we hope to hear back from you... For Now for sure - Zip clean. I took my new linen dress into be dry cleaned. Two days later I get a call that my dress is ripped. I asked to see video and the video of when I arrived shows the dress is not ripped. Two days later they show me a video of the dress ripped in one of their baskets and claim it's my fault! What dry cleaner discovers that two days later! Clearly they damaged it and are claiming it's my fault. I asked them to repair it as a way to make it right and they refused even though it was a simple seam hem and I had already had a dress in to be altered. The way they handled it was extremely rude and unprofessional. No sense of apology about what happened to my dress. They just wanted to blame it on me and get as much money out of me as possible. I had a substandard experience that turned into an excellent experience. The manager of this business (Eric) is determined to help the customer attain an excellent outcome. I purchased a wool vest while traveling abroad, and when I got home, I realized that it had an "animal smell". Apparently, there was confusion about the price and the treatment of the item and it was not done when I first went to pick it up. After some drama, Eric stepped in and created an excellent solution. They ozonated and cleaned the item, and it now smells and looks incredible.....much nicer than the one I purchased! Eric's communication was excellent and he made an effort to honor the prices on their website despite the item needing extra care. They are amazing! I had a tray of red wine spilled on me by a server. I immediately went home and tried several home remedies I found on YouTube but nothing worked. I had to wait another day before Ablitt's opened (they are closed on Sunday) and took my pants in. They said there was a 50-50 chance of them being able to remove the stains and that it would have been better for me to have brought them in without any attempt to clean them at home. I have had really bad experiences with all the other dry cleaners and tailors I've tried in Santa Barbara from ruining garments to taking months past the expected return date to return garments. Ablitts is run like a business, and does what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it. Their staff is friendly and professional. I brought my new custom made dress shirt to Ablitt's to clean up some stains. The shirt came bank with rust colored splotches all over the right cuff, which were not there before. I brought the shirt back to them and was told they would try again. Two days later the shirt came back. They got the stains out, but in the process they bore a large hole in the cuff! Nothing like this has ever happened to me at a dry cleaners before. I'm still waiting for the owner to decide what, if anything, he's going to do about my situation. Would never come here. Had a cashmere sweater dry cleaned and repaired. They called me to quote a price as they found some holes and when I came to pick it up try tried to charge me triple. I've had my wedding dress hung up in my closet since October 2013. This dress was long overdue for a cleaning. I also had my sweet 15 dress hanging in the closet as well. That's over 15 years old! I took both dresses in to get cleaned at the same time and Ablitt's did a a hands down fantastic job. They gave me realistic review of what to expect with the types of stains the dresses had (dirt, food, drinks, you name it) and the decorative details such as beading and plastic type details but they exceeded my expectations. I opted to have my wedding gown preserved and the quinceñera dress regularly stored with just a bag since I will be gifting it to my niece for her 15th birthday next year. OMG! This place is horrible! We gave them my dad's three pairs of very lovely pants for my wedding ceremony and other wedding-related events, and they gave us all three THREE PAIRS back with one LEG being almost AN INCH shorter than the other! How can this even happen?!!! They were supposed to return the pants earlier, but they postponed the work because their tailor had covid.
